Okay you disagree thats fine. However you are incorrect as Kankuro... did not know he was fighting Sasori. For one he used all of his puppets on Sasori... Karasu, Kuroari, and Sanshouo. These puppets were created by Sasori. In actual fact Sasori told Kankuro who he was... and then Kankuro basically lost hope here. For if Kankuro knew who he was fighting he wouldn't be so clueless as to why this Akatsuki member knows all of his defensive methods and attack styles and formations.
