These little Reed Bunting visit my garden even though I live in built up area. Sometimes in cold weather as many as 9 have been feeding along with chaffinches and blue tits... they love canary seed!! Truly delightful little birds.
Didnt know this much of details of the Reed Bunting...Its amazing they look so much like the Sparrow.. Many thanks for all the info provided which is really useful for all bird lovers..
Dug out my Peterson field guide - Western Birds - thought we might have these little guys here, but no - not here in CA - but up in Alaska - (casual or accidental in outer Aleutians)
So glad you shared him with us, otherwise I'd probably never get to see one. (or learn about them) ;)
Thats a lovely little thing Phil, amber is not good but if they all are a healthy as that one looked maybe things will change. Thank you again my dear friend for your wonderful nature videos. How are your Hamsters doing still up to mischief with their sweet little tricks. Wish upon your stars x
I love these kinda educational (right word ? LOL) video's... we learn a LOT this way... I was riding my bike yesterday, came from my work and saw a bird in the bushes... Remembered a video that you made and I knew at once what kind of bird it was ! Good eh ?! Hahahaha...

Thanks Annet. I am trying to show people that they are not as bad or destructive as a lot of people would like to think and are lead to believe.
