  • WoW you have to be the first racist redneck jew. Take your rebel flag stickered guitar and walk it into the ocean.

  • Nice chops man, good technique- ROCK ON

  • Oops. I thought it was the way I did it that was a zakk harmonic. Nevermind! Haha. Gotta keep mine a secret though :o

  • nice dude your tone sounds like dime's

  • your tone sucks..

  • tone sounds good i like it, and thanks other videos dont give shit for help, thank you!

  • dude your tone blows ass...but youre good.

  • you needd to be on bridge PU its easier and have lots of treble on amp

  • Is it the Thumb that has to touch the string? or the other finger?

  • LMFAO @ the poster in the back of the room

  • Hey friends, its is necessary to have the amp volume very loud?? Because I have problems with the harmonics and the tappings, they sound very low (Only I can hear them.) Or it is necessary a good distortion??

    Thanks a lot

PS Nice picture at the wall, the Shrek movie cat.

  • Wow your effin goood!

  • harmonics and pinched harmonics are very different. This is a pinched harmonic

  • i agree

  • he played the song

destruction overdrive - black label society

  • thx man! it really helped a lot!

  • Thanks man you are my hero, i can do it finally x)

  • i cant do them, no matter how many times, no matter what way i hold the pick, i cannot do pinch harmonics.

  • if your action is to low the sound of the harmonic wont come out

  • Also try to change up your picking hand's position back and forth across the string, it helped me a ton.

  • it also could just be your set up, you may be doing it right, try putting gain up a bit and/or try it on all pickups with pickup selector and keep practising

  • Any tips on doing harmonics on the low strings?

  • Same technique. The most important thing is that your thumb touches the string.

  • still cant EFFING DO IT :(

  • sweet.....

  • the south will rise again lol

  • thanks, really helped

  • thanks man

  • Do you use any pedals on this one? if not, what amp do you have? sounds good man!

  • THX MAN HELPED LOTS...

  • Pich harmonics are easy once you can do them, so if you cant do it yet, keep practacing and you will be able to do it in no time

  • What's the name of your guitar??

  • Great drive man, I love it

but I can't do the vibrato

  • Thangs Man :D

    It's real helps me out!!!

  • thanks dude.

  • Oh! thanks a lot. I had no idea how to get this sound and you were very helpfully. You maybe are not the best so the first video I saw was yours And was so helpully. Thanks again.

  • r those pickups the epiphone or the gisbon ones?

  • there EMGs

  • are you related to joe wylde?

  • wtf... Wylde isn't even Zakk's real surname

  • zakk isn't his real first name either.

his full name is Jeffrey Phillip Wielandt.

  • we know foo'. would you rather have people know you as jeffrey wielandt or zakk wylde?

  • It's called a pinch harmonic you fool

  • dude thanks! i've been trying to figure out how to do that forever. rock on!

  • yeah but there are different harmonics everywhere above the microphones, which ones should we use?

  • .....ur a clown lol

  • no, metal is for emotion and fun, blues is for passion like cloud said, and emo is for crying pussies

  • I love both, blues is for passion, metal is for expression. both of you guy are fucking stupid.

  • this is cursed! that is cursed!

  • I love you. zakk loves you. that was bitchin man.

  • that......was.....sick........Awsome man!

  • that was sick sounding

  • SDMF

  • nice

  • I suck at it

  • yeah me to

  • how do u make the deeps ones like in not going away?

  • What amp are you using?

  • wats up wit the rebel flag

  • nice shrek cat in the background.

  • i cant do these with a pick but i can without one.

  • NICE punisher skull lol

  • great leason, it helped alot :)

and btw, love the guitar, and great choice for pickups,

thats what i got on my bc rich bich

  • you wiggle the note around a bit lol its called vibrato dude !

  • i love the caddy belt buckle lol

  • OMG I'VE SEARCHED SO LONG FOR THIS SOUND :] great great great vid!!

  • should i use a light or a heavy pick for this?

  • try both and see what works better for you. sometimes i find a heavier pick does the job better.

  • acuestate achocarlos forever!!

  • you look like a loser but play like a king

  • my pics is big head the very good

  • good helpful video

i got the same guitar, except i dont have

    those kickass emgs :(

  • hey this one is good all the other crap i c iss shit this helped alot thanx man

  • I don't know if it was mentioned before, but where you strike the note matters a lot, when picking harmonics you can find different sweet spots by moving your picking hand up and down the strings, on my guitar I find that picking right on top of my neck pickup is the sweet spot, always use your bridge pickup for squeeling harmonics, and new strings help too.

