Shaggy has a unique amazing accent. Just b/c he grew up in the States doesn't mean he can't do reggae. I mean Rihanna doesn't do island music and she's from Barbados and Fat Joe is Puerto-Rican and does hip-hop!
That's not being fake. It's actually common for Jamaicans who reside in North America to flip between the North American accent and Jamaican accent. Some people don't even realize they do it.
that's how all the multicultural people outside the western box do it. we switch accents and dialects at times. and its the best... unique and awesome.
