@frodo8101008 ,The song was intended for smokey mountain and because of this song that the name of the group "smokey Mountain" came to be. It was initially performed by the first batch (geneva, jeffrey, james and tony) but never got included on the first album.
You are also correct in saying that Ryan Cayabyab formed the group..
sila ang original nyan... bata pa sila noong kinanta nila yan... sinong bata kumanta...post mo nga... d mo alam mo matatanda na mga smokey mountain.... : )
@frodo8101008 this song was launced 18-19 years ago composed by Maestro Ryan Cayabyab and interpreted by the Smoky mountains one of them is Ms Geneva Cruz...
i want to say, that i understand the meaning of this song to be, that if human living is degraded by poverty, that the environment cannot be cared for very well, and a vicious cycle is carried on through generations.
sila ba ang original nitong paraiso kasi ,nakita ko sa youtube na kinanta ito ng isang jpop artist noong siya ay bata pa.pinakita ito sa vtr noong concert ng grupo na NEWS...
the songs is actually about the original smokey mountain in the Philippines and how the people who lived their had to struggle for their place in the world. A world that seems to have forgotten them.
is the song talking about mother Earth and the environment?? no it's not!! way far off. check out the lyrics. this is about poverty! the irony that "paraiso" is actually a haven of poverty where everyone struggles to survive.
@visionsofthehorizon the way how you take a look at the meaning of the song was very fantastic.you were very open to what really is happening now..nice one

Hey, I never said this was a bad song, I just said the message is an ugly truth, in my opinion. Also, you don't have to be pure filipino to enjoy and understand filipino music.
I'm half filipino, I live in London, so you will forgive me if I get the exact location of smokey mountain wrong, i had heard it's in the Manila area, maybe on the outskits.