And a hot pickup like a EMG helps a lot too!

  • oh my god, you can do a pinch harmonic! great job!

  • nice poster lol

  • dont worry ill make sure i put my thumb rrreeeeeeeaaaaaaaalllllllllllyyyy close 2 the tip of the pick.

    lol

  • awesome, but easier said then done for most people, bottom strings are a B#@$%@ to do it on

  • try placing your right hand at the 12th fret, thats the easiest harmonic to catch, especially on those tricky little strings

  • i think the crybaby from hell is better

  • A pickup is like the microphone for the guitar, they are the square thing under the strings. Emg is just a brand of pickups, theres several other brands too.

  • las pastillas carnal

  • which pickup is in the bridge..and whuts beter the crybaby from hell or the zakk wylde cry baby

  • Wylde..

  • It depends, I think the Wylde pedal sounds too high pitched.

  • emg active pick ups really help to,,,,,nice tone man!!!

  • WHAT KIND OF AMP

  • That's fuckin deadly, 5*'s

  • omg lol, shrek cat in the background

  • kickass distort man..

  • whats your amp

  • wut kind of distortion do u use? i like the sound

  • its a zoom 505 effects pedal

  • yeh i agree the his tone sounds like a box full of bees...so sterile and thin :(

  • lol....calm down haha

  • I was wrong for saying that. as long as your happy with what your doing thats all that matters!

  • Well dude, take into concideration that his camera might not have good sound quality...

  • wow man! im really impressed with that! not just the harmonics..but the masterfull playing and everything! btw...i like your kittten poster in da backgroud lol.

  • I don't do harmonics with my thumb. I do it with the middle part of my hand..like..when you palm mutate..I use that for harmoics..

  • it makes no difference where you hold the pic. Its all about the angle and "flick" (sardova if you are a college grad) of your thumb/rst.

  • what amp and distortion edal do u have

  • wow man!a really good sound!what amp are you using?

  • I've been playing guitar for a while now, but im having trouble using my pinky, however, im pretty decent with my other 3 fingers. I know that using the pinky is an essential part to guitar, but i just dont seem to have that dexterity to use it. Do you, or anyone that reads this have any pinky usage advice, hints, or help? Or is it just that my ligaments are too tight and will just have to use my 3 other fingers forever?

  • just keep practising and eventually it comes easier

  • I know it sounds like an old generic answer but you just have to practice. Just start slow and go faster if as you get beeter.

  • try doing scales and incorporate ur pinky into it. start slow and work up the speed and eventually ur pinky will loosen up and it will be easier to play

  • Awesome dude!

    Thanks for the lesson!

  • .....is that a seven string?

  • nope. just a six. in regular tuning too.

  • damn i cant :S:S:S i wanna do it ='(

  • The Zakk Wylde pickups help in anyway?

  • i feel they do make a noticeable difference in the way the harmonic ends up sounding.

  • dude nice confederate flag between the pickups

  • rebel yell baby!

  • hehehe! pussandboots in the backround!cute=]

  • What distortion do you use bro? (And good job)

  • im using a custom set distortion from my Zoom 505 effects pedal. thanks!

  • Comment removed

  • actually im in Standard tuning for this video. the distortion im using is made by using completely custom settings that i came up with...just fuck around with it man...im sure you can come up with something equal to, if not better, than mine.

    getcha pull brother!

  • thanks for this video i can play Distruction Ovedrdirve almost perfect but i didn't know how to get tha weird sound, thnks dude =D

  • i can get perfect ones on the high strings, but the low ones are hard.

  • at the moment i cant do it very well, but i am saving for a better guitar that will cost me a few hundred so maybe that will make it easier.....

  • Yes, more expensive gear improves skill.

I'm jokin, for the most part it does.

  • i can get it now alittle but its really soft and i xcant make it as quick..wat am i doing wrong.

  • it isnt hard at all, just practice this by picking randomly the strings, sooner or later you will get it

  • haha looks easy enough. idk if my pickups are that good though

  • i still dont get that sound. damn.

  • Maybe you forgot the kickass distortion. Just some random roland-amp distortion isn't the right shit. For the real distortion you gotta have a pedal (like Dimestortion and Dr.Distorto)

    Was this infio helpfull?

