Fishing at my cabin at Island Lake, MN

i really wish the dnr would put cisco in that lake. if they did island lake would be a serious walleye lake in 10 to 15 years. those walleye need something to feed on. the lake is definately deep enough for cisco. i caught a 31 inch walleye out of island and it was only 8 pound 7oz. the lake sure does have a mess of walleye under 1 pound though

@aanderson66 The DNR really sucks. They poisoned all the rivers along the North Shore to wipe out the smelt. And last year they let the water down really low and kept it that way all summer at island lake because supposively some rare "water birds" were nesting by the water. They really shouldn't let that water down so low, it's bad for the fish. It was really bad fishing last year at that lake but we did catch some nice fish.

LOL Minnesota has lots of Island lakes. The one here is in the St. Louis county, by Fish Lake and Boulder Lake, it's near Duluth, or in the outskirt area of Duluth.
