It was a good song, although it was hard to keep the balance between the men and the womens voices, as the men were outnumbered 3:1, so it was sometimes difficult to hear the men over the women at times. Well, from where I was standing anyway.
Hello! I read your description, etc., but am wondering whether the Dunedin Railway Station is a TYPICAL venue for concerts? Are the acoustics adequate? It's extraordinarily beautiful; and, the singing is lovely, too!
Yes and no. The Cantores Choir often performs at the railway station, but I don't think that any other choirs do. As for the acoustics, for the choir itself a lot of it gets lost, it sounds kind of two dimensional if that makes sense? But for the public who are downstairs, it sounds wonderful. The music sort of floats down. We also did a round from the four corners upstairs and although it was difficult for us to hear and keep the timing etc, downstairs it sounded perfect. Thanks :)
Hey Celeste, nice post of a Cantores pre-concert practice, sounds good thanks
