  • You guys should check out "alcohol, it's bad" on youtube. The guys from Oasis makes a cameo.

  • me and you, whats going on?

  • :D haaa I love as the sings noel :)

  • AFF BANDO DE OTARIO.! ¬¬

  • Stop fighting guys, Oasis and The Beatles are the best bands ever so lets leave it at that. Live forever<3

  • I don´t know why...i don´t even like Oasis too much but this particular song reaches my heart in a very special way...beautiful melody and lyrics...one of the best pop songs ever...no doubt... love it!

  • Please don't go away Oasis... oh wait... downer :(

  • This is a perfect example why Noel Gallagher is my heroe and why i love Oasis.

    enought said!.

  • Noel Gallagher is more talented that Mr Jackson....in my opinion.

  • ofcourse for sure he is. i think he is a better songwriter.... more real...

paedo mj is probably a better dancer though.

  • @ALANBARKER1289 i agree

  • @ALANBARKER1289 then you are fucking gay and have no taste in music fag.....

  • Comment removed

  • @ALANBARKER1289 They're Legends in their own right......never seen Jackson play and instrument, then again I've never seen Noel dance?!

  • @mrfetser666 playing an instrument and writing songs of the likes of oasis' requires much more skill than dancing

  • @ALANBARKER1289 Dont compare apples with oranges...

  • @ALANBARKER1289 but two different people and two different kind of music! they are both excellent in what they love! sorry for the english ;)

  • I think Noel is one of the most under appreciated songwriters ever.

  • As being the best songwriter, yes he was under appreciated, as no one other than the fans will admit he is way to talented, lets face it, 3 of the best 5 songs ever belong to him, who else manage that? NO ONE, not even The Beatles or that freak Michael Jackson

  • ehh i dissagree michael jackson and ESPECIALLY the beatles wrote PLENTY of songs better than Oasis.. But I still love them.

  • Yes they have good songs, but their songs are really overrated. I know this will get me spamed or thousands of thumbs down but lets face it, most of their songs talk about nothing at all or are high journeys, nothing to special. Many of their songs dont even show a soul of itself, the songs were good I have the CDs but I cant stand listening all the music at once, actually many of the fans feel the need to change music before going to the next disc, that doesnt happen with oasis

  • And I love Oasis BTW.

    But on this...you are wrong.

  • Actually the beatles arent very great at composing, they wrote more about journeys on acid or they based their music on the events of the time, however, noel doesnt write about drugs (other than gas panic which doesnt talk about drugs) nor they write about politics, yet their music is really good and doesnt need a motive to have been written. I dont say the Beatles are bad, but lets face it, they are way to overrated.

  • lol wat are you talking about. the beatles didnt even try acid until like the 2nd half of their career. the only reason they were so big was because all theyre songs were about love and harmony and thats what everyone really longed for in the 60s and now.

  • Well maybe acid was till the second half but drugs were a constant in their career, pot waas something they used before they started as The Beatles when they where The Quarrymen. Read a Biography they support or any book they wrote. Noel has admitted his best songs were written when he was high, but the song itself isnt about a drug journey or something related to politics.

  • EDWARDCR You clearly only looked at the pictures in those biographies you read... The Beatles didnt smoke pot until years later after they had cracked it...

  • Jackson lyrics were not that good. He was a good dancer, and all that, but he wasnt the best composer you could get.

  • Yes noel admits that his best music was written when he was high but he didnt base the music on being high or psychodelic stuff. On the prevous answer "other than Gas Panic which doesnt talk about music" I meant it wasnt a psychodelic stuff, it was actually written when he stop drugs.

  • @EDWARDCR most of the beattles songs weren't about drugs. they paved the way for popular music culture they are underrated if anything. the beatles have more top songs than any other band they have like over fifty brilliant songs who else has this.............no one.

