Ok you guys this is NOT fake...if you find the english version of this video it specifically tells you the cable is so the car does not slide towards the edges. a brake system was also fitted to the cable so the car does not slide backwards.if it was fake im pretty sure they would not want to show the cable under the car.

To the topic. If I'm not mistaken Torsen was developed by Audi for German military and was used in class B rally and it's one of the best all wheel drive system available. Unfortunately Audi installs it only in a few models. The other "quattro's" are Haldex like in A3 or A4.

Only A3 an TT have Haldex because both models have engines mounted transversely not longitudinaly as other Audi quattro models. A4 has Torsen not Haldex.

@alpinaB12coupe You are right, my mistake... It's because platform of a Golf (which is a base for A3 and TT) is not rigid enough to support Torsen. At least that is what I was told by an Audi technician. :-) How the engine is mounted is subsequent.

Instructors there teach you how to control the car on wet and slippery roads and in winter how to drive on show and ice - how to control skids, get around pedestrians and obstacles while skidding and so on. Audi is in a class of its own. I have owned many different luxury cars and Audi is the best one I have ever owned, its just that good! I have an A6 Quattro and I love it I live in CT in the US and we can have some horrid winters, but this car never ceases to amaze me at how it handles the road in any weather conditions. I love it and will never own anything else!

I agree most people don't know how to drive. Trucks are very heavy and people mostly leave stock tires so they sink. My a4 is light so it stays on top of the snow pretty good. What kind of Subaru do you have? I like those a lot too.

@dbackbmx subaru outback,it depends on the snow and temperature also,in Seattle the snow is wet and heavy,its also wrm here so that makes wet snow slimy,last year the snow got to deep for the subaru,it did ok but the ruts were difficult,thats when my big GMC was great,it'll go through 2 feet of powder before the bumper hits,I made a snowplow out of some steel and plowed my neighborhood,I would say the #1 thing is retarded drivers.
