In melee, it could go either way because they purposely made the dodges so that you move a little bit extra when you use it, some people will say that you are suppose to use it that way, some won't. In brawl, DASCUS moves which is kind of like wavedashing actually ARE glitchs because it was not made on purpose. Normal wavedashing in Brawl is a hack, not a glitch or a move they made on purpose.

You're wrong. Its called a Power shield or Perfect shield. That was implemented in Brawl AND Melee.

Dash Attack Cancelled Up Smash. Basically, its a technique where you activate a Dash Attack, but Cancel it by doing an UpSmash. Hence the name DACUS.

The known Characters who can utilize this technique are Snake, Sheik, Link, Wario, and Falco. There may be others that I've missed.

Yes you can go from a Dash to an upsmash, but that is entirely different from a Dash attack Canceled upsmash.

A DACUS actually requires executing the Dash attack animation,  then canceling it by doing an upsmash. Not every character can do that.

Yeah you can. But the lengths of the dash aren't even useful. Plus, for the people with really short Dash Upsmash lengths, their DACUS frame-times to execute the technique are really fast and they don't even slide THAT far.

So technically, you're right. Every character can DACUS. The only problem is that the DACUSers (if you will) that I said above have the longest or most useful ones. Which means ones that have good length, attack, or easy frame rate execution. (If you will)

actually I have been able to do a DACUS with EVERY character but instead of sliding like Snake most just have their momentum canceled like with Marth when you hyphen smash he slides a little well he doesn't slide when you DACUS with him

Dude this is DAC (Dash Attack Cancel). you dash attack, then instantly right after, you up smash. A few other characters can do it. it's easier if you dash attack with C-stick down then up-Z. It has to practically be at the same time except do the dash first.

I just started using Snake for a bit. The real use of mortar dash or whatever the hell you want to call it for those that still don't see the use in it. A regular dash into mortar will make you slide slightly while launching it. Whereas, the canceled dash mortar counts as both a dash-hit and mortar. Dash and almost simultaneously tap down on C stick then upSmash, not at the same time but do the upsmash a split second or less after tapping down C and you will accomplish it

The only thing new about this is that he didnt have to connect the rolling attack in order to do the mortar slide, which in itself is pretty awesome. Timing for this ,I think, for this type of mortar sliding needs to be perfect.
