@TheChocolateCrunchy You don't know anything about goldfish history and plasticity of carassius auratus genotype. Mankid has not created anything, all was deep within carassius genotype: big eyes, bubbles, high body, multi-tails. All fancy goldfish, existing for centuries, are perfectly happy to live as they are....only if they have enough clean water, good cares and good food. There are not at all "genetic monsters" as i can read sometimes...
@TheChocolateCrunchy There i nothing wrong with this fish its perfectly healthy it's just a bubble eye. They have been selectively bred for hundred of years like this. It looks they way it does because it's parents were bubble eyes too. This is a nice fish.
All Goldfish have been bred from self colour Carassius Carassius ... all Goldfish that we refer to as Carrasius Auratus , were because of mixing as you term it
It probably is. Fancy goldfish breeding is just one of the many fucked up things people do to other forms of life and think it's okay. These people disgust me.
Yeah! I mean, I doubt the fish experiences pain from the deformity, (although fish can feel pain as well as all other vertebrates, including humans), but I mean still... They can't even swim, digest, metabolise, or breathe as efficiently as their comet goldfish cousins. I would not consider any of the physical traits of a fancy goldfish "desirable" because it makes them look like they have dropsy or tumors, and their swimming pattern is sad-looking.
So true. I have 3 8" comet goldfish that my friends gave me from the fair as prizes. They live in a 72 gallon tank with a young red-eared slider turtle and a massive filtration unit. I think those are the prettiest and simplest breeds of goldfishes, and the "fancy" ones just always seem to have problems. I mean, they can't even eat from the surface without risking air ingestion and swim bladder malfunction, which can result in pain, immobility, and even death. My comets never had those issues!
Yeahhh...like Pedigree dogs I guess. I have 3 fantails and they seems to be one of the simplest fancy goldfish...I got those because I find comets really dull. My fancies at the moment seem to have no problems swim bladder wise, or otherwise. Mind you, I do have a Basset Hound dog as well. Sigh...

i know,
to be honest i think they look more pitiful than beutiful,
they literally look more deformed and ill than desirable,
i don't understand how people can call them beutiful when they look disabled,
especially when they swim,
it looks unnatural, like every movement causes them pain
