Best book I've ever read :) thankyou John Green. Made me overthink lots of things that are similar in my life to what happens in the book where and for that I am thankful :)
@makeorbreakgirlz He was really good in The Greatest Game Ever Played. Maybe he just needs the right role. Let's be honest, there's not much to work with in Transformers or Indiana Jones...he just keeps getting the crappy end of the stick.
I just finished the book today, and i loooved it. As soon as i got to the "After" section, i almost cried when i found out that she died! Alaska is my FAV main chara (in this order: Alaska, Takumi, The Colonel, Pudge, and Laura.)..great vid. it honestly fits it perfectly ;D!
This book is simply amazing, it has changed my perceptions and challenged my views on most things. I could try for weeks and not be able to explain how fantastic and how much of an influence this book has made. Even this video made me get goose bumps and almost cry due to the shear intensity and the impact the words make on you as a reader, John Green is pure genius. I also reccomend you look up the fictionalized account of the last days of Simon bolivar 'the general in his labyrinth' :)
Incredibly awesome book. Simply life-changing. In fact, when I go off to college in the summer, it's going to be right there on my bookshelf and it'll always remind me to look for my 'Great Perhaps'.
Once you read thios book your life is changed forever, I agree. One of the best books of all time. Are they making a movie out of it? I think it would make a graet movie.
A few yrs ago, 2 parents went out for dinner. A few hours later, the babysitter was calling to ask if she could cover up the clown statue in the kids' room, the father said,"Take the kids and get out of the house. We'll call the police, we don't have a clown statue." The "clown statue" is really a killer that escaped from jail. If you don't post this letter on to 10 videos tonite, the clown will be in your bed at 3:00 am with a chainsaw in his hand;sorry i didnt want tht happening to me
I suffered my own pain, but to survive...I also had to "forgive everybody everything" ala Tuesdays With Morrie...that book changed my life more than any advice from anyone. Maybe John Greens book will do that for kids growing up in pain today.
I have never forgotten, forgive everybody everything...and I continue to do so, going so far as to forgive myself. It's like a religion, but better.
I hope John becomes very famous. He has a great heart!

I think Logan Lerman should play Pudge!
Then Jennifer Connelly, if only she was younger, could play Alaska!
It would be one hell of a perfect match.

the idea of the book is that you don't know if she did or did not kill herself. That's what Miles keeps beating himself up about.

another good song for the book would be Wake Up by Arcade fire

hmm i wonder if pudge and alaska wouldve gotten together if she hadnt killed herself.
from the beginning i really wanted pudge and alaska to get together. i thought they would during the thanksgiving break
homeboyxpinoy 2 years ago
But she didn't kill herself, did you not pay attention in the end of the book?
WolfWatcher23 2 years ago
then who killed her?
homeboyxpinoy 2 years ago
Nobody. It was a car accident.
WolfWatcher23 2 years ago
didnt she do it on purpose though?
thats why she wrote straight and fast in that book.
and the officer said she directly hit the cop car
homeboyxpinoy 2 years ago
no one did. it was just an accident

I started crying when the Colonel started yelling "I'm sorry" over and over again. That part was sad.

are they seriously making this into a movie???
heyitscrystal 3 years ago
i dont know, it says (on wikipedia mind you) that the rights for the movie were bought, but it just depends on what John wants to do with this novel.
michiev 3 years ago
john i thnk sed a while ago he was working on the screenplay but i dnt no if that is going anywhere or not
haleyad1 3 years ago
The people who made Juno have brought the movie rights to the movie and John has given then a first draft of the screenplay.
But then, rights to movies are brought often and some are never made into movie, depending on how they feel about it.
I hope it does though
