can someone tell me how to find my shade in powder foundation? im not interested in liquid foundation since my face is not in a good condition, i try finding my shade in liqud foundation since fiding your shade that way is easier but after i found my shade and went to powder the names are different + number ? !!!!! .
@pofy100 by powder do you mean loose powder? not pressed powder?
first of all for mineral, i definitely recommend bare minerals so if you go to sephora they will help you. but if you want a drugstore one, i would take the powder and compare it to your jaw. i also recommend buying it at cvs or some other store that allows returns (be careful many stores DO NOT allow opened products to be returned)
I have been wearing makeup for many years, and still I struggle with this when I try new foundations. Undertones always confused me, but I picked up the tip of looking at your veins on your wrist & up your inner arm. If they look more green you have a yelllow undertone and if they look more blue than you have a pink undertone. Just getting matched at a makeup counter & bringing your perfect match with you shopping is pretty fail proof though!
@OwnedByMyAPBT Wow i never knew that. thank so much for the tip! i kinda figured that i have a yellow undertone because those matched me best and im asian :P lol
i agree professional matching is the best most of the time, you just have to be careful how you look in the sunlight versus under florescent.
After years of being a makeup artist. The rule stands true. There are no rules to makeup, only rules of thumb. Nothing called oo anything.I disagree with telling anyone how to wear their foundation/blush/powder/eyeliner/eyeshadow/or concealer. Makeup is subjective. Everyone has their own makeup style. Many light people tend to go light/lighter or mix it with a luminzer to make themselves brighter/radiant/porcelin like. Others like the bronzey deep look, Live and let live. General reminder
@superstarr93 haha well my book collection has increased b/c my parents cant seem to stop buying books for me but its not like i look through ALL of them necessarily :P
Amazing tutorial.. ;) Im planning to buy Loreal True match in N4 -Nude beige.. but I really find it hard to match the color on my face since the lights on the make up counter is very deceiving.... I usually struggle on buying the right shade since at the mall, it looks similar to my skin, but when I took pictures w/ my friends, my face looks lighter than the nrest of my shoulder. I wonder how celebs create a perfect match look on tv & pics... I="""(
@ebencipe yay i love trumatch (kandeejohnson even swears by it :) SO TRUEEE a lot of times i find that a color matches me in the store but it looks completely different in the sunlight :( i often have to mix colors together to find the "perfect" shade. i hope N4 matches u tho :D
@mlledebeaute Hi.. i Already bought the Loreal Truematch in N4... The color really matches my creamy asian skin however, i was expecting that the fonda would stay that long knowing that it is kinda pricey, however, im kinda disappointed that it doesnt stay that long as I was expecting it to be. I have to reapply using the Loreal Truematch cake foundation.. =) However, so far as my journey on looking for right shade, this is 99% close to my skin tone.. Thanks by the way..
@ebencipe YAYY glad to hear it matches. alot of l'oreal products are yellow based which are perfect for asians :P
it does not stay long for you? do you use a primer and finishing powder? for me it stays on all day (when i have school from about 6-4) make sure you use a good primer it can really help your makeup stay on longer and go on smoother also it can diminish the oils on your face which might be the reason your makeup is coming off so easily. i hope you find a way to make it stay better!
it helped...I used to buy alway pinker colours and then hate myself 'cause at the shop I was SURE that colour was ok...this is helpfull for the future :D
For the comment below me it's not that they can't afford it. They probably spend more money trying to find the right shade. It all adds up. Like myself I live in a town that's far from a Mac counter 6 to 7 hrs away.
Hey I like drugstore reviews and helpful hints so keep doing these cause I know alot of people who need drugstore help because they can't afford brand name or expensive brands!!! ^_^
I'm a guy and that was very helpful :P
