I've heard that a Cold Stone franchise is the worst franchise you could possibly invest in. Five of six of them in our immediate area have all gone belly up. Anybody else have information on Cold Stone and its failure rate?

@DavesTheOne14 I would blame their prices...or just the location.....but they are expensive...in Canada its an average of 4 bucks for just a "I like it" size ice cream....I love the chain though....but I doubt it will last. Being beside (well partnered) with a coffee shop thats ten times cheaper....I can see our local one going belly up

I am a Cold Stone franchisee and my store is operating at a reasonable profit. Most stores that have closed have been due to poor management and customer service just like most businesses. They don't run themselves you actually have to care and have a little common sense!

@DavesTheOne14 Well it really depends on location, like the one in Cincinnati OH is always packed, the same goes for the ones in amusement parks.

Ugh, I work at Coldstone and it's insane. I had one lady come in, taste a sample of literally EVERY flavor(except for Sweet Cream), say they were all delicious, have us make her a smoothie, then chane her mind, have us make her a Sweet Cream milk shake(the only flavor she didn't taste, then leave while we were in the middle of making it.

Or, of course, when we caught some people spoonin(no pun intended) in the restroom.
