  • 7:16 ALFALFA MODE -- TRANSFORM!!!

  • damn this is usefull!!

  • And uh, thanks for the um, help. xD jk Thanks a lot!

  • Well this series is probably the best tutorial on youtube! This is really helping me! THANK YOU!!!

  • nice and also nice hair its like my brother

  • I can do wallruns in anything from worn out hiking boots (not flat and no grip whatsoever) to new basketball shoes. there is however a huge difference, once one has perfected in esence at least the motion the shoes only help because it is really your body weight and momentum staying with the wall that will extend the run

  • awesome! :)

  • Thank you!

  • lol "i can stick to the wall cause i have cleats", damn r there actually ppl dumb enough to think that? and by the way good explanation, like u say its for begginers, and hopefully we'll see a vid shortly where u perform the entire wallrun, just keep practicing

  • can vans work? cause i don't have those shoes :(

  • Here's a way you can test them:

Go up to a wall, put your foot on the wall at about hip height, and push down. Do they slip out quickly? Or do they give resistance? If they give a bit of resistance you should be okay. Vans are usually pretty flat, so it just depends on the texture at the bottom and the rubber type. Also depends on the wall too.

  • thx~ :D

  • Sure, no problem.

  • Uh Uh Uh Uh haha Nice tutorail, Thanks

  • Yeah I know lol...gotta get rid of that :/

Please don't think o fit as a tutorial, it's a by beginner for beginner "idea starter". If that makes sense.

  • this is only part 1?! its 8 mins long :(

    ty for the tips

  • 9 actualleh :)

  • Yeah, I'm thinking about doing a "summary" video that is shorter and without "uhs".

    :p

  • yummy

  • nice... I liked it

  • Thanks...it's in need for a revise though hehe XD

  • you're pretty good

  • good stuff:)

    and you said garl=)

  • Garl? When?

    Thanks.

  • around 6 30 he did

  • I said "Gal", not "Garl".

    "Gal" as in female.

  • cool vid im new to Free running or "parkour" but ive found that my adio's have very good grip against the walls... i dont suggestion buying them cause the ones i got are like 120$ but they work very well..! ive found that doing different things with ur feet while wallrunning can end u up in dif postition... i fliped off and landed on my head .. cause i did something wrong but now i can wall run and jump to my neighbours roof "they dont like that"!

  • freerunnig and parkour are two different things first of all freerunning is like manuevering through obstacles and parkour is jumping building to building so the flip you tried to do off the wall would be freerunning and jumping to your neighbors roof would be parkour

  • Well, welcome to the world of Freerunning/Parkour! Unfortunately I haven't had the chance to upload my stuff...

I'll keep those shoes in mind.

Although it's fun to get onto roofs, it can be dangerous, and it's illegal, so be careful if you find you need to do so for whatever reason. It's, for the most part, not reccomended until after a year of training. Even those who have practiced for longer than that stay away from roofs. There's a lot to be mastered on the ground first :p

    Good luck!

  • 5/5

  • what about world's skate shoes are those decent?

  • Try them yourself. Go up to a wall face on, and stick your foot on the wall. Does it slip out? Place your foot at varying heights and different types of walls. This should answer your question.

  • HAHAHAHAHAH.

imagine someone trying to wall run with cleats.

    lol.

  • Hm, maybe I'll try that...

    >:]

  • that made me laugh cause i actually know people who would try that. and more that once!

  • are running shoes good too?

  • Running shoes can work, depending on the type you have. Keep in mind that there are a few basic factors to keep in mind.

-How flat the bottom of the shoes are. The flatter the better. This allows for more surface area on the wall. If you look at shoes specifically made for Parkour, they have flat bottoms.

  • -Material. What does the bottom of the shoe feel like? You can test the grip by using your finger. Does it feel chalky, smooth, and plastic like? Or does it feel sort of rough, grainy, and rubbery? Another way to test is using the mirror that shoe stores have on the chairs you sit on to try on shoes. Put the shoe against the mirror and push down with varying differences of pressure and speed. Does it slide or does it stick?

  • -Placement of rubber on the upper foot area. Most running shoes have special arrangements of plastic patterns on the bottom. Although it looks kinda neat, you need it to mainly be flat, and look like it is one big piece of rubber. Stay away from fancy zig-zag lines patterns and such, unless it is a must.

  • -If you already own a pair of shoes and you want to test those, go find a suitable wall surface. Put your foot on the wall around waist level, and push downwards with varying levels of force and speed. Does it have a high tendency to slip out easily? Or is it more likely instead to slip only a little bit?

So yes, running shoes can help, but keep in mind the design and the material of the shoe, as well as if the rubber is broken in. Many people opt for a cross-training shoe. I hope this helped.

  • will volleys good shoes

  • I don't understand...

  • yes volleys are gfood for parkour

  • What're Volleys?

  • dude thanks this helps. forget what all the other people say, just know that they are fags who just like make fun of people becuase they have nothing better to do. keep it up!

  • why are so many people racist? It doesn't make any sense

  • very thorough and great explanations :) i guess it could be a bit less redundant but still good, thx

  • Thanks and yeah the next wont be that redundant hehe '^_^'

  • too redundant....

  • Yeah sorry...I know it was pretty bad...

  • never start with ur lead leg. u want ur strong foot with ur second step and if ur left footed u with still come in at an angle.. i like how nice u are tho. thats good bc alot of ppl are gay. and as a helper u need to bring ur leg into ur body more so u have more power. practice a tick tack with both legs it is good training for a wall run overall pretty good tho ur shit is true the ariake is the best out there and is what i recommend dont get all white tho the shoe quality mostly focuses on grip

  • u can start with yopur lead leg if you do a three step or something

  • thanks nice tutorial.

  • Thank you very much for your kind and considerate comment!

I'm getting another one up as soon as possible. I'm glad this helped.

  • man seriously i know this sounds so racist but there are so many aggressive americans on youtube and myspace etc (not that there aren't a load of rude british people too)

anyway, its really nice when you come across someone who makes good videos who's a really warm and down to earth person. keep it up!!!

  • I'm leaving this both on the video page and your profile. Thank you so much for your comment!

That's all I really aimed for, a down to earth video and honest explanations. I know I am not great at wall runs, and I admit that 100%! Unlike some other people think they are the best at something when they really look idiotic...

  • And it isn't racist about the American people...it's sadly the truth...most people are rude...at least of what I perceive about America. And most likely the rest of the world is like so as well!

  • It's also nice to know that there are still some decent people out there who can understand when someone is trying to give help as best as he/she can, even though they haven't mastered the subject! I swear some of the comments I received were completely rude and ridiculous! Why don't people understand that sometimes the beginner understands more than the master?

Oh and of course...a person who has the heart and ability to give words of kindness! It's a rare thing it seems...

  • i agree youtube flame wars are like an american pasttime, i am american but i do agree with you

  • Hah, well said :p

  • lol "oh I can stick to the wall because there are spikes on it" XD

    nice tips

  • Thanks for your kind words! Hat's off to you for actually catching the purpose of my video! Good luck.
