dude dont forget in 95 z24 had a 2.3 quad 4 with 155hp and in 96 it had 2.4 twin cam, and dont forget if you drop in the 2.3 quad 4 w41 with 190hp there pretty fast if you ask me no forced induction needed
the cobalt is just a bubbled up cavi that isnt even that cool. Cavalier + rite owner (no ricers)= sexy as hell!!! Cobalt + any1 = Ugly as fuck! cavi is wayyy better but after a while they become high matenince cars. i personaly would never ever drive a cobalt again. i rented one and hated it. i luved to get back to my cavi after that experience. but im also a honda man but cavi over powers the cobalt all the way

If you drove either one for some odd reason, you'd know the early 2.2L 16v L61 ECOtec engine in the slightly lighter Cavalier actually outperforms the same engine (but with higher HP and torque) in the Cobalt. As for the 2.0L Supercharged Cobalt... it's badass in comparison to any other J-body sans the Ion Redline (redline is lighter). Now try and digest that. Otherwise not a bad video for a young car enthusist.
cobalt interior might be newer and stuff but i liked cavaliers more, its not as fancy but it doesnt have screaming cheap silver trim. why does cobalt get higher performance? its practicaly same engine. only 5 hp more and cobalt prob weights more so i wouldnt be surprised if cavalier was faster
no the ecotecs are actually the best manufactured engine take your lil 2.4 twin cam and well yeah those engines were never reliable they lasted 100000 miles at most and guess what rod knock

the newer 2.2 the ecotec if thats what your referring to has 150 hp and 155 ft/lbs and thats a 16v but came out in 2002

You should have mentioned the Cavalier Z-24 Vs. Cobalt SS .. obviously the 2.2L Ecotecs are junk.
2001 Chev Cavalier Z-24 was the fastest, and best quality Cavalier made, excluding the Cobalt.

well 2.2 performs quite well against competition and consumes much less fuel then 2.4
i would go with 2.2 personaly (i am talking about the new 16 valve 140 hp one, not the crapy 8 valve)
