  • @frodo8101008 ,The song was intended for smokey mountain and because of this song that the name of the group "smokey Mountain" came to be. It was initially performed by the first batch (geneva, jeffrey, james and tony) but never got included on the first album.

You are also correct in saying that Ryan Cayabyab formed the group..

  • The biggest crime here is this. Something should be done to the parents. These children did no ask to be brought to this world in dire poverty. Yet their parents knew of this and despite of this they decided to reproduce IRRESPONSIBLY. Worst, they keep doing it every 9 months. What kind of people are these? Monsters! nothing less really

  • The kids of Smokey Mountain have beautiful voices. I have a cd of their Christmas songs and Paraiso is one of Smokey Mountain's most touching songs!

  • I watched Smokey Mountaain sing this song during some comptetition (regional level?) where they won. It was aired on tv and I remember being mesmerized as I listened to the lyrics and the overall performance. The group was just fantastic! I also remember feeling so proud to be a Filipino. Since that time "Paraiso" became one of my most loved songs and shared it with one of my classes at the U of Calgary.

  • @fluorspar no

  • i was big fan of smokey mountain when i was a kid.. memories... they were good.. great vocals..

  • Always loved this song from the first time I heard it!

  • This song was sung by a group called "Smokey Mountain" which was formed by Ryan Cayabyab who also composed this song it talks about poverty and even if its not a rich country people are happy living in it. english for paraiso is paradise. and btw Smokey Mountain is a landfill in Manila.

  • this song became a song for one a charity in the pinas called Gawad Kalinga they was there own theme song both songs are really touching.

I'm Cebuano and proud to be one i love my pinoy culture i just hate dat i moved away from the pinas at 1 and a half years old

  • Hey, I never said this was a bad song, I just said the message is an ugly truth, in my opinion. Also, you don't have to be pure filipino to enjoy and understand filipino music.

I'm half filipino, I live in London, so you will forgive me if I get the exact location of smokey mountain wrong, i had heard it's in the Manila area, maybe on the outskits.

And yes, I am proud to be Filipino

  • Great vocals...

  • 25151206, you are so wrong...DEAD WRONG.. are you even a filipino? if not, you don't have the right to say that. if you are, youre not proud to be a filipino..

  • 2551..i dnt agree w/ u ..ts really pretty song..filipino managed to cmposed sumthn like this even it would reflect wat they have on their country..i was really proud of them..they really stand out on this song..

what they just sung is reality..they're just being true to themselves hw bout ur country?

  • i totally agree with u..

  • the song is so pretty!!!

  • it's so pretty!!

  • sorry to bust your bubble, but although this song is well written and well composed, and taking into account that I also love this song, I wouldn't class this song as pretty, but ugly.

The reason why? It's about Filipino's living in severe poverty in Manila

  • 25151206, I'm sorry to BURST your bubble but Smokey Mountain (a dump where children are forced to live and work day and night) is not located in Manila! You have to listen to the true essence of the song! Listen to what the message is! While most people are singing about sex and hitting up the club! This is a song about Poverty and sending a message to the world! That's rare! That's beautiful!

  • listen to the version of UST choir...maiiyak talaga kayo

  • i am crying. damn!

  • It saddens me everytime I hear this song.. if only Filipinos unite, there will be no poverty and hunger..maybe its about time we set aside our personal interests, let us help alleviate poverty by prioritizing the needs of our less fortunate brethen. Let us give them what is suppose to be for them..

  • it really strike my heart everytime i hear this song. Why dont we people unite in one cause and live in peace and harmony no more war, no more hunger, just peace and unity. And who knows this place of ours would be a better place for all of us.

  • saan ba makakakuha ng songs ng smokey mountain?
