  • In addition to her Music talent she also knows how to Strut...

  • This song sooo grows on you! I have to say, though, at the end of the video, I'm sure glad that Boombox isn't plugged in! ; )

  • @ 3:42 = Where she get that JAMBOXX ???

  • I like the music first but, I agree with manny298, I could do wonderful things with those legs. At least they would be wonderful for me.

  • Every album she makes, there's always that one true gem. ...and when you think you've heard something amazing, she comes back on a new album with an even higher level of excellence. Love the song and video. Echos of the past, with shooting star speed of the future. Your fans really like you, Juliana. Your music makes us all happy. A bad day isn't so bad when you put Juliana on.

  • I love those legs

  • I really think this stuff is of a much higher quality than her cutesy pop songs circa the '90s.

  • The best looking legs... heh? o_0

  • Awesome song by an awesome artist from Duxbury Ma! Great backing vocals by Richard Butler!

  • Am I the only one who remembers this used to be another song?!

  • I love this song..

  • This is Juliana Hatfield at her best. This song gives me chills. Richard Butler from the Psychadelic furs provides powerful backup vocals.

  • When I'm writing new material for Small Saves, and need a break to relax, I'll listen to such great songs as this. Truly wonderful candy for the mind and soul. Timeless music.

  • The tune at the start of this song, doesn't it remind you of the beginning tune of Layla from Eric Clapton, sounds almost similar.

  • Great tune. Have seen her in the midnineties with the Blake Babies. She was amazing back then, she is amazing now.Great great song.

  • @HSMFOREWA Blake Babies FTW!!!!1!!!!1!one!!!

  • very good video and superb lyrics.......like this song......

  • She reminds me of indie artists like Lykke Li, Tegan and Sara, etc. who also needs more recognition in the music industry.

  • where's the love?????

  • Lookin' incredible baby! This album is just what I needed. Thanks Juliana.

  • She deserves more notice, incredible talent.

  • How did the CD player change to a stereo?!

  • I want to see another official video release from this beautiful album!

  • God I love this woman! A great song by a underrated artist.

  • The new record is coming out in February. We should get some new Juliana then.

  • Duxbury MA has produced some hot, talented girls but she has 'em all beat! What a talent!

  • Jules Rules !

  • cool tune, but does anyone know how, or why R. Butler is hooked up to this womans efforts?....He is one of my all time favorites....

  • Great great song by Juliana Hatfield - awsome back-up vocals by Richard Butler also.

  • She's almost 50, look at those legs!!

  • she´s 42 to be exact. Almost 50, phhh !

  • Born July 27, 1967. That makes her 42. Butler's background adds a great component as a *male* voice against the *lyrics* sung by a female. I love the production level. Sounds like the strings are real!! Are they?

This video looks a little too homemade, though.

  • this is a reworking of an old jh or possibly blake babies tune. just can't remember which. love her stuff, rock on.

  • "it should of been you" off " In exile deo" I believe it was 5 or 6 years ago. not Blake Babies

  • RAIN - sorta (Blake Babies song with carol kingian riff)

  • Okay, i love the song but I have two questions. Are we really going to believe that JH is using a portable CD player rather than an MP3 player? And is she trying to convince us that she's using the cassette recorder as a phone? Funny and odd. I love the song, video is okay.

  • I love this song too but it is sad that years ago JH write songs about how she was gona show up on the beach high fiven and now she is writing songs about being lonely. Maybe get a job as a librarian and then sing about the guys shes meets at the library? Forever fan.

  • this song remember me a little bit aimee mann style.. but they work together some years ago..

  • both attended Berklee, but Aimee was 7 years ahead of JH. Don't know if that influenced them in any way.

  • OK, so maybe she never broke big and sold all the records that her alternative rock contemporaries like Billy Corgan or Courtney love did.

But they're not writing kickass songs like this 15 years later now, are they?

This one is so cinematic. It would work perfectly on a film soundtrack.

  • Groovy

  • wow she had been my idol when i discovered her music at a really young age(11...i know) through older siblings. then i kind of went through different stages in music. I'm glad to see she is still producing good music. it must make other singer song writers envious, plus she is in really great shape for 38. good for her.

  • Actually, i think she is a couple of years older. 41 I think?

