For speed get a new processor not RAM ( At my school the computers have 512mb of RAM but have a 2.69ghz proccesor and they are fast)

I have 8 gb Ram, and i dont do this, but i reccommend Tuneup utilities, also advanced system care and ccleaner, for video playback Svideo

Your steps all sound reasonable, except for the startup menu program removal tool. The program you showed deleted the startup files. I believe it is better to just deselect them from msconfig. That way if you removed something you like or is necessary you can always select it again. At any rate thank you for sharing your steps with us.

I got the dreaded ‘AV Security Suite’ rogue popped up on the right side of my screen and it started running with a bogus screen shot of ‘My Computer.’ I clicked ‘Cancel’ to no avail.

It took over week to get this 'thing' out of my Registry, but after that the computer became so slow that I could not even perform a simple cut/copy/paste.

Now, it's back to normal.

I still can't get that stupid Messenger to stop on Start-up.

But I am very happy :-)

Yesterday viruses attempted to trojan horse into my computer via Tune Up Utilities and Spybot Search and Destroy downloaded from the links provided via this "help." Then my computer wouldn't let me erase the programs. Took me some time but finally got rid of them both. Ugh.
