  • BELOVED SHAMMI JI HAS PASSED AWAY , BUT HE WILL BE FORE EVER LIVED IN THE HEART OF HIS FANS

  • Shammi ji ko salaam,i am 21 years old and this music brings energy in me.

  • no one can come close to Rafi, EVER! man is a one of a kind!

  • priceless songs of my old neighbour in Bandra..love it

  • A nice lilting tuned sweet luv song! Rafi excels as always.

  • This song should have got the filmfare award that year. The liveliness of the tune is highlighted by the lively voice of Rafi. rafi has been recognized as the best singer of the millennium by the Birmingham Symphony Orchestra. I am surprised that the western ear could appreciate the great talent of this singer.

  • very sweet and melodious song. Rafi, Shammi and S-J team was one of the best. Beautifully constructed by S-J. Rafi saab is too sweet in this one.

  • there was only one Mohd Rafi who brought fame to the Hindi movies and music..with Shammi Kapoor as a lead actor in every box office films..not forgetting Mala Sinha who I admired till this day...I wonder if she is still single or married...but she was young at that time n how old is she when she acted on this film.

  • if I was alive in the year 3000 i would still be listening to Mohammad Rafi's songs :)

  • shammiji very good,

    Khoob Bhalo Dada

    very true

    Radhe Radhe

  • awesome

  • rafi is still unparalleled. fantastic song.

  • Mohd Rafi the greatest singer sang for the best shammi kapoor

  • such a beautiful voice rafi saab has brings a tear to my eye...will always be missed a true legend

  • First two line simple translation: My persona would have surely impressed you but left after ignoring me , I would have fired your heart if it had crossed mine.

  • Mere Rafi Sahib Tuse GREAT ho. Aap ka Jawab hai he nahi .... WAH......

  • I've been listening to this song over n over again..the melody really strike my heart n makes me a fan the yester years hindi films of the 60's

  • Beautiful sound by Rafi. Just love it tremendously.

One of my favourites. Shammi compliments Rafi's voice flawlessly as usual.

  • Nazar Bachakar Chale Gaye To Var Naa Ghaayal Kar Deta...Dil Se Dil Takra Jata to, Dil Mein Agni Bhar Deta Var Naa Ghaayal Kar Deta is such a sweet & truly melodious adorable song quite delectable amongst so many during the 40s - 80s & even later on...the benevolent Lord has brought within the hearts & aspects of so many beings (the credit really goes to Lord Rasraaj Shyamsundar) for creating us all as in such a time to let us all experience His kindness of His Love for us (glimpses of heavens).

  • quick question... how old are you all? (range)

and this music is toxic! :D!!

  • quick question

why dnt u take a long long walk off a very very high cliff n do the world a favor

    arsehole!!

  • mohd.rafi ,the greatest playblackback singer of 1960s,kishore kumar was self-trained genius, mukeshji was unparallel with his nasal intonation of voice, manna de was versatile with his ability to sing anykind songs including folks, classical songs ,romantic comedy;talatji was unique in his trimellow,- i admire and adore all of them.

  • wat abt hemant?!

  • yes,of-course Hemant Kumar was unique with his golden voice,i've also high regard for him, thank u for reminding me.

  • ms rajshri please post the translation in English for the lyrics..if U don't mind just 4 my sake.

  • you might want to just look for the translation online..put the title of the song and the word 'translation' into google and you should have it.

  • @rr88els: Agree dude. Why to unnecessarily start a war... this is music, which shud b just enjoyed, appreciated, shud make feel good.Plz b in peace and let others too.just enjoy the melodious song.Let Rafi's sole b in peace. Love to Rafi sir.

  • This is one of the most beautiful hindi songs I have ever heard. Then again , it is that magic combination of Shankar-Jaikishen/Rafi/Shammi Kapoor. It will still sound superb in 50 years time.

  • Rafi's voice fullfuls the empty space. amazing voice, sweet like an instrument

  • I like this song very much. Wah Kya Ada Hei""" I Love Rafi forever.

  • thr is no word in the dictionary which can describe mohd rafi saab, fantastic, superb, excellent , voice and a good human beiing cool, polite etc etc etc

  • it is fact that Muhammad Rafi was a great singer. fact is fact, listen his voice and compere to others you will find that kishore and mukesh were not even half of Rafi. khalid jan mumanday.

  • no doubt the greatest of all

  • @khalidmehmoodjan i would like to see anyone sing as well as kishore kumar, manna dey, mohd rafi saab or any of the legends. why debate about all of this? i dont understand! let your ears enjoy the melody, if you like it then alls well, if you dont like it then go listern to something else. i challenge anyone to say that they like ALL the songs that a singer has ever sang. you cant!!!! all singers have their own generes and limits so enjoy.. this is music enjoy it for what it is!!

  • how many trained singers are there who can sing half as Mohd Rafi sung the songs??

  • wht a load of crap!!

