  • Who the fuck holds their blackberry like that normally? It's not a problem with a blackberry cause people don't hold their blackberrys like that. But it is a problem with the iPhone because it'sthe way most people hold their iPhones like that.

  • how is this a death grip? You had 3G the whole time and it only dropped to 3 bars... Plus, you were holding the device in an abnormal way...

  • yh but who acc hold the phone right up the top it took me ages to work out how to do it yu have to hold the top of the phone which no ones does so not a problem foools

  • @sww00a79602 - neither! I use a hands-free earpiece that is non-Bluetooth!. The Blackberry just SUCKS! I hate it!

  • Would you rather have brain cancer or for your phone to lose a few bars because of a manufactured grip?

  • You can't really call that a death grip since you don't lose all connectivity by holding it that way. Also, in comparison to the Iphone 4 it's really uncomfortable to hold the phone like that.

  • but the thing is you will never hold the blackberry like that :P

  • does the bars go back up?

  • 3 bars is not death! i tryed the gripp allso inside the house not outside where the signal strength is higher, and no decrease !

  • @USELDINGER And your point is??????? LOST ON ME!

  • @TheCrazyParrot forget about it man!

  • how does it say darth vader at the top?

  • @BrainSalad212 It was the name of my wireless network.

  • doesnt work for me i was trying with both hands and nothing happend

  • what does the blue light mean?

  • @holysnap1234 It means that the bluetooth headset is connected.

  • Respond to this video...it means the bluetooth headset is connected.

  • wow ur retarded ur actually covering the antenna on top of the BB and no one holds a blackberry like that anyway, the iPhones death grip is on the bottom side where ur palm would be when u actually hold the phone, ur just showing us ur hand covering the whole top of the blackberry bold which obviously is gonna lower the signal

  • hmmm...it's not really a death grip if it still has THREE bars! "Death grip" implies the phone does not have signal. AT ALL.

  • How did you put the personal banner up there??? Up where it says Darth Vador???

  • @bigfellakid It is the name of the Wi-Fi

  • @TheCrazyParrot

Oh, so you can't put a personal banner up on these??? I've been trying to ever since I got mine and can't figure it out

  • Who the fuck holds a blackberry like that?

  • People who actually care about this problem really need to get a life and get laid

  • @DavieeShoTzz I am down for BOTH as you must be - you checked out the post!!

  • Losing 2 bars does not a death grip make.

  • im sure you dont hold your phone like that to use it so this "test" is bs

  • @shoblob Since I do hold my phone like that when not using a bluetooth, this is not BS. This is not a scientific test, just a demonstration to show the blackberry drops signal too.

  • @TheCrazyParrot

you hold the phone on the very top and very tightly

ur thumb is nowhere near able to use the trackpad or any of the keys thus this is bs

0:27 - to the end of the video

the tip of your thumb is across the top of the phone while the edge of your palm is at the same height screen

idk about you but no one holds a phone like that unless your trying to recreate some iphone 4 bs by trying different grip styles

  • I get 4 bars when i do that

    and i have verizon

  • @Euyup I have Verizon too if you notice in the video.

  • That is interesting... but for the record, if you're gripping your phone that hard, you have problems separate from your phone.

  • @marymgates What problems might that be?

  • A DEATH GRIP FOR VERIZON IS AS GOOD AS AT&T NORMALLY

  • how is your phone blinking blue

  • @MrAchievement101 I think it is because I have a bluetooth (Jawbone) attached.

  • @MrAchievement101 There's apps where you can change your light indicator duhh

  • @MrAchievement101 It is connected to my bluetooth.

  • Death Grip means the phone call will drop; while reduced signal strength does mean the call will drop.

  • @peapoo3 so where did you get your definition of the Death Grip? Did you see the videos from Apple showing the same thing? My video was WAY before theirs!!

  • Seriously... No body in this world will hold a phone as if they were like crunching it and covering almost the entire phone with his hand. Iphone 4 loses it signal just by merely a soft touch covering the base of the phone... That's the issue...

  • @juggyfoo I have not experienced the phenomena you describe with my iPhone 4.

  • @TheCrazyParrot this is a true statement... calls can be lost simply by a normal grip on the phone, I don't own the phone but 2 of my friends do and I've witnessed their calls being dropped simply by hand placement...

  • Hi and thanks for the comment. The point of my post was that as an iPhone 4 user, i was perplexed by all the media hype of the degraded signal strength when you put the iPhone 4 in a Death Grip. So I tried it with my new Blackberry Bold 9650 & the same thing happened. There were several times that all the bars from the Blackberry Bold 9650 disappearedI just could not take that much time at lunch to make it happen.

I will be comparing my iPhone 4 signal to my Blackberry Bold 9650 signal too!

  • maybe it has to do with your location.. in some places verizon has better signal strength and in others AT&T gets the better signal, i guess it just depends on where you are.
