  • I teared when i saw our Heroes in Afghanistan...

  • Amazing! I'm proud to be Canadian!

  • some of youtube comments sound like the girls at my school when they heard this rendition

obviously this is amazing and your jelus. the is such a good version and she did our country proud. we can admit that the orgiginal is known to be one of the worst anthems out there. shes amazing

  • Sung wayyyyyyyyyy to slow for my liking, not the way it is meant to be, she makes it sound like a sad depressed love song. Horrible.

  • @BostonCreamDonut For your liking maybe. But you are a sad, depressed person who doesn't know a good rendition of his own national anthem. Keep your opinions to yourself unless you're asked

  • @juzu4me Excuse me, I was in Kandahar for 2 years serving my country, I suggest you keep your opinions to yourself, I`ve put my life on the line for Canada, I think that gives me the right to express my opinions on my own national anthem. It appears you are the sad depressed and may I add ignorant person who has never done anything for Canada besides shovel the snow on your driveway. Think before you speak next time, that way you`ll spare yourself from looking like a fool.

  • @BostonCreamDonut Yeah bullshit, if you'd been in Kandahar you wouldn't be opening your fat mouth and putting down a rendition of your own national anthem, especially since you DID see members of our military who were actually there crying in this video while listening to it, right? Phony fool, it's amazing the number of anonymous people on youtube who claim to be in the Canadian military. You must be very sad and depressed to be the charlatan you are. Take your leave before I swat you, phony

  • @juzu4me Im not even going to continue with you. You are obviously a very immature indivdual. I could care less what you think, because I know who I am and I know I have fulfilled my duty as a Canadian in serving my country. If someone`s opinion on youtube angers you that much that you feel the need to throw a fit over youtube, you should really just crawl back into your little hole and wither away into obscurity. This is a free land and a free internet, grow up.

  • @BostonCreamDonut Ok you may have served but if you did you peeled potatoes and cleaned the washrooms. Quit fantasizing and get off your fat ass and do something constructive for a change instead of trolling around youtube and making dumb comments. The only thing you've fulfilled is your own empty desire to bore the shit out of everyone. Good day

  • @juzu4me Martin Luther King once said ``Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.`` I beieve that`s the perfect quote to distinguish you. Now please kid if you would bugger off now. I`ve got more constructive things to do with my leisure than to argue with a dull witted and oh so irrational child over youtube. ;)

  • I love Canada! Thumbs up if you do too!!!!

  • @imalittlehatter Also reply that you love it.

  • @imalittlehatter Come on everybody, we should have the most thumbs up on YouTube for being Canadian!

  • Canadians, i like your anthem so much!

    Greetings from Russia!

  • @KrunkFuOvie Absolutely

  • shes a very good singer

  • Im Just SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Proud To Be Canadian ! Gosh!!! <3 Love you Canada ! You The Best!

  • she is so stunning and has such a beautiful voice. one of the best ive ever heard

  • I love Canada's people.

  • slow enough

  • Canada = BEST COUNTRY EVER!!!

  • @SuperFabulicious

    hell yeah ;)

  • @BLOCK19PRODUCTIONS

    Not really...........

  • guys, I don't understand why must we argue for the reason that we are americans or canadians? the olympics is supposed to bring everyone together and have a good time. But it seem like this why when I look at your comments. what really seems like going on here is a word war.

  • nikki, keep at what you're doing. you are a great and talented singer who is also extremely gorgeous looking.

  • here's a message for all yall arguing " shut the fuck up and just enjoy the video!"

  • @adedsfsdedasewdaww

Noooooo i don't feel like it , but you can :)

  • Beautiful :')

  • U may have won the Gold medal. BUT U DIDN'T WIN NO CUP!!!!!!!!!! AMERICAN NHL TEAMS WILL HOIST LORD STANLEY UNTIL TEH END OF TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @BLOCK19PRODUCTIONS lololol u funny.. most of players on nhl american teams are canadian o;

  • @Hohnage

Ikr , they get drafted and stuff ,

  • @MandyCandy441 ye but they populated with canadians :D

  • @Hohnage

I knowww , most americans can't even play xD

  • @MandyCandy441 lol fo sho

  • @BLOCK19PRODUCTIONS

Hahaha plus winning olympic gold medal for hockey is wayyyyyyyy better because it's against a whole bunch of other countries , and no they won't by the wayyyyyyyy

  • @MandyCandy441 Um no, a Stanley Cup's way harder to win than a Gold medal.

