Brother, I just picked up an 81, it is my dream truck:) It's a gas guzzler and I'm working on putting a diesel in it. Very exciting to find your video here, as I found out today the hummer engine can be dropped right in. And you can get them super cheap rebuilt by the military.

It was very rare to find a diesel in a civilian K5. The military used them in the M1009 military Blazer and in the Hummer. The engine is a Detroit 6.2 liter.
