  • I WANT HER TO MAKE A DRESS FOR ME!!!! even though i'm not fund of wearing girly stuff...>.>

  • She is a great costume designer. She makes all gorgeous costumes that Angelina Jolie wears in "The Tourist".

Hollywood have greats costume designers. Patricia Field (The Devil wears Prada) and Eric Daman (Gossip Girl) are also amazing.

  • Oh my gosh! How come I haven't seen this before. Coleen Atwood made me want be a costume designer so that's where I'm heading! She is brilliant, and she never stops surprising us with her fantastic costumes! :)

  • I love this movie. So much. This is just amazing<3

  • I LOVE SWEENEY TODD ahhhhhh :)

"Ew all that blood" lol i love mrs. Lovett too

  • Timothy Spall rules! Love that accent.

  • Sweeney Todd -3

  • that skirt is FABULOUs o.O

  • It's cool that she did Memoirs of a Geisha, because the costumes for that film were very good. She is undoubtedly talented.

  • could you please do a tutorial for a Sweeney Todd and Mrs. Lovett costume?

  • i love this episode i m a big fan of tim burton, threadbanger and Colleen Atwood

but on 2:58 Corrine wears and awesome black like shirt thing can you make a tutorial for this clothe that you wear ?

    Thanks a million =)

  • Sweeney Todd = <3

  • I saw this film in London and I thought the costumes were fantastic!!!

  • the corset really messed it up.you should dye it darker,or spraypaint it black

  • colleen atwood's a genious!! i love all the costumes she made, but those in sweeney todd are amongst my all time favorites!!!

  • that outfit was excellent, but the corset killed it. other than that i loved it

  • I loved the whole outfit but i dont think the courset went properly. apart from that it is a wonderfull outfit.

  • does anyone know how I can just become her? I can't help but adore colleen atwood.

  • Love it! XD

  • Colleen Atwood is absolutely my IDOL. Seriously worship that woman.

  • I know, I am in love with this woman! She just.... makes my life complete haha

  • the purple corset is kinda odd... but i love the skirt!

  • loved the dyeing but....the final result not so much. it could have been so cool! but methinks the purple "corset" ruined it =/

  • i agree... if they would have just left the petty coat and maybe still done the sleeve alterations.... it would have looked so cool :)

  • the purple corset would have been better if it had been sewn under the red-purple fabric used for the top half, just to give it shape.

  • i loved her clothes in Chicago:]

  • corinne's a genius!

  • Colleen Atwood is GOD!

  • Ah this is awesome! Great ideas for a penny pincher like me. <3 thanks guys!

  • Woah she did Memoirs of a Geisha?!?!?!

  • great :D

  • omg colleen atwood is my idol- such an inspiration!

  • the Sweeney Todd movie had a lot of awsome costume diesigns in it, especially in the ball scene with all the masks... And all of Mrs Lovett's dresses ^^ I'm tempted to get some striped fabric and do one of the dresses from the "by the sea" scene.

  • Colleen's work is absolutely stunning.

  • Ok, now I'm pumped to make my Mrs. Lovett dress. Not sure which one yet, probably the one from "The Worst Pies In London".

This video helped me in getting ideas on how to make it!

    Thanks so much!

  • i wish the corset was a more deep wine red/purple. the one she had was like.. periwinkle.

actually, it may have looked fine without the corset entirely.

  • you could take the strips and gather them by basting two (or three) lines of stitching down the strips and gathering them with the basting thread and sewing them onto the shirt with a straight seam. i dyed my sons joker costume!found a grey wool jacket and purple rit dye & a 5 gallon bucket.i also dyed a vest green for same costume and made joker cards with our printer, a stock joker image, card stock paper.i found purple pants, a similar shirt, tie, bought socks.all together:$25 and he is joker!

  • i actually attempted the dress. it actually didnt come out that bad.

  • lolZ I think the corsette should've of been darker

  • Omg I love sweeney todd. It is so good and itlooks like it would be so much fun to make costumes.

  • omg!!!!!!

    thats amazing!

    i loveeeeeeeeee sweeney todd!!! <33333

i can wait to do this!

    :D

  • i cant watch this video

    anyone want to chat vh

  • OMG Freaking Amazing

  • IDTHINK SO

  • the dress at the end is awesome.

  • TOTTALY i ALWAYS TEACH MAH SELF ALWAYS FiNDiNG STUFF ON MY OWN

  • lol you guys are funnee ^__^

  • awsome

  • What kind of dress did you use over the skirt?

  • im just curious, what was the salt for?

did it ask for it on the package?

