This is awesome. I really liked your Jazz version of Saria's song too. But... Is it just me or is your piano slightly out of tune? Particularly in the bass section. It sounds slightly off. I could be overly picky as a result of my guitar training but it sounds a little out of tune.
Oh wonderful! I haven't heard this song, as I haven't played any Zelda games before Minish Cap, but I thoroughly enjoyed this! I would love to learn to play it if I could, but I'm a woodwind player and I'm only able to play one handed piano at best. D:
The original part sounds like something that Nintendo would have remixed for Spirit Tracks. This whole song would have went very well with the game. Great job!
I also love the Song of Storms. I was so excited when I first heard it. I thought, "Whatever Ocarina song this is, it'll be amazing". Ha, comand of the weather... not what I thought it would be, but still a cool power.
Back to your video. Very well done. Even if the piano is a little off, it is to be expected with school instruments. Maybe ask the music teacher to let you tweak it a little? Your improvision is to be applauded as well. It fit together wonderfully.
@HeldbyGravity It's great how Ocarine of Time emphasized the importance of music in people's by giving melodies a tangible ability in the game. I find it very inspiring.
Yes...this is a very terribly tuned school piano! I've started seeking out better pianos to make videos specifically on, so I think this should be better in the videos from now on...the Piano improvisation with Cards videos are recorded on a better piano.
I'm so sorry about that! It's becoming obvious looking at some other comments that this is a much bigger logistical issue than whether the piano is digital or not. I'm going to be making newer videos on good grand pianos in public or in friend's houses, or use a digital. Will post more soon!
like around 1: 55 to the end was truly my favourite part...i think you could totally make zelda music a gazillion times better...i hope nintendo looks at these....they need talented people like you working on the games.
@kentokhromatic do you have sheet music for this?

Whoah that's amazing! I like the whole thing! If it's possible, record it with a keyboard to your computer and make a mp3file!

@Curreeuss What wind instrument do you play?

@kentokhromatic Well, three actually. Clarinet, saxophone and flute, and I play around with other stuff I can find.

I really like the stuff you added to it. Sounds real natural/good...aside from the wonkiness in the piano

@SquillDiggles Thanks! Have you had a chance to check out my other original material? Maybe you'd like it. I have an orchestral piece on my YT now.

I especially love the newer parts you have added! it just seems to fit so well and it's less repetative than the original which is lovely.

Are you a jazz pianist
coldfirevideo 2 years ago
Yes, although I've studied classical piano as well, but my primary strength is improvising, I think. I identify myself as an improvisor and composer.

its perfect, but i prefer it without the intro :D

Then you don't think it's perfect.
Also, great song. Need to tune your piano though.
