Well done! I recognize the hair and the clothes (rolled up pants on girls in addition to all of your comments) as EIGHTIES. I was not _there_ at the filming, but I was THERE and was around the same age during this time period.
fabulous dancing, but the absence of flares, the loafer/white sock combination, and the beginnings of a mullet haircut clearly place this in the 80s rather than the 70s
Please watch the Mulagh Half Set which was clarly filmed in 1973. Note the white socks the absence of flares. I do not know what a mullet hair cut looks like, but clearly the hair style's are simalar for the time period.I think Sheeplegs you clarly dont live in Ireland.
I don't but in the 80s I taught 2nd generation Irish kids in a school in London and I certainly recognise the fashion, especially as white socks were not part of school uniform! btw a mullet is the long at the back/short at the sides combination, famously sported by Bono during the 80s You're right about the Mulagh set but the dancers are the pre-flare generation and there may be examples of flares in the audience - alas there are no camera shots to support my theory! Great clips though. Thanks!
I am fairly certain from the video quality, that it could not have been the 70's. It is filmed on a video tape camera with zoom lense quality that the average person did not own. These types of cameras did not become available until the 80's, when they were mass produced. I don't see what living in Ireland has to do with that.
Long before Riverdance there was this amazing talent. This guy does steps I've never seen before! I wonder if he kept up with his dancing and where he is today. Thanks for sharing such a great performance.
How in the world is he getting that sound out of those loafers!? They look like house slippers! I want to see the bottoms of those shoes!

THE CLOTHES AND HAIR TELL ME MID 80'S.
MEANWHILE, I'M AMAZED HE CAN GET THAT SOUND OUT OF THOSE ENCREDIBLY PLIABLE-LOOKING LOAFERS.
HE MUST HAVE DOCTORED THEM WITH SOMETHING HARD OF THE SOLES.
