What this person did was *incredibly* stupid. It was a textbook example of how people get killed in the mountains. Please, if you hike in the wilderness, even if it has developed sections like the Cable Route on Half Dome, use common sense and always put safety first. This man does not know how lucky he was that he didn't lose his footing on that smooth granite. One slip would have been fatal. I'm glad he didn't fall, but I wish there had been a ranger there to arrest him when he got down.