  • i'm going to guess the salt was used to bring the boiling point of water down; making the water boil faster

  • also depending on what kind of dye/ and often what color of dye you are using; it might call for using salt

  • I spin my own yarn and dye my own fabrics. The salt in the dye is there to help activate the dye process and help it penetrate and adhere it doesnt have anything to do with the water boiling.there are many different dyes out there.I would play with all of them .different fibers call for different things.silk accepts dye very well while wool needs acid dye.theres acid dyes, sabraset dyes, procion dyes( rit),indigo dying and natural dyes from plants, flowers and herbs.and some more i msure i forgot:)

  • I like that top you're wearing at 00:04 girl. Can you have an episode to showing how you make it? Thanks♥♥♥

  • How do I make or where could I get the bathing suit Johnny Depp is wearing. I want one.

  • colleen is my hero i want to be just like her :]

  • i like hers better than his

  • OMFG TOO EPIC.

  • I know her daughter. She goes to boarding school with me.

  • OOOW i wish i could sue anything lol <3

  • I saw the movie. It rocked!! I'm happy you guys did something for it...those costumes must've taken 4ever to make!!

  • this film is fucking awsome it rox

  • The corset color seems a bit out of place but the actual put together garment looks great!

  • I agree. Could you dye the corset?

  • Yeah, you probably could.

  • yeah...it would look much better, if the corset were black

  • Damn I really wanna watch that movie

    //x -

  • that was really sweet! I luv sweeny todd!

  • This was freaking awesome!!!

  • Thanks!

  • you should make some lolita style outfits or mini top hats that would be so amazing

  • the corset would have been better a different color...

  • Probabaly

    Black or Black and purple

or the whole petticaot shouldda been those colors

  • Love Colleen Atwood. She's fantastic, and I love Sweeney Todd. The costumes were beautiful to look at.

  • sweet. =]

totally doing that for halo ween.

or anything else that requires a costume. :P

    ahah.

  • I absolutely adore the costumes especially the ones in the picnic-holiday scene! great stuff for sketching...can't wait for the dvd so i can pause, gaze, pause, gaze.

  • ahaha my thoughts exsactly. Between gore scenes i was just in awe. :P

  • Corinne and Rob, I just loved what you made from the thrift store. Now I can make a kickin' masquerade costume!

  • absolutely love the skirt that skirt. probably make one for lolita

  • I LOVE THREAD HEADS!!!!!

  • My friend and I went to see sweeney todd dressed up in our diy costumes we created from this episode. Thanks guys you rock!

  • ahaha what responce did you get? My freind and I were planning to do the same.

  • we got a few double takes but no one really said anything to us, :(

  • Amazing movie and costumes...love Mrs Lovett's esp.

I tried to dye a petticoat red once and it turned salmon X-/

  • I would like to know if anyone has came across the pattern for Mrs. Lovett's dresses? I think the story takes place in the 1830's but the late victorian dresses seem to look more like her's. I like the Black and burgundy dress in the video. If anyone can help I will thank you.

    Erin

  • Kewl Now I can make my own Victorian style cloths :D

  • When she says "Before you dye anything" She looks like an animated character.

  • hey, pass that joint over here..hahahah

  • k

    XD

  • Thank you SO much for this! I love Sweeney Todd. I'm growing my hair out to be Mrs. Lovett for Halloween next year, and now I can make my own costume. Yay!! :)

  • Colleen Atwood is my HERO.

I adore the costumes in Series Of Unfortunate Events, and every other Tim Burton movie.

  • OMG that dress was so cute!!!!!!

  • she's from my hometown!!

haha i dont blame her for leaving.

    it kind of sucks here.

but she's brilliant, i must say.

  • hahah what part of south florida is she from?

  • south florida? try washington.

  • oh she had a "sun sentinel" news paper, from south florida

  • hmm. she might live there now, but she's originally from washington.

  • WHOOOOOOOOOO!!! go victorian inspired fashion! my favorite time period, thank you very much.

  • i love sweeny todd..i saw it opening night and im gona go see it again!! ^.^

  • His shirt looked hideous! :(

I liked her dress, though I think the corset should have been a different color.

  • True, that shirt didn't work out so well, lol.

  • She's brilliant.

  • Colleen's work is absolutely stunning.

  • I love you guys!!

  • i would die to put one of the victorian dresses collen made for 'sweeney todd'. they are so pretty. i love them.

  • i did not see the moive but my dad did he got his money back go see i am legen that moive is great i saw it 2 times

  • I saw both movies today

I paid for Sweeney Todd and sneaked in to see I am Legend and I am happy I did not pay to see it. It was boring!!!!