  • @BLOCK19PRODUCTIONS When the Bruins won the cup ( team 95% Canadian, without a single American forward) where do you think the players brought the cup in the offseason, they toured their home towns in Canada, over the entire offseason the only time the cup was in the us was with Thomas for a little.

  • @iLuvBarRefaeli Right, Canadien players, American teams. But idk it seems that a couple times (2006 SCF, 2007 SCF, and 2011SCF) A Canadien team came close to, but never had the glory to hoist Lord Stanley. I don't have nothing against Canadien teams except Vancouver, who i hate with a burning passion, but it seems like only 1 or 2 Canadien NHL teams actually make the post season. NHL's a melting pot with many different nationalities. 95% Canadien.

  • @BLOCK19PRODUCTIONS You`re obviousy not vey good at math either I see, let me make it simple for you, there are 30 teams in the NHL, 23 of those are located in the US, 7 are located in Canada, and of those 7, 3 are currently in the process of major rebuilds( Ottawa, Toronto, Edmonton) with 2 more going to start soon ( Montreal, Calgary) Winnipeg is also developing, so a monkey could tell you each year 23 teams have a better chance at winning it all, compared to 7, its odds. Get it now.

  • @iLuvBarRefaeli True...... Toronto has 30 pts and is 2nd in the Northeast Division and really has shocked many teams. Edmontons gotta very young team but idk if they'll make the post season. (considering they finished like last place last year). Ottawa, idk.

  • @BLOCK19PRODUCTIONS Its also only a matter of time until and 8th team moves to Canada, gone are the times of teams in Canada moving south due to money issues, its the exact opposite now.

  • @iLuvBarRefaeli I know i've been hearign rumours since day one about re-locations of teams. I know they're will be a team whose gotta move, it's just a matter of when. I heard the Phoenix Coyotes re-location thing. I honestly think any team would have a better season in Canada just because of the loyal fans, attendence levels, and fanbases. Atlanta sucked and they needed to be moved but in my eyes, the "Yotes" will be the next team to move up North.

  • @BLOCK19PRODUCTIONS Don Cherry like him or hate him predicted and guarenteed that Winnipeg would get their team back, he was right, I believe he also said it for Quebec city, they would be the next city in line.

  • i'm american and i LOVED this!

  • @francofile714 hey canada is in america! USA, Canada & Mexico are in Northamerica!

  • Don't care if it's traditionally sung or no, I am still a proud Canuck.

    Oh, Canada! :D

  • 1/2 of the comments here make me want to grind my head against a cheese-grater.

Canada is one of the top rated countries to live in, anyone who disagrees, you are free to leave.

  • Harpers gestapo will send us to boarding schools (concentration camps) if we criticize the government in any way, i hate it here..

  • Canada used to be cool until stephen harper came along, now i'm ashamed of this police state.

  • noone cares for canadaXD

  • @twizzthenizz .. alot of people do thanks (:

  • Why can't I Like Comments????????

  • am I the olny one wqho thinks this is fucking amazing?

  • I think it would have sounded better without the background music. :) She has a pretty voice the music throws it off.

  • take that Greg Bartholomew!

  • fuck le canada, fuck les capitaliste, vive le québec digne, vive le québec libre

  • moi je suis de quebec et fier d'etre canadien aussi translation:im from quebec and proud to be canadien to

  • @Vaaaaaalleeeeeeeriee fuck you!

  • @Vaaaaaalleeeeeeeriee most of all ... fuck you :) ... jusss sayin' .

  • I LOVE CANADA ! <3

  • @PhoenixGalloway Really? 0_0 I say, if you have a big voice, use it. She certainly used it. lol

  • @PhoenixGalloway "When people sing like that"' What is that supposed to mean? You expect people to mind read you? They chose a very talented singer with a big voice. She sings it pretty straightforward without "oversinging", and you have to remain cool and stay right on pitch. Who would you have preferred? Obviously, the "manufactured" talents like Bieber, Cyrus, Black, Spears would not even be close to being up for the job-and no LiL Wayne and that crowd. The producers chose carefully, well.

  • @PhoenixGalloway You said she wasn't talented-how else can anyone take the slam "sings like Christina on family guy". Listened to Morisette's version-like it, but she actually sings it less straight and with more changes than Nikki-more "oversung." . Neither artist actually really oversings the anthem. "I believe" olympic opening and closing song was very successful and is still loved by Canadiens. The composer insisted on Nikki, as did CTV. You get needlessly offensive in your comments.

  • that was sensational! She is truely amazing! :D

  • So movingly sung; just beautiful. So fitting for its venue; the Olympics.

