My favorite is the 87 cartoon from watching it when I was a kid around 93-96. I never read the mirage comics but I hear they're cool. the 2k3 show is an interesting take on the franchise being a blend of the two but 87 tmnt will be my favorite always. I mean the 87 turtles fight like jackie chan, have humor, and initialized belt buckles. :D

My opinion it goes Mirage = Best, then 2k3 and then 87 for having creating a legion of fanboys. Or 87 elitist as some guy on youtube called them lol!

I heard Hollywood is making a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles live action movie which is sort of a remake. AND it's gonna be gritty and Dark like the comics. Which means that it won't be kid-friendly which I think will KICK ASS!!!
The cartoon studio that created the 1980s Ninja turtles decided to change the turtles from ninja assassins to kid friendly super heroes that love pizza for money. Later the studios that created the comic books teamed up with 4kids to create a new cartoon that is closer to the comics(excluding blood). (plus I think it was a good idea to give the turtles multicolored headbands.)
Unlike the cartoons and movies. The original comic book Ninja Turtles are more associated with bloody violence and death. (and they all wore red bandanas)

If you think about it, The Mirage turtles only listen or care about their Splinter and splinter said "Get revenge on the Shredder" So they probably just sat and watched as the Technodrome blew up the city cause they figured its not their problem. Then when 03 Leo mentioned the Shredder, thats when they decide to do something about it.
I think the main point is that the '87 turtles and the Mirage Turtles are two extremes, one group silly, the other Badass, with the '03 like a cross between the two, and have the most distinctive personalities between members.
Hence why '03 Mikey takes an initial liking to the 87 turtles, but they turn out to be too silly for him. while '03 Raph takes a liking to the Mirage ones, but they turn out to be too badass for him.
the extremes are the best in this case, '03 are trully LAME (we i watch 'em i can see lame jackass douchbags written on their foreheads). plus i'm watching them for fun, not to make an analytic philosophy out of, although i could and the '03 in too. good thing the the mirage turtle dropped them back to reality.
so to make a long discussion stop here, let's stay at the fun value ;)

I heard Hollywood is making a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles live action movie which is sort of a remake. AND it's gonna be gritty and Dark like the comics. Which means that it won't be kid-friendly which I think will KICK ASS!!!

The cartoon studio that created the 1980s Ninja turtles decided to change the turtles from ninja assassins to kid friendly super heroes that love pizza for money. Later the studios that created the comic books teamed up with 4kids to create a new cartoon that is closer to the comics(excluding blood). (plus I think it was a good idea to give the turtles multicolored headbands.)

Wow, the Mirage Turtles are scary. I think I'd rather pick a fight with 2k3 Raphael than Mirage Michaelangelo. That shows how fucking hardcore and serious the Mirage Turtles are; their Mikey is scarier than 2k3's Raph (Mirage Mikey can probably kick 2k3 Raph's ass too. Raph wouldn't even see it coming!).

If you think about it, The Mirage turtles only listen or care about their Splinter and splinter said "Get revenge on the Shredder" So they probably just sat and watched as the Technodrome blew up the city cause they figured its not their problem. Then when 03 Leo mentioned the Shredder, thats when they decide to do something about it.

I think the main point is that the '87 turtles and the Mirage Turtles are two extremes, one group silly, the other Badass, with the '03 like a cross between the two, and have the most distinctive personalities between members.
Hence why '03 Mikey takes an initial liking to the 87 turtles, but they turn out to be too silly for him. while '03 Raph takes a liking to the Mirage ones, but they turn out to be too badass for him.

the extremes are the best in this case, '03 are trully LAME (we i watch 'em i can see lame jackass douchbags written on their foreheads). plus i'm watching them for fun, not to make an analytic philosophy out of, although i could and the '03 in too. good thing the the mirage turtle dropped them back to reality.

I like the 03 show as it got a balance blend of both of a kids saturday cartoon and the mirage comics. But mirage comics is the KING! :)
I use to like the 87 show as a kid. But as I got older the childish humour lost it's appeal. I mean I'm 28 now. I'd be lying if I sed I watch the 87 show and still piss my pants with excitement as I did when I was 8 lol.

Not always no, they did exaggerate the silliness of the '87 Turtles in having them ALWAYS be like that, but even in the 87 version they did have moments of that level of silly.

@SIMPDUDE lol in the mirage turtle comics the shredder was killed in the very first issue, he was pretty much just a plot device to make the turtles angry and, vengfull all the time, and he only played a minior part in the comics.
