  • This sounds closest to the version that they play at Wallaby games. Or at least this is closest to the one they played at the bronze final for the world cup. I was wondering if anyone knew exactly which version was used there?

  • @Akseliglooo3 the music in the background is waltzing matilda march. (i know because i play this version on ANZAC parades as a member of the australian army cadet band sydney. if you want to hear another great version without singing just type waltzing matilda march then click on the first one with the RAN on it.

  • @porkymaure96 Cheers. I have been trying to find that for ages.

  • @porkymaure96 Do you know where I could find a version of it with the words?

  • @Akseliglooo3 im not too sure but if i do ill tell you

  • @porkymaure96 Cheers.

  • Waltzing isn't the unofficial national anthem it's the national folk song.

  • Both :)

  • I am American, but because of my old pal Ron, I (sort of) know all the words to the ballad. At least, I know what the story is about. Cute, and very tradtionally Australian.

  • It is a beautiful song and has so much significance :)

  • Well filmed. But I'm sorry Will, they sounded terrible. Woodwinds were out. A whole stanza was without singing, trumpets and flutes needed more dominance in tune, not just the euphoniums. It was just bad marching music. In this oom pa pa, Monty Python reject music, oh dear. I'm sorry Welsh quoir. Nice effort but I just hated the way it was put together. I'll still give 5 stars as everyone had the best intentions. Blessings FLETCHER

  • PS. The only version I've ever heard that works with a stanza unsung is using the Irish version of "Waltzing Matilda, Matilda, my Darling..." Which is mainly flutes and percussion...This is the original Waltzing Matilda....Then build up in crescendo to the real Australian Waltzing Maltida, as a dramatic device. Surely the Welsh would know the Irish version of Waltzing Matilda...or maybe they don't...

  • Yes I know that version. The Seekers did a version of it. Great tune :)

  • Thanks Fletcher. I've gotta say I loved it considering it was improvised. Thanks again :)