  • Wow I just read that she is only 17 now. I would've thought she is in her 20's during this performance.

  • @//Olovebe, in 1970 I found my love for Canada...but what is with all this frog language?

  • @bweber2k Some deal to avoid them plotting secession.

  • There is no words cover my LOVE to CANADA. I beleive after 5 years of studying and living there, i can say it's the best country in the world. I loved every moment i spent there and i think i will return.Thank you for embracing the humanity CANADA

  • WITH SINCERITY..I MUST SAY THAT CANADA AND ITS PEOPLE ARE WITHOUT A DOUBT SOME IF NOT THE NICEST,HUMANE PEOPLE ON EARTH..I SAY THIS AS AN AUSTRALIAN WHO LIVED AND WORKED IN CANADA FOR 4 YEARS..AND IN EVERY WAY WILL ALWAYS REMEBER THE KINDNESS ,OF THE PEOPLE AND THE BEAUTY OF YOUR COUNTRY..THANK YOU CANADA..

  • @75AYTONN Yes, Canada is a great country. But not everyone is the same. People are so racist sometimes. But then again, that goes for most places.

:( But most people are very nice.

  • Proud to be from a family of RCMPS and Canada of course!

  • goosebumps everytime

  • I think it's one of the most beautiful anthem in the world

  • Very nice! Love the military shown!

  • I love when they show the troops...Thankfully theyre home now. although, now theyre given leadership in Lybia..........anyways. Long Live Canada

Hah see if any fellow Canadians remember this chant: "Eh! Oh Canada GO!"

  • @xXTHEMASTERSXx

    Londres brûle-t-il?

    (Ahahahahahah!!!)

  • @yvonkcaouette lol...............I really wish I payed attention in French class :P

  • @xXTHEMASTERSXx

Euh...ello, hou are you, my name is John & Mary.

  • @xXTHEMASTERSXx

Ouais, je sais, vous êtes loin d'être aussi intelligents que vous le faites croire.

  • @yvonkcaouette Estoy a punto de empezar a hablar en español lol

  • I like this slow version. It made people actually listen to it instead of sing along and drown out the talent.

  • Canada's the Best! nuff said.

  • Being a True Blue Aussie Here, I think that the Canadian National Anthem is Truly one of the most beautiful anthems in the World!! ... I Love Canada!!

  • ....... I didn't know our anthem was even supposed to be sung this slow .___. It was kinda hard to follow Nikki's version xDDD

  • toooooooooo sssssllllloooooowowwwwww. Sérieux...

  • @0reo did you know half of this song is in french? maybe thats why is sounds wrong to you. canada is a french speaking country and nikkis from quebec.

  • @supbroham Canada is not a "French speaking country", asshole. What are you from the American South or just some ignorant backwater in Northnern UK? Canada is a BILINGUAL COUNTRY, English and French, and "Oh, Canada" is typically performed in both languages. Last time I checked we still speak fucking English west of Quebec. Not that I have anything against my brothers in Quebec but reading, "Canada is a French-speaking country" by some Limey is more than this Anglo-phonic Canadian can stomach.

  • this is gong to b the first verison of Oh Canada I hear tomorrow mouring <3

  • @AP450splash going*

  • I always cry at the parts with the Canadian Soldiers in Afghanistan singing along to it..

  • Vancouver <3

  • this gives me goosebumps every time.

  • heavenly voice

  • Because Canda Kicks all ass!

  • @Kylekilborn AAAAAAhahahahaha!

  • Why do I cry with this national anthem, and not with my national anthem?

  • @Olebrucanism she's an amazing singer <3

  • Honestly the Bilingual version is the one that should be sung, it incorporates the contributions/qualities of both founding nations in a song that can easily memorized and proudly sung.

  • this is the best version of the Canadian Anthem I have heard.

  • yea theres alot of memories of the 2010 olympics, but this is the one im probaly gonna tell my kids one day

  • i was born in vancouver canada and stayed there till i was 4 but lived in pennsylvaina u.s until i finshed 8th grade then moved back to canada and saw the olympics and everything it was so cool but when i was in america i learned how to speak english cause my family spoke french around me but it was a cool experience seeing the olympics in pearson and now im going to see the winter olympics in 2012 WHOOOOOO!!!

  • @poptart6066 if u live to see them... 2012! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

  • @CountryGirl5077 why because of everything going on in vancouver well trust me i will still be alive in 2012

  • @poptart6066 How do you know? Lol, JK.

  • French... That's all I have to say.

  • My Grandfather was from Montreal and I have a ton of family on my Dads side of the family in Toronto! And some in Kelowna in British Columbia! I am American born and Raised but I feel patriotic because of them!

