The correct term is Glam Metal, what you're referring to is Glam Rock. So yeah, Glam on a Metal song means Glam Metal. It's all bogus really. It's just Heavy Metal. Hair Metal is a term made up by corporate America. It's to steer the public away from classic Metal and its image. Phil's voice was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better on his first two albums with Pantera compared to latter pantera albums, although they're still good in their own right.
@wolf4241991 well phil had a flashier vocal style. amazing technique back in the old days, but you have to look at what he did. he invented something new. that gutteral growl/scream....no one ever did that before phil. and even though it isnt singing, that style is still extremely hard. i wish people would realize that it's hard to do that with your voice.

Exhorder (which inspired phils later vocal style) had similar vocal in the late 80's, around the time phil and the rest of pantera were still in their "Power Metal" phase. Phils voice was still ok in the 90's but imitators can never beat the original, and The vocalist on Exhorder (at least in my oppinion) sounds a hell of alot better in comparrison.
