I just don't understand how the Dow can support these levels from a pure laymans point of view.....

if you look at the DJI graph you see a smooth increase up until 1985-90

then an explosion.

if this were the graph of the nasdaq in 2001 or the median home price

in 2006 it would be a "bubble"

so why not the DOW?
