Just found this one by accident today RagJazzT. Too fun-can't believe this was Frederick's first WCRF!! He was slaying all them ragtime fans with his signature delightful and charismatic approach to the novelty songs even then...
Clever song, clever writing for rag time in the roaring 20's when life seemed grand, just before the great depression, right? - He added the modern line Viagra... Too funny. Thanks.
He is a great piano player and entertainer. We first saw him at the West Coast Ragtime Festival at Sacramento in November, 2006. He will be there again in 2007. We can hardly wait to do it again!tdub1941=Tom Warner
Glad you liked it. Yeah, maybe a bit corny, but what would one expect from an Eddie Cantor number from a 1931 movie? I like Fredericks cute little corny punch line about not needing any Viagra at Niagra!
Well Shucks! You better be getting busy cause I'm getting ahead of you. Might you be attending any other upcoming festivals? I am always at the Scott Joplin Festival in Sedalia, MO during the first week of June. Hope to see you there.
Hey, I was sitting right behind you when you recorded this! I still have to put together compilation videos from the festival, like I did for the Sutter Creek festival. I recorded more than 40 minutes of material at the WCRF, so it's a lot of editing to editing to work out, and I've been procrastinating!
Frederick Hodges is just great. His performances are great fun but he's a very accomplished pianist too. A great talent.

Hi MizTeaparty!
Yep, the old doc has been at this more a few years now and pretty well knows what to prescribe for an entertainment starved audience!

I read on his website that Dr. Hodges first WCRF was in 2004... of course he's been with RSJO for over twenty five years, since he was a mere pup!

Delightful. I wish there had been piano teachers like Dr. H. when I was learning to play in the sixties.
