Like how you pick up the tempo. Many of the early blues legends did that, building excitement into their music. A young feller with old techniques that few practice or even know about today. Must say I like the sound of the National better.
Man, I love the blues. As a white kid, I get looked down a lot when I play the blues. You know, the white boy blues and whatnot. But man, I love the blues more than any other kind of music. And I love hearing it done like this. On a resonator with a slide and the soul singing
Saying a white guy can't play the Blues is like saying a black guy can't play Mozart. But, I know what you mean. I love Blues, but I play a lot of old "white" Hillbilly music (the stuff my grandfather loved) and that helps balance it out. Just dont' play the Blues like Clapton, and you'll be alright. Oh... by the way, Mr. Wilent... I play old Harmony guitars, too.

The reasons change as you get older and mature, but it's still the blues. Being picked on as a little kid feels just the same as getting fired from a job.
Oh, and I forgot to mention that I love the rythm of your foot tapping.
It's in beat and all, but it has a swank to it in the timing. It's weird to explain.
thank you for sharing this? I enjoyed this greatly! :]

Son House was the original and influenced Robert Johnson's version which was a good bit different. It was autobiographical for Son to some degree.
Nice sound to this version.

Who's this orginally by, Blind Willie? I can't remember where I first heard this, but I've been in love with this song from the beginning.

It's credited to both Son House and Robert Johnson, but my favorite version is by a Georgia band called Delta Moon, with Gina Leigh on vocals...
