@yrekabill Less drag on the battery and some tracks require at least one. Just like this one running at night, the track announcer (among others) want to see the light, just in case something happens; break down, wreck, etc.

@BlackWaax More about low end torque then hp, which is why most imports cant do one. And it all really depends on the wheelbase and weight distribution. Some can do it with 400lbs of torque, some need 600-800. Also you are most likely going to need drag slicks, since street tires will more then likely slip and spin instead of sticking and lifting the car.