  • hmm. good point.

  • KK's lack of professional training limits him to just lighthearted songs. (eg. 'Ke pag Ghungroo' from Namak Halaal has a part with classical alaap. This part was sung by some other singer instead of KK since he could not do it). I am a singer with no professional training. I never compare myself r claim to be better than a trained one, since I know I cannot have the range of the latter. But Yes, both Rafi and KK have their distinctive styles and both are exceptionally good to listen to.

  • cannot compare the two. they were both great , KK in his own unique way, Rafi ji we all know. wrong to compare the two. leave it be!

  • I was born listening to Mohd Rafi, he is my Hero. Even I do not have the words that can describe this wonderful man.

Now, Rafi is not amongst us, but that divine voice and soul will never fade from this earth. He was, and remains, a major force in film music, the music of love, despair, hope, humoretc. Rafis voice had the healing capability. His music is as calm, as raging, as deep, as beautiful. It is the manifestation of the goodness and the divine. God Bless Him for ever. Ameen.

  • I totally agree with joshuadiesel. People who say that Rafi was over rated and Kishor Kumar was better than him. Then all of your music sense is yet to mature.

Kishor was good and perhaps better than others BUT he was not even half of Rafi.

At one place in this message thread a crap has mentioned that People got tired of Rafi. Such a day will never come. He will remain the undisputed King in the word of singing.

  • Wonder how can you say that KishorKumar is not even half of Rafi.you are comparing apples with oranges. Both of them had different singing styles.

People who know music will never make comparisions.

  • yes friend, you are right, both had different styles and there should not be any comparison... like they say "there should not be wars" but it does... and then I am talking about the result... there are few things in this world which can not be compared like listening to rafi, watching sachin's batting, watching michael phelps swimming and many more just because they all are gifted and when they are performing it looks as if god himself is present and performing.

  • I do agree with your comments and at the same token it could be applied to Kishore Kumar,Mukesh and to a great extent Manna Dey too.

As for Manna Dey, talk to people who listen to Rabindra sangeet and he is rated very highly.

Offhand a few compositions sung by KK comes to my mind is

Khushi do ghadi ki mile na mile

Panthi hun main , both composed by KK himself in Door ka Rahi

who can forget the songs from Door Gagan ki Chaaon mein and Jhumroo...

the list is endless for both Rafi and KK.

  • what a great combination shammi kapoor and rafi sahib and as goes for the one who said that rafi is over rated i bet you know shit about music my guess you are young and loved modern music and its ok but dont write stupid comments like this rafi is the king of kings in music industry kk was good but not as rafi

  • Shammiii ahahaha...king of romance

  • fantastic song.....old is gold ....rafi sahab ka jawaab nahen

  • i think we shld give credit to shammi here instead of pontificating abt rafi. the public got tired of him and after Aradhana it was KK all the way.

  • (nazar bachaakar chale gaye woh varna ghaayal kar deta

dil se dil taqra jaata to dil mein agni bhar deta

    varna ghaayal kar deta

  • beautiful lyrics.I wonder if shammi kapoor himself choreographed this song.Perfect synchro between rafi saab and sk

  • one of my best song

  • Shankar-Jaikishan are the greatest.

  • This song is a perfect example of synchronization between the actor and the playback singer. Rafi and Shammi are so well matched. Notice how every step and action are in harmony with the voice modulations.

  • very naughty song.

  • mohammad Rafi the greatest singer in the world ever. what a voice what control, what skill, what range, inimitable even today. Underrated by indian film industry who should mourn the loss of such talant every night and every day

  • Mohd rafi was never under-rated.He got all the respect he deserved from Indian Film Industry,he won plenty of best singer Awards year after year and even the Indian Govt - bestowed Padma Shri !

  • Rafi Rafi Rafi 28 years later still no one even close what a song and to add to it Shammi wah wah

  • @fadask We have Sonu Nigam who considers himself to be the heir apparent to the legendary Rafi. The media and the younger generation go ga ga over his songs. But unfortunately he FARTS from his mouth.Rafi IS Rafi irreplaceable.

  • @fadask yeh shaks shammi kapoor bhi ek kudrat ka niraali den thi, jahan aankh heroine pe jaani chaahiye, shammi ki nashili annakhon aur adaaon se hatne pe nahin aati!!

  • Mohd Rafi The man with the golden voice.

  • @hossenally Allah bless Mohammad Rafi sahab's soul!

  • A Real Heavenly Feeling......

  • good song

  • This is the song that plays when you visit his website. Very nice song!

  • Really? I wonder why he chose this one. Not that it's bad, but there are so many ... more spectacular one.

  • wonderful tabla and of course the master's voice to make a beautiful song-

    add Shammi Kapoor

    Sheer bliss

  • Add color to Shammi Kapoor and bliss forever :)

  • tres excellent very good

  • Marvellous video from movie Dil Tera Diwaana!

    Dr K Chaudhry