    Greetz Rolf Eijgenraam

  • i got a digitech rp250 i try to get that sound but if some1 can just give me a link to donload it from some one already masde itd be really helpfull

  • hahaha nice puss in boots poster in the back

  • cool

  • dude those are the same pickups as these

    product--ESPKH202 look it up.

nice throaty sounds, no doubt in my mind that you pickups are atleast similar, to this product I linked check it out

    KIRK HAMMETT OWNS!

  • EMGs 85s and 81s help alot with his tone. That tone you usually can only get with active pickups because they have a higher output

  • What gear are you using? Your tone is amazing.

  • dude, you have the most brutal tone i have ever heard.

    kudos to you my friend

  • thank you so much dude.

  • what is the song at 1.17 ?

  • Killer tone. I usu a Zoom GFX8 pedalboard and run it through a Marshall stack, and you guessed it, it ROCKS.

  • Thanks, I have always struggled trying to do harmonics, but now I can do it!!

  • do you have a marshell amp??????????? i have a fender amp

  • what kind of harmonics would you call that?

like theres pinched harmonics, natural harmonics and so on...

  • no, it's pedal!!!!!! I now! it is impossible to make it

  • do you need some equipment to play those harmonics, or do I only need some practise?

  • it always comes down to practice, but equipment never hurts bro.

  • You use a pick???

    Just use your finger...lol

  • nice distortion bro, i like it

  • nice poster :P

  • no, its a Zoom 505 effects pedal with a custom distortion.

  • Wow ! thanks man, thats helped me loads, im learning the Unfirgiven solo (kirk hammett) and that first harmonics part was really fucking with me !!! I cant believe its that simple :) your guitar sounds sweet :)

  • awesome! thanks for the kind words. good luck with it!

  • You should sayd" Hold the pick so that your thumb touches the string, and go off right after the sound comes." Thats what id say;)

  • thanks man, what tuning are you in?

  • im in standard for this one.

  • Thanks for the video. I didn't know how to use the right hand

  • i play an ibanez jumstart i can't seem to play it can someone teach me?

  • hold the pick so that when you press down on it, your thumb expands so it will tough the string.

  • ok, tomorrow ill try it with max gain marshall ovdrv and my epi sg g400.

  • Ok it is not Zakk Wyldes pinch harmonics, It is just pinch harmonics that Zakk Wylde uses in a song. :) But good man!

  • Helpful. :] thanks

  • dude thanks. it flows great once u apply it. thanks a lot man. sharing is good.

  • hot, pinch harmonics are soooo 80's

  • i'm a very stupid person, i used to think that that kind of sound were made on a pedal, :(

lately i've been doing the thing u said, but i figuered it out on my own, i used it as a replacement for the pedal, i thought i was a genious...

i didn't realised that it was the same, because i have a crappy pedal with not a lot of distortion and it doesnt sound very defined

  • theres a kitty behind u lol

  • Thanks man!! I use those exact same pics! Been trying to work on those "Zakk" squeals for a while now!!

  • thanx man this was helpful

  • Nice job man.

  • I can never get the pinch harmonics to work on the lower strings. Am I doing it wrong/just need to keep practicing or do I need better distortion or something?

  • practice them without the pick. thats how i did it. just clipped the string bewtween your two fingers on the way down. once you get them without the pick, its a breeze to do with a pick.(this practice technique only works good for the wound strings, E A D)

  • You got it! i use my acoustic to play that way. If you master it without an amp and a pick, the rest is a breeze. i love it that this guy calls it a harmonic. Which it is. There is no "pinching". That would kill the note! Peace & f the 80s lingo!

  • ha that was destruction overdrive you were playing right?

  • nice! good job...

  • thanks man awesome

  • Thank you!!!!!!!!

  • CHECK MY PROFILE,VERY FUNNY,PLEASE

  • wtf i have EMG kfk and they are dearer than HZ but doesnt sound that good :O? whyyyyyyyyyyyyy

  • wtf? this is a horrible vid

it doesnt explain n e thing

  • Your awesome, I love you

    ^_^

but I hate your shrek-cat-thing poster

  • does pickups matter for pinch harmonics ? cause i sure get a lame sound and im using a beginning guitar lol

  • well. they do but they dont. different pickups produce different sounds. if u have a shitty bronze warlock or a 99 special starter pack then the pickups wont pick up the rich sound that higher priced guitars have.

  • thansk for the video i have to practice that soem more so i can do them really fast

  • Is there anything wrong with doing the pinches with your middle-finger nail?? I find it alot easier to do them that way
