  • The B57 was called the Canberra by both UK and US air forces. It was used as a light tactical bomber during the Vietnam unpleasantness. The first one I ever saw was at Brookley AFB, Mobile, Alabama during the late fifties. It was never known as the "Stratobomber", but was called the "Cranberry" by many of its USAF crews.

  • THE ONLY REASON RUSSIA WAS ALLOWED TO REACH BERLIN FIRST ? Truman wimped out !!!! In fact, Communist Russia would have been rolled over like wheat ripe in the field if not for the American lend-lease program and Nazi Germany's bad winter prep.. Their officer corps was devastated by that murderer Stalin. Truman decided for politicial reasons to hold the co-greatest Tank general in history to stop and hold so they could. The other cGreatest? Hands down Rommel. The worst, bridge to far Montgomery !

  • No Moron. I have a 166 I.Q. I have degrees in 3 fields and had straight A+s in history thru out my school years. As for your Ename , it must reflect all those years your mommy was trippin' on LSD, shrooms, mescaline and other great summer of love drugs then one day at Altamont she shit you out in a porta potty and the potra potty company insisted she tack her trash with her. Russia was getting ass handed to them as they had the only worst dick-tater in charge than Herr Shitler. WE SAVED THEIR ASS

  • im black

  • Russia beat Nazi Germany ? On what planet in what universe. In this one there was the lil' ol mater of that madman Stalin murdered all his military talent and, HELLO, we the U.S.A. pretty much pulled everybodys chestnuts outta the fire !! Nothing sadder than a clueless revisionist moron !!

  • @pinwizz69 You are a retard in a wheelchair.

  • @pinwizz69 - Mate, check the film archive. Who made it to Berlin first? Methinks it was the Red Army, not the Red, White and Blue one.

  • Jesus, gillyvision, I don't know where to start; 1) You beat the japs, not the nazis. It was the USSR who beat the Germans ( with a little help from the USA and Britain). 2) The B57 was not the first US jet aircraft (that was the P-80 Shooting Star). 3) The B57 was not called the "Stratobomber". The B47, B52 and B57 all had that name, but not the Canberra.

Bo you actually know anything at all about American military aircraft?

  • @TheFunkadelicFan Well, he seems to know about British Aircraft though, considering the "B57" was the English Electric Canberra with mods....

  • @TheFunkadelicFan You're full of Bullsh*t.

    2) You're partially correct - The B-57 was not the first US jet aircraft, but neither was the P-80 Shooting Star - The correct answer is Bell P-59 Airacomet.

The B-57 is only (partially highly as in D and F) modified versions of the british EE Canberra.

    3) This is weird. First you claim that the B-57 was not the Stratobomber, then you claim that both the B-47, the B-52 and the B-57 was called the Stratobomber.

  • The facts happen to be as follows:

    B-47 StratoJET

    B-52 StratoFORTRESS

    B-57 StratoBOMBER

  • Next time you do a parachute jump, gilly, try not to land on your head again.

  • gillyvision: WRONG on your little comment. I'm NOT a Brit. What I AM is an American who actually knows something about aircraft. B-57 wasn't built by Lockheed Martin, it was built by the Glen L. Martin Co. long before L/M existed. The aircraft's design and also the engines were British and built in the USA under license. Two are still flown by NASA doing research. I expect NASA's research is just a little bit better than your's. Dan
  • gillyvision:

    Well, there goes YOUR credibility!

Is that the best you can do?????

    Dan

  • HEY dAN SUCK MY REBEL DICK SHMUCK

  • @gillyvision Close; it's spelled "schmuck". Not bad for a goy, however.

  • This is a bunch of bull****

  • gillyvision:

No mystery here! The Canberra was a

British Bomber built under license in the

US as the B-57. Look on Wiki under

English Electric Canberra and there's all

kinds of information. Just because YOU

    don't know about something doesn't

    make it a big mystery!
