  • She sings flat like Natalie Wood did.

  • I miss you Grandma!

  • The girls look cute in their dresses, but why are the guys dressed like the Penguin?

  • Unbelievably handsome

  • a very early high school musical?

  • Great! Especially the end!

  • june alison - what a sweet heart

  • omg we're doing this musical for our school, Bak Middle School Of The Arts msoa.org

  • This production number has none of the exuberance of the pre 1929 market crash that one would see at a school like TAIT. The faces, hairstyles, clothing and music are of the post WWII era. Even the dance really isn't the Varsity Drag. Check out Dorothy McNulty (Penny Singleton) leading the co-eds in the rousing "Varsity Drag" from the rarely seen 1930 film version of the musical GOOD NEWS.

  • Did Busby Berkeley do the choreography? It seems like he always used this style for his numbers. In fact it looked like the same style used in the 1940 MGM musical "Strike Up The Band" during the LaConga number with Judy Garland and Mickey Rooney..

  • June was a very good actress but I never liked her singing voice. She always seems to sound flat.. But MGM always had the best talent and musicals!

  • I enjoyed this, but I like the one from the 1930 film much better.

  • HEP! Epitomizes the MGM musical credo, Do it big and give it class. Lawford dances as impeccably as he looks.

  • At 4:09 one of the chorus girls on the left of the screen has a costume problem. Ain't the internet wonderful.

  • 5:42: Look at her face! So funny! ;P

  • There is a girl in this movie who appears as an extra in easter parade and in meet me in st louis

  • i LOVE this so much!!! thank you for posting

  • God Bless Miss June.

  • cannot see at all

  • Can anyone see the girl who falls out of line in this dance??? About 3/4 of the way through.....

  • @1jomomgram yup i saw it too

  • i want to see the whole movie can anyone help

  • @49rogs netflix!!!

  • @49rogs

    I'll post it

  • Most of the male dancers appear to be homosexuals.

    Discuss!

  • @mrspatrickcampbell why would you say that?

  • @mrspatrickcampbell i think that you are a perverted freak because peter lawford was married to patricia kennedy and why would lawford posed nude u are a perverted freak you need to get help

  • Are there nude photos of Peter Lawford?

    Discuss!

  • June Allyson's voice is almost as manly as Whoopi Goldberg's.

  • love it...and it is period costuming

  • I love her voice...

  • A 1927 musical with 1947 clothes, hair styles and orchestra. Why didn't MGM stick to the period.

  • @glawsny because MGM were/are that amazing they can do whatever they like!

  • Funny to watch these lily-white young people doing modified black dancing.

  • @Whirrrlpoool yeah lol but i didn't know the varsity drag was a black dance. i knew Ruth Etting sang the original song in 1927... is TVD a WW1 dance?

    btw I'm black..

  • Are there nude photos of Peter Lawford?

  • Balina-you have very sharp eyes!

  • 4:08 woman on left in front row in lavendar dress stumbles.

  • June's little air kiss at 3:35 is adorable. I suspect that is a "real", unscripted, unguarded moment of affection.

I can't find it, but one of the background women dancer visibly stumbles & almost falls when they are in formation moving toward the camera.

  • Is Peter Lawford really singing or did someone dub his voice?

  • Despite being a total creep in his personal life, Peter Lawford was quite talented. Also, MGM was pretty good at covering up his bad arm.

  • @Veggieman87 his bad arm????

  • @ToughGuyMuffinMan When he was young, he ran through a glass door, severely damaging the muscles in his right arm and leaving his hand in sort of a claw-like shape. If you look carefully, you rarely see his right hand and he doesn't use his right arm very often.

  • Interesting to compare this to the 1930 number with Penny Singleton from the movie of the same name.

  • I love how at 3:35 she gives him an air smooch...delightful.

  • The master-- Busby Berkley!!!

  • @tallpaul521 Uh, this number was choreographed by Robert Alton.

  • June Allyson and Peter Lawford would have made a really cute couple !! :)

  • Thanks For Posting This, Jacinta, xxxx

  • Over blown, ridiculous, odd color, but I really like it.