  • Wow...I use to be a big fan but moved on 2 or 3 albums ago. This song rocks...I ordering the album tomorrow! That's Richard Butler? I would have bet money it was John Strohm from the Blake Babies. Wishful thinking I guess. Good job JH! Looking forward to hearing the rest of the album. :)

  • At 3:24 Juliana has a look on her face that says I hate having you so close to my personal space. Not because she doesn't like her fans. She is just uncomfortable with us being that close. Just like in my sister she sticks her hand infront of the camera. I don't blame her for it, I just see it. I really enjoy all of Juliana's songs and videos.

  • I really like this song. I think the whole album is really good. I don't mind the "low budget-ness" of the video. The thing that sticks out for me is the fact that she doesn't perform or lip-sync in it (not that I'm against that kind of thing). Nice touch that Richard Butler is on background vocals, too. :)

  • Gorgeous song. Juliana is criminally underrated. She always puts out amazing albums and doesn't disappoint in the slightest. This one's one of her all-time best.

  • *I* am the "teen-aged-looking" guy she refers to on page 203 of her memoir--the one who handed her the "houseboy" package! I can die happy now :D

  • Haha. That's cool! It's such a great book and it hits on so many levels. Congrats!

  • She is so gorgeous, she must be irish. Tall, skinny, sexy soft milky skin, natural light hair, sheeesh when is she coming to NYC?

  • what a fox!! that was filmed a few miles from where I live.

  • This song deserves more publicity. I don't tend to like this brand of pop/rock, but this song is beautiful.

  • Anyone else notice that this is the exact same music as "It Should've Been You" off of In Exile Deo? Weird that she used the very same music and just changed the lyrics.

  • Juliana notes that "guitar riff and samples taken from 'it shoud've been you" off of Juliana Hatfield's in Exile Deo album" on How to Walk away CD

  • haha, yeah but she even mention in her blog that she WANTED people to notice that. It means you're enough of a fan to notice that.

Besides, I actually much prefer this song to It Should've Been You. Just my opinion. :)

  • 5 mins of juliana just walkin around and about three whole chords in the song. i'm all about it.

  • that intro just melts me

  • Don't ever stop making music Juliana!

  • I know. I think the day she stops making music, a part of me will die.

  • I just got hooked on to this.Damn what a sooong.2008?Who said "music was dead"?!

  • She is so beautiful, tall, milky skin, red hair, she must be Irish.

  • the video is a tad dull but i don't care. i went to see her last week in london. she was reading excerpts from her new book and then played some songs acoustically and then an electric set with a band including the blake babies' frieda on drums. a cool night. met her after the show and got the book signed.

  • Sure...a 'walking' video may not be original, but damn!...she's 41, and she's still out there, writing decent songs, looking hot, damn the trends. Always loved her, always will.

  • wow this video is bad. i love juliana and the new album is enjoyable, but this video isn't art, it's just crap. you don't need a big budget to make a great video, just creativity and planning, both of which this definitely lacked.

BUT, buy the new album! :D

  • Juliana could've become a boner-provoking, empty, superficial super-model. Instead she chose to become a thought-provoking, intelligent songwriter. I think that really says something on how strong she is.

  • Some of Juliana biggest critics are Juliana Hatfield's biggest fans. We want big things from Julina. We want to see Juliana on MTV and on the radio. I want to see Juliana become extremely popular. I want to see Juliana playing that guitar.

  • its too bad MTV doesnt play videos anymore. MTV 2 does. Sometimes. Do you like rap?

  • As always, Juliana does her own thing (about the video) and who cares what people think? The song is great, and the video was enjoyable. It was her, not flash or glam. Who cares if MTV picks it up? MTV and mainstream radio will never pick up Juliana. But her fans love her! I enjoyed it. :)

  • I like the idea of chucking the boom box in the ocean at the end. I'd be symbolic of her chucking the lonely hang up she still seems to have. Anybody else think she could benefit if she would just relax and be herself and people will like her music for who she is?

  • Wow, talk about a low budget vid. It's safe to say MTV won't pick this up. I really liked it! She should have chucked the boom box into the ocean at the end, though!

  • Her new album is great! I just got it today :D

  • Juliana is smokin' hot in this video. Nice stems :)
