We don't call it revolution, we call it liberation. Nobody wanted a communist revolution aimed at the estabishment of another dictatorship. Even those who were communist never tought about establishing a communist state, my grandfather was a partisan and survived the war, he is socialist.. but he always told me he never liked the soviet dictatorship.
It is wrong to call our anti-fascist resistance "a communist revolution". I am 100% anti-fascist, but i'm not communist.
@DiscoSource i don't think you understand what communism is, there is an establishment of a proletariat rule, not another joseph stalin. the ENTIRE working class will rule, the people will rule, there is no such thing as a 'communist state' if a country can be referred to as that, they are far from communist. to fight for democracy and freedom IS to fight for communism. if your grandfather was against the soviet dictatorship, then he was right to do so! that does not make communism bad.
How many communist countries were democratic and respectful of civil rights? None. North Korea, Soviet Union, China, Vietnam were/are dictatorship where civil rights are denied in the name of the "working class".
If there is no such thing as a communist state, then i repeat we italians didn't fight for a communist revolution, but for the establishment of a democratic republic. In our history since the Roman Republic, we always preferred bureaucracy to ideology... that's why the regime fell.
@DiscoSource but again, its rare to find a socialist whom is for these countries, i can call myself a pink elephant, but it doesn't make me one (i hope).
communism = a classless and stateless political system where property and wealth in a classless society is owned by all people within that society. does this sound like any country that calls themselves communist? communism is to aim for progression of all forms. not to install a powerful dictator but real grass roots democracy
That's why communism in all countries that claimed to be "red", turned into a totalitarian dictatorship, because a stateless political system cannot exist. There is one ideology, communism, that according to the ideology itslef "has aim for the progress and the benefit of the working class", but someone doesn't agree.. and the ideology must protect itself from collapse - so it turns into a dictatorship and enforces itself on the people. That's communism, a dictatorship.
@DiscoSource you cannot blame the ideology for the rise of bureaucratic counter revolution within the movement, remember this is a system that has yet to be implemented, who could get it done right the first time? we learn from their mistakes.
a stateless political system can and has existed, longer then statism itself. the earliest forms of the state emerged whenever it became possible to centralize power in a durable way. the development of surplus (the first of which was from agriculture
@DiscoSource only when power had the ability to be centralized, and when the development of classes arose did we form the state. the idea of communism is decentralization to a large extent, even capitalist economists agree that highly centralized economic structure is cumbersome and unfeasable, as was the case in the USSR.
just because someone doesn't agree with the system does not mean the system will become a dictatorship. the dictatorship comes by people not defending revolution

...so what if he is not italian?????i am russian and i can sing that song too,is that a blame?the meanings of the words matters.... greetings from russia..........
I live right across Italy and have met a lot of Italians during the summers. If you f*** up any Italian words they are like "no no no no !", and I'm like "well, do you speak any English?" and then comes up another "no" ; D
I've been in italy too and on my second day I was lost and asked a woman driver the "autostrade" when we stopped for red light. I had no italian and the only thing I knew was to say highway in italian. In 2 seconds she understood what I was asking and said follow me (I guess) then showed me the right way.
Hi Punisa, you are amazing musician! Love your voice love love...
I saw some discussion about the origin of the song on board. However, I originally heard the song from a Yugoslavian movie called "The bridge" . It was a huge hit when I was a kid. I am still in love with it!
Ok, I am Italian and at times I cry hearing this song, it's got so much meaning in it, this even though I am too young to have lived thorugh those war times it's like I lived through them thorugh my parents. But listen, small differences make a lot of differences. Listen to the original version. This is just too slow and lame to convey the original meaning. I appreciate the effort and that foreigners like it too, but only an Italian can make it right.
though italians have to work on the view other countires have of them... not insulting am italian and i love italy and all but the french and rest cant stand italy ...
This is an old folk song about a young girl working the rice field near the river PO' in northen Italy the young girl was hit repetely by her mean boss because she dint work hard.Check out the original song sang by Milva dated 1971. The song was changed during war war ll.
Idiot!! World war II, in case you didn't know it, finished in 1945... Don't you think that maybe it was Milva that used an old folk PARTISAN song and later changed it so it didn't have any political meaning?! Check your history next time...
ma va va !!! "un mattina mi son sveliato"? e questa sarebbe oh bella ciao? ma mi facci il piacere cos'è hai voglia di scherzare ? o ... do you want to joke??? ... with italian people??
Basically, this is the translation of the song , for everyone who doesn't speak italian: I woke up a morning bella ciao(hi beauty) I woke up a morning and i found the invader oh, partisan take me away, i feel i'm dying and if I die as partisan, you have to bury me and you'll bring me up there on the mountain under the shadow of a beautiful flower and every people that will pass there, will say "what a beautiful flower" and this is the partisans' flower died for freedom.
LOL ! ; D
I live right across Italy and have met a lot of Italians during the summers. If you f*** up any Italian words they are like "no no no no !", and I'm like "well, do you speak any English?" and then comes up another "no" ; D
Older generation at least :P

I've been in italy too and on my second day I was lost and asked a woman driver the "autostrade" when we stopped for red light. I had no italian and the only thing I knew was to say highway in italian. In 2 seconds she understood what I was asking and said follow me (I guess) then showed me the right way.
Mediterannean people are funny and helpful :)

Hi Punisa, you are amazing musician! Love your voice love love...
I saw some discussion about the origin of the song on board. However, I originally heard the song from a Yugoslavian movie called "The bridge" . It was a huge hit when I was a kid. I am still in love with it!
Keep singing and posting, dear Punisa!

This is an old folk song about a young girl working the rice field near the river PO' in northen Italy the young girl was hit repetely by her mean boss because she dint work hard.Check out the original song sang by Milva dated 1971. The song was changed during war war ll.
rmirlu85 2 years ago
Idiot!! World war II, in case you didn't know it, finished in 1945... Don't you think that maybe it was Milva that used an old folk PARTISAN song and later changed it so it didn't have any political meaning?! Check your history next time...
