  • @ozulu45 I meant how ppl were yelling shortkut don't need no into, he from cali n ppl were showing luv. I never said anything bout east vs. West. Whut does no black hiphop head got to do with anything,r u racist? Ppl of all love hiphop, whuts color got do to with it? Why even make distictions anyways when we're all the same? U don't even know hiphop or the meaning! Precision won in 07 who is my friend who I battled against this year in ny and I only see him as a real cool person.

  • shortkut kills it! fastest of the piklz love the listen to the bass get stupid!

  • Damn Short gets props!! This is NY let's not forget.

  • @djtwax new york? dude that whole east vs west shit died with aladdin and miz! look at the dame crowd! you barely see any black hip hop heads at these events anymore! yo check it! when the last time a black tablist won? dj slyce in 97 and thats it! there aint nuthin buy asian and white kids doin this shit now! and alot them are qbert cloners anyway!

  • Irving PLaze NYC. Packed with a crowd. No crazy behaviors. All quiet when artists are in performance. All here to enjoy the artistry. I was there amongst them. Best crowd. Best artists. Best DMC competetions. I wont forget this night ever.

  • back in 98 i thought to myself"what could he do with mantronix? DAMN SON!

  • Man this brings back some memories. I had this on video when I was 13. Have you got the DJ Alejan set? He came third if I remember rightly and he was quality. Cheers

  • without the needle jumps and a few small miscues barely noticeable.... he may have beaten craze.... but craze's was the illest ever...

  • When dmc was about manipulating records.. Not playing pre recorded samples and skratching voer dub step electro crap...

  • @n00bzor86 But remember it was the legends who won those Dmc's who started making those battle breaks Q bert / Dj Rectangle etc..

  • Classic Piklz routine. Great drumming, power scratching, juggling (actually ShortKut is the only consistent juggler from the group). However, the routine is sloppy overall (lots of needle jumping). The transition from routine to routine is not very good. Is it as if he listed all his best routines then performed them one after the other.

  • This is history!!! Best years for the DMC...98,99,00 and I'm proud to have been a part of the DMC Battle Ground those years! Shortkut was favored to win that year big time but Craze killed it!!!

DJ RREAL-98,99 Texas DMC Regional Finalist

  • @daillmeskin yup! if it werent for Craze, Shortkut would have taken the worlds!

  • @daillmeskin I was part of the Golden Era as well, over here in the UK, when our DJs were just as good as yours! It's no wonder that I failed to make it to a UK Final, although I should've made it in '99, but was robbed.

  • true west coast styles right here he was definately the strongest beat scratcher and obviously short cutting contestant in that particular competition i had my money on shortkut

  • from 3:33 he owned, bet craze was shittin himself

  • This Video is what made me wanna battle

  • i was here! Hammerstein ball room, NY 1998

  • waaay 2 damn funky 2 be in dmc which skrewed kut

  • Word!! Short is KILLING that Mantronix track. I knew he was nice, but, not like that.

  • hahaha lord finesse, "im the muthaf*ckin host. i'm introducing errybody. jesus christ come down i'm introducin him too..."

  • dis dude is the innovator of the chase patterns!

  • @jhengpotzkie GM YOSHI

  • Shortkut's funky routine still got me happy that I heard his set.

  • But yall know Craze owned this shit.

  • Shortkut is the fastest scratcher I've ever seen. Faster than Q and Disk. One time we did this radio show at Cal-State Fullerton and Short just MURDERED it doing nothing but transformer scratches. What's crazy is that most fools didn't even know he could scratch until the Piklz battled the X-Men in '96. Short was already a dope-ass juggler and then he pulls out the scratches.

  • @fooloof Shortkut was a guest judge at one of our Beezo SF battles and he got on the open tablist session. Straight murdered it.

  • @thabboy: dope. do you got video?

  • @fooloof ustream dot tv /recorded/8871445 Shortkut appears at: 01:17:30.

  • 4:21-5:20 he fucking murders that shit

  • This was by far one of my fav US battles - Craze, Do-Boy, Kuttin Kandi, Develop to name a few. Shortkut is ace, this was definitely a set for the Piklz fans.

    Peace

  • @Italbless CLASSIC

  • @Italbless dont forget dummy he insulted everyone you named

  • @djrakman thank u

  • Its allright but kinda messy. Not my fav.

  • -dope to have this here on Tube--

  • Goddamn!

The breakdown @ 2:21 still gives me goosebumps...

Not to mention the echo fades on the snares while he's drumming @ 4:00. One of the Funkiest drumers hands down.

  • This is a classic, don't diss the performance or the technics. Think about the year and the place first thank you.

  • Oh shit dude was the one before craze to get all technical with his juggles....I think if he would have a few more juggling routines and less drumming and scratches and just cleaned it up a bit(easy for me to say).....it would be a rap.

  • I don't know about this one...craze killed at this DMC for sure! Search for it and you'll agree

  • mantronix get stupid fresh part II actually. top 3 juggle of all time in my opinion. if it was clean he would have won that year.

  • mantroniix get stupid fresh

  • that first juggle was way before it's time! it shits all over every juggle craze has ever made

  • its not terrible

    but its sloppy man

  • haha lord finesse

  • dj develop??? never heard of him before...

  • DJ Develop

  • CRAZE Wrecked this fuckin guy 305 baby

  • wrecked this quy???? you got to be kidding!!!!! Sit the fuck down ... you just a spectator bitch!!! betta ask about me!

  • DJ Develop should've got second place, in my opinion, but he didn't even get a top 3 placing.

  • Most Def. top 3 yeah.

    Tw

  • Shortkut's de man:)))) I get chills watching him get down!!! If he's ever even close to where I live...I go...I've driven about 3hrs to see him before;-) LOVE HIS SKILLZZZ!!!!...&,yes, this routine is simply a classic!!!

  • damn, the dmc sure isnt the same as it used to be

  • If Shortkut hadn't made the few mistakes he made, the battle decision would've been even harder for the judges. This is probably my 5th favorite routine of all time.

  • hahahahhahahahahha. lord finesse: a true MC. shortkut: a bay area/westcoast legend.

  • if it is that fools an asshole lol.

  • lol is that lord finesse.

  • Oh yes, One of the illest beat jugglers ever. Finesse is classic.

  • Well played impact.. dope set. Gotta love lord finness at the start! lol
