Yes I know these are amateur students but taking months to do this is beyond my belief. I am a professional lighting technician and I could program this in about a day or so. What took you so long out of interest?
@HabTasianet What took so long was the fact that it all had to be done in bits over a long period of time in between other events etc. I agree, given a solid run of time it could be done a lot quicker.
this really took you months??? this would take me bout a week or 2 depending on how good the controller is.... and why was there are retard walking around the stage with a smoke machine????
They are used but can't actually be seen. They were positioned at the back of the hall pointing forwards across the ceiling, but are just out of shot. Time wise it is the section from 4.40.
Great Job, I always love to see a conventional light show. I just get fed up with people pressing buttons and all these new fangled moving things do all sorts of crap.... give me a few pars and a smoke machine any day :P

We did a few of these back at college (well uni, but we all called it college..). Never had months. 2x weeks if we were lucky to program something at least this size. Definitely kept our D4 & Hog programming skills sharp!
Got to agree with everyone else.. should have picked a better song though! Something other than this or sandstorm. Pendulum would be a good bet IMO.
ur par 64 and other coventional lighting over powers the scanners and other inteligent fixtures but all in nice but could have done it to better music!
Listen yall theese things take a lot of time and thought and effort your cues were a little off and i am supprised no one cholked to death but hey nice one.
i can appreciate how much time and effort went into this. its obvious you did a hell of a lot more work then i'd ever be willing to do... probably cuz i'm a sound guy.
but its a really bad song. to do an outstanding light show you need some crazy techno beats or heavy metal.
from forming the original idea to getting it programmed and rigged was about 5 months worth of work, most of it done in the 2 months before the performance.
The team was split betweeen this song and Sandstorm (Darude - everyone knows it). In the end most of us agreed to this because it is very varied in style and good for lighting to.
2 months :O:O Don't be silly, it was even less than one month :P Although Tom did loads of preperation for it it actually didn't take 2 months to actually physically set up :P Also only two/three people actually agreed on a song xD
Most of the events we do are pretty standard concerts etc where we need to do 'normal' lighting. This was a presentation designed to raise the profile of the Stage Lighting and Sound Team within the school, so was just supposed to be an impressive display.

@tomsearsuk It is a very good show for the equipment you have. What dimmers do you have, you haven't mentioned them in your description.

Bare in mind that this is the shot from the back of the hall, behind the audience.
The movers and LED PARs were on-stage, where the audence's attention was best attracted.