  • It always brings a tear to my eye when i hear someone as beautiful as nikki singing our Anthem, it's canadians like her that make me proud to be who i am, our lakes, our parks, our forrests...well what forrests we have left..but most of all our troops who put there lives on the line to protect our land that we call home...i solute you all...CANADA RULES WHOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

  • My country will forgive me but this is the most beautiful anthem in the world.

  • I'm an American and I love this song. Maybe it's because I was a Blue Jays fan when I was a kid.

  • Thank you Americans. We appreciate your wonderful comments

  • I love how they showed us the reactions of our soldiers in Afghanistan.

  • lol Stephen Harper didnt look to excited :p

and he;s the Prime Minister !

  • @RobynnDianneee obviously stephen harper didn't sound to excited, he was sitting there pissed off as well that she doesn't know how to sing our national anthem.

  • American here, Oh Canada is WAY more patriotic than the Star Spangled banner. I love it how it's in french and english. It also is more simple in its meaning which makes it all the more powerful. When I headed up to Toronto for Flyers @ Leafs. I felt way more patriotic singing O Canada than the Star Spangled banner. Love Canada and hope to move up some day.

  • @snood1205 I agree completely, Canada is the place to be :)

  • It probably would have been better to sing it the traditional way for the olympics just for crowd participation and spirit - the place woulda been rockin for sure. As far as her version of our national anthem? Its the nicest sounding Ive ever heard and I remeber thinking "she really pulled it off..sounds great". bravo

  • Let me be the second American: this song is so beautiful that I plan to download it shortly from a paid download site. :) Greg from Pennsylvania.

  • i ama proud to be canadian

  • simply Amazing!

  • After watching and listening to this amazing young woman sing jazz live, this rendition of the anthem does not show her amazing talent. This is what the producers would have wanted but they missed the mark, absolutely no fault of Nikki. Nikki can do no wrong in my estimation

  • IT WAS WAY TOO SLOW! HOW WERE PEOPLE SUPPOSED TO SING ALONG!?

  • As an American, I kind of envy Canada for having an anthem that can be stylized. The American anthem is very limited in the ways it can be performed.

  • @kplewisvox Thanks... you're the first American I've ever heard say something nice about our national anthem.

  • @kplewisvox That is so true, even if there is a Spanish version hidden around somewhere.

  • Like.

  • their live the grizzly bears :O?!

  • She's a great singer & all..but I find theirs only 1 way to sing the Canadian Anthem, & this version isn't it :S

  • I miss the olympics :(

  • I think Nikki did a great job on our national anthem. She's so talented and a very true Canadian girl.

  • the only thing i like about that was the 'Oh Canadaaaa' at the end, the rest was composed like trash, they need to sing the anthem properly and make use of her amazing voice

    Long Live Canada :)

  • As an American, I adore the Canadian National anthem so much. This woman is truly inspirational in her performance. Bravo!

  • ok? well i still want my country to be shown the respect it deserves, and not be disgraced by one of its own.

  • Woah now.

  • well a true canadian would say either i sing our NATIONAL ANTHEM correctly or i won't at all

  • @brettski55 I actually prefer those stereotypical style of a national anthem. Like a person who sings with not so much fluctuation in his or her voice.

  • @brettski55 Here come the juvenile, petty haters group-repeated digs even challenging Nikki Yanofsky's patriotism. You sound more American. There is no need to go this far about an artist and I would never say this kind of garbage about another artist.

  • @aliciamontgomery2011 honestly to start off, i envy the americans and their patriotism, every other house you pass down there have the flags flying proudly, that isn't the case in canada. as a member of the canadian forces i believe in tradition, which is the way the canadian national anthem is to be sung, its not for a 16 year old to change something that has been there for way longer then she has been alive. with what i do, i felt completely disrespected.

  • @brettski55 I thought she sung it really well, it made me feel good as a Canadian to have it interpreted that way and change happens all the time. Also it has only been the official anthem of Canada since 1980, which is only about 14 years before she was born... and if you didn't like the French in the middle, I find that truly disrespectful to our bilingual country, and the french version of O Canada is also around 70 years older than the English version...i.e. it was the original.

  • Was I the only one to get shivers?

  • @claudiacloclo2 count me in

  • @claudiacloclo2 No you weren't! I also did.

  • Fuckin' Amazing Eh?

  • outstanding!!

  • better than Christina at our superbowl....how she missed a whole line i have no clue. nikki is fantabulous

  • Proud to be canadian
