Brilliant. Older folk have so much to offer. In the past they were better valued by family, community; and were respected by children. We can learn so much from their experience, and should do all we can to include them in our activities. Leaving them out is leaving the best ingredient out of the cake of life.
I loved this video. This just shows that no matter how old we may get, no matter what ails us or if we cannot move our limbs, there is still a child somewhere deep within us.
The memories and happiness invoked by this simple game of hop-scotch for these Senior Citizens is priceless.
What a great way to share the present way with our seniors, it's a blessing to have people who will spend this enormous amount of time to bring the generations together. I assume all the seniors have had the opportunity to view the finished product. Kudos to all involved. All your hard earned work paid off.
This makes me think, how I appreciate my grandmother. She cannot use her other leg and other hand anymore and sometimes she is waiting for death to come, but for example one time when I was visiting her, she told me the poem which she read last time 80 years ago and she still remebers it! I read her few of poems made by me and she was delighted. We don't notice old people very often, but please! Ask something about their childhood or early dreams.
We are born and we start right off learning and discovering new things everyday. The world is magic to us in our youth. Hopefully we can keep part of our childs-perspective of the world around us and in us. With luck we age. That's the way of things. Life is still beautiful and exciting. This was a lovely piece about that gift we all share. Simply to be, is beautiful. Life is juicy!! A lovely video. Thanks for inviting me to share these thoughts, provoked as I watched it!
I didn't quite get the Itchy Bay either...but now I know. YES...it is nice that the senior citizens in the world are given the opportunity to do something they did as children. I especially liked the woman with the scarf on her head. THIS WAS GOOD
That was just magical! Please say a big thank you to all the people who took part & to you for creating this - it was so touching & thought provoking :O)
That was beautiful! It struck me that a University of Toronto student did a similar performance art. The student spray painted a grid with numbers (Hopskotch) and caught a business man hopskotching! I still cannot understand why such a marvelous performance art has so few viewers...I guess this generation just does not care, or understand their elderly.
thanks for your kind comments, the participants in the units made the song, working with Sue kane on the lyrics and Andy jackson on the tune, and a singign tutor Chatherine Holbrook. Thanks again for your kind comments...
Awwwww, truly warms my heart! Thank you for sharing!

Very creative. I'm curious as to why you seem to use the elderly as a focal point when you do.

What an excellent tribute to our older generation,
like myself. And some trolls say I shouldn't be on YT.
That I'm too old.

Visual poetry. Quite striking. I'm happy when a filmmaker requires the audience to think a little, as you have done here. Very well done.