  • Underrated? How? And yes, most of their music is based on drugs. Noel songs were inspired when he was high, but they dont talk about journeys or drugs. BTW I remember an interview where they say that Lila is based on a drug, but I dont know which one and Gas panic its supposed to be a song of how Noel felt after leaving the drugs.

  • With all respect, Michael Jackson doesn't stand next to Oasis, and death won't make him a better artist no matter how much his relatives want to get cash out of it!

  • jackson??????? haha

he is good but not this good.

    Beatles ok.

  • @Kozzy06 you are a loser

  • look at the music sheets of the beatles and of oasis there the same chord structures so yeah noel is great but beatles are the original and best even noel or liam will tell you this. mj was good but he is pop and it depends what your into.

  • Name me some songs with the same "chord structures".

  • who do you think you are ? Name me them songs get a life mate wanna know go check em out its plain for every1 to see

  • All guitar players use the same chords time to time. Most songs are made up of 6 main chords.I am a guitar teacher and one of the songs Oasis copied from the beatles was Whatever. There are only a few rare live videos on yt.But if you watch him sing that at the end .He sings Octopus Garden and continues playing the same chords as whatever.

  • There are millions of songs with the same chord sequence and with a verse chorus bridge/middle eight song structure.similar melody on octopuses garden but i dont think noel takes that much ispiration from ringo in his song writing!.the whole oasis copied the beatles "chord structure" comment is just wrong.

  • Noel usually sings Octopus Garden when it comes he's playing Whatever. And just because he does, doesn't meant he "copied. " The way he plays it, is not the way Ringo star originally made it to be played. Quite different actually, but that's the thing with songs, you can use a totally different chord composition for the same song and make it work.

That's what the case with Octopus Garden was.

  • @jonjon3004 as a guitar teacher i would think you would realise noel sings it as a tribute to the beatles they are obviously his idols and influence his music massively.............great music has been copied, covered, sampled by similarly great artists throughout time bringing it to a younger generation.

I'm assuming you learnt your trade by copying others :p

  • I agree with you mate.I am a guitar teacher on yt and most songs are made up from 5 or 6 main chords. On yt watch the live Versions of Whatever by Oasis and in rare versions he sings Octopus garden using the same strum and chords and sort of shows where he got the idea for one of Oasis best hits !

  • hello jon, fancy seeing you on here haha. 'whatever' chords are copied from a song by neill innes called 'how sweet to be an idiot. i'll send you a link to it and you wont believe how similar it sounds.

  • @TboneWilson1978 fancy seeing you here aswell.

  • @DaIrishGuy haha, hello there

  • @TboneWilson1978 i was absolutely speechless when i watched tyour guitar tapping vid. pure class

  • @DaIrishGuy thanks sean, hope your little caitlin's doing well pal.

  • I disagree with your comment a lot. Chords are chords, they're usually the same for most guitarists. Most Oasis songs have very distinct melodies from the Beatles.

  • Noel is not from this galaxy ...

Thank you for the good times Noely

  • so simple yet so amazing

  • i wish them banshees in the crowd would have fucked up

  • old oasis were so much better than newest

  • that's right the album dig out your soul is not as good as the old ones it's not that rhytmic und melodical, like the older ones

  • @noiel ur correct, I really missed Bonehead and Guigsy in the last few albums. But Oasis never stops getting amazing :') Noel, Liam, where did it all go wrong??

  • Fuck'n Bith!

  • you cant fake it

  • a true musician

  • one... free...

  • i like it very much. so cool

  • "Harley Beans" .. 100 Percent Hit Tha Nail On Tha Head.! Never Heard Record Machine, Lets Say You Go To An Oasis Concert, Everyone Knows There Gonna Get a Liam Show With Rock N Roll Star, Cigarettes N Alcohol, Some Might Say Etc Etc... Then The Noel Show With D.L.B.I.A. Angel Child, Masterplan, Importance Of Bein Idle Etc.. You Get The more Mellow Side, Sooo Folks, Wen Your At Your Next Concert Just Think Your getting 2 Shows For The Price of 1. :))

  • AWESOME!

