I think it's telling the story of the Finnish Trolls killing Christians.

My Swedish is still quite bad, but I think "Kristmän nu falla vi ta deras skalp" roughly means: "Christian men now fall, we take their scalp".

And the very last lines of the song

Mjöd, which is called Mead in English btw, isn't from the Vikings at all. It's a drink that's been around for at least 7000 years. Indians decribed mead in ancient text long before the Vikings even came into being!

well it was the christian, when they came to us in the cold old north, that made the trolls anti-christian.

before they came to scandinavia, trolls was more like monsters that ate human flesh.. but soon thay needed to rest, they slept in several years, but soon the christian woke the angry trolls by their churchbells, and so the trolls became "anti-cristians"... by burning their churches and so on... it was not only the trolls but also the giants and other forest creatures

I'm Christian, and Finntroll is one of my favorite bands. Yes, there is a lot of lyrical content about killing Christians, but that's what trolls do. I doubt the members of Finntroll actually go around in the woods looking for Christians to kill; they're staying true to Scandinavian myth.

Amazing...When we were on an excursion with my class (I'm a student of a Catholic school xD) and we were up on a hill where the scenery was awesome I started to listening it and thought I could fly over the mountains and fight in the great battle.

Because most don't actually pay attention to the lyrics. The style of music means nothing. It's the lyrics that must be paid attention to. The opinion is changing from what you said. Mostly it's the older generation that thinks that. I don't know about other people, but metal lets me vent a lot of anger. I don't have to be angry to listen to it though.
