I was the biggest Alex/Fletch fan! So big that when I finally gave up hope that they would ever reunite, I stopped watching the show. You can imagine my surprise and pure delight when watching the final episode, Fletcher comes walking through Alexandra's door. I screamed, shouted and finally cried right along with Alex.
HOLLY & EDs FINAL SCENE HOLLY: Oh?! Hey. This is a pleasant surprise. ED: That's good. HOLLY: What are you doing here? ED: Came to see you. HOLLY: Come on in. ED: Can't. No time, leaving. HOLLY: Where are you going? ED: 'Round the world tour--open ended. HOLLY: (Nods) Hmmm. ED: With you? Life is very short Holly. Come on, please say yes. HOLLY: How long(Long pause)how long do I have to pack? ED: Ten minutes! HOLLY: Fifteen! ED: I'll be here. Waiting to carry your bags.
As much as I ADORED Tammy and Jonathan, Reva and Jonathan (Kim and Tom) had the best chemistry. I enjoyed watching them together just as much. I'm really disappointed that Guiding Light has been cancelled.
But sadly, the show went down hill after the Tammy/Jonathan story line ended. The show just wasn't the same. I used to record Guiding Light everyday and watch it twice but when Jonathan left the show, even I started to skip episodes. I loved this show so much.
I started watching this show 2 1/2 years ago. I am going to miss it greatly. It is the only reason I watch any soaps at all. After tomarrow. I am off them. Time to start living more of my own life I guess.
Thank you so much for all of your postings! I can't believe how much I'm going to miss some of these chars! The "old" ones coming back has brought tears to my eyes so many times. I wish they hadn't changed the show so much...I wish more of the "old" characters had stayed on, not to mention the old sets and music that really gave the show it's definition. I think more regular viewers would've kept watching.
WOW...waited 15 yrs to see Alex and Fletcher reunite...this scene still gets me chocked up;(

I LOVE that Ed and Holly ended up together. I wish that Fletcher Reade would have mentioned Meg when he was in town.