  • NOEL GALAGHER IS THE MAN

  • Noel Gallagher is STILL a great songwriter. Bag It Up, The Turning, Waiting For The Rapture, Shock and Falling Down from the new album are all fantastic songs. And his tunes on DBTT like The Importance Of Being Idle and Part Of The Queue showcases his talents. And for him to leave Record Machine off an album to give someone else in the band a space for one of their songs shows it's not the Noel Gallagher show anymore. It's a band. But no other band could afford to leave such songs off albums.

  • bring on the noel gallagher solo album, i bet he's got some amazing songs tucked away

  • i dedicate this one to them self..don't go away oasis..don't leave music..let me hear your notes 'till my end...love u!

  • good one

  • I don´t wanna be there when you´re ...

    Coming down

I don´t wanna be there when you hit the ground

    =(

    oasis break my heart

  • Liam sings "I don't wanna be there...", but I'm pretty sure Noel here is singing "*And I* wanna be there...". Interesting difference between the two.

I agree, this song really is moving.

  • magic stuff !

  • The Importance of Being Idle, Part of The Queue, Let There Be Love, The Hindu Times, Force of Nature, Stop Crying Your Heart Out,, Little By Little, Go Let It Out, Who Feels Love, Gas Panic, Where Did It All Go Wrong, Sunday Morning Call, Roll It Over, Lets All Make Believe, The Shock Of The Lightning, Falling Down, Waiting For The Rapture.

All great and written after Be Here Now. And I don't appreciate being called a gullible bastard for thinking Oasis is a great band.

  • Couldnt have put it better myself

  • yeah!!!

  • Oasis were once great and my favourite band. Definatly Maybe and Whats the Story are to date still the only two albums that I love every song on. Recently Oasis have gone stale, and I don't think Noel has much to write about these days which is a shame really. However I do believe Noel is the hart and soul of Oasis and the Mastermind. I believe he should try solo, I for one would definatly buy his stuff.

  • You are out of your mind. Oasis is and will forever be a great band.

  • That doesn't mean any new crap they churn out I have to agree as being great. Because to put it simply thats exactly what they have churned out recently.

  • Agree to disagree I guess. I think the new album is blindingly good. And even their weakest effort IMO, Heathen Chemistry, had a few quality tunes that. Most bands these days only have two or three worthwhile songs per album. Meanwhile Noel has written more top quality B-sides than most bands have quality singles.

  • Maybe you are right, but these B-Sides you talk about were all written before Oasis were famous along with the first 3 albums. I remember watching a documentary where Noel said he had written all the songs previously. He said he brought the best ones first album, second best second and third best third which makes sense. Then he said something along the lines and all you gullable b*stards bought it. My point is he was a good song writer when he had something to write about.

  • This when the WORLD loved Oasis... including America. 68 million albums sold to date.

  • R-I-P DUD M8 :( !!!!!!!!

  • yet people still listen to their records ? they sure blew it.. must have made millions since 96

  • The Lion King outsells Shakespeare. The Sun outsells the Times. McDonalds and Pizza Hut do very well, don't they, but no one suggests they're quality. The Spice Girls outsell Mozart. And so on. Mere popularity and commercial success is never, ever a sign of talent and ability. Lowest common denominator TV or music will always be popular. Just watch Big Brother. Oasis were great once. Not any more. Sure, they make money, but have lost their soul. Which is a shame, because I used to love them.

  • dig out your soul is fukin awesome

  • They may not be the same but they sure still know how te play the classics. And thats perfection. Oasis doesn't do it for the money, they have enough- they are doing it for their fans, former fans and people who still believe in real music!

  • Ye we know they peaked in 96, and what?

Some still love Oasis and their music, just not the masses that did in 95-97.

  • good stuff.

  • i like the acoustic version better

    loooooove this sonnnnng.

  • good song
