I'm positive that the graphics were designed in Illustrator and Photoshop then were imported and animated in After Effects. There are a lot of things you can do in these programs, don't underestimate them.

I'm not gonna say he/she/they used ALL After Effects, but everything in this video CAN be done in After Effects. You just gotta know how to use the program. AE is one amazing program.. you'll be surprised what all you can do in it.

Rec6295 is correct... but no, Vegas isn't capable of creating motion graphics as good as this. As a previous Vegas user, it's mainly for non linear editing... adding one scene, then adding another scene, with maybe a bit of color correct and preset effects. AE is strictly a manual program where as you create stuff from scratch to make effects like this and others. To my knowledge, AE's only weakpoint in this video is the 3D modeling.. which like rec said, you would need a 3D program.

NOOOOOO vegas is crap and only for editing. No pro editor works with Vegas :P. Or should work with it. Get Avid Composer and if you must final cut pro..and for simple editing adobe premiere will do and works perfectly with After effects and adobe encore.

a lot of the elements in the beginning can't be done in aftereffects natively. I'd do these in a 3D program like cinema 4D, 3D studio max, maya, or zaxwerks if u need something quick and simple.

AE is for Motion Graphics and Compositing but Nuke and Fusion ONLY focuses on Compositing, but they are very very different from AE , they are Node based .. not like AE which is Time-Line based..

@Hacker2090 Nuke is a perfect choice for compositing 3D work into live footage.. because in nuke, you have so powerful controls over mixing 3D elements into footage... but if you are new to this, then AE would be your best bet because its a lot easier to learn ... NUKE and FUSION are very difficult to get used to.. hope you get my point...