Sweeney, on the other hand, was filled with fun starting with the actors, the score, the story and of course, the customes!

  • thanks

  • Great video. Pretty dress!

  • That fakey corset looks like ass. The rest of the outfit was fine, but you can find better corsets at Frederick's on sale for 20 bucks. It's definitely not going to hold up for serious tightlacing but it'll certainly look a lot better.

  • the corset did not fit

  • This is one of my favorite videos. I absolutely love you guys.I'm going to make this next weekend.

  • perellis elixer smells like piss

  • ooo.. hh I want to see this movie npw.. i´m really sad becasue i LIVE in mexico and i cant see it until.. january 25 or maybe februrary HELPPP PLEAS EIF OYU ´VE GOTTEN IT PLEASE SEN ME A MESSSAGE

  • I watched this movie and it was good some parts were so bloody and gorey it made me wanna close my eyes also good music and the human pie part is nasty lol

  • Too me the musical has a certain magic that the movie didn't. The movie didn't flow as well as the musical. The musical has more substance/beauty of a real show.

It's odd/difficult to convert a musical into a movie. In parts where they were singing it was extreme/laughable and felt like a hollywood horror flick.

MUSICALS HAVE THERE OWN DIFFERENT WAY OF ENTERTAINMENT AND MOVIES HAVE THERES.

    TRY TO MAKE LES MIS(musical)INTO A MOVIE(haha)

  • I love that lavender, victorian homemade dress. Now I want to make one.

  • loved the homemade dress! but not so much the lilac corset >: ah well

  • drool-i love the outfit! it was amaaazing!

    JOA

  • That dress came out SO beautifully! I went to the premiere, and I just layered a black peasant blouse and skirt under this flouncy velvet bodice-y thing, with a black choker and a pillbox hat. It didn't occur to me to dress up until the last minute. Great movie, great episode. I love your show!

  • That was by far one of you best!

Loved the dress and the shirt!

    Happy holidays TH!

  • i luv luv luv that dress.

  • Fuckin' sweet dress Corinne!

  • AWESOME. I love thiiiis, Colleen Atwood is amazing. I must admit that seeing lil 'ol ThreadBanger being sponsored by a big bad(yet amazingly kickass) movie has me sorta worried, but growing is definitely good. Just don't change your lovely DIY ways!

  • the purple skirt was cute until she added all of the other non matching parts to it and only God knows what she was thinking with the "sleeves".. I think there was too much going on there.

  • that's the beauty of doing things yourself...you can make it how you like it. don't take my design as the final end all be all. i liked it that's why i did it that way.

    xoxox

  • Rob, your always wearing a bad ass beret type hat, i doubt i could by them so, could you show me how to make it? if you can, thanks

  • Colleen Atwood's work is amazing! That is so cool that you got an interview with her! Liked the dress, too... minus the purple corset. I thought that didn't really go with the rest of the dress.

  • Great show guys! Loved the fact you took an interview and had it inspire some awesome clothes

  • ..that dress was sWEEt...More dresses please ?? And where to get that dye...i thought they only had fabric dye in Mexico >.>

  • Rit dye can be had at Walmart or most any department store. I've even seen it at grocery stores.

  • Search on google video for Walmart: The High Cost of Low Prices and watch the video. I think there are probably better places than Walmart to buy your dye.

  • You can find fabric dye in Canada as well. I'm not sure about the States though...

  • Gosh i love this show!!!

gah! that dress was gorgeous...minus the purple corset... lol

  • i just saw Sweeney Todd today, it was teh awesomeness

  • A great episode.

Can you tell us ways to use outgrown kids clothes?

  • Well, now I pretty much have to dye my white skirt. You guys Rule!!!

    I heart Johnny Depp! *Drool*

  • I just saw that movie yesterday.. It was pretty good, but depressing.

    And great ideas.

  • thts sooo kool! sweeny todd & tim burton is soo kool too! great episode. i wish i could do something as good at that.

  • i have to say this is by far one of my fav episodes!! like second to the beanie epi!!

  • I was nervous that you guys were selling out, but I'm happy to see I was wrong. Colleen Atwood is one of my favorite costume designers and anything Victorian inspired is worth the effort.

    Great Job.

  • I really could care less that this was sponsored because we got to see an awesome interview. Plus anything you two do is amazing.

  • You guys are cool. I get alot of ideas to teach my high school kids in my fibers class. Now if I could just convince the guys that fabric and fiber is for them too.

  • great episode guys! love the ideas for the victorian outfit. too cool.

  • amazing, one of the best episodes yet :)
