mj just go away and shut up-history will show what a train wreck pres zero and all the dumb asses like you who voted for and supported him.socialism does not work nor did it ever in history so what makes you think,if thats possible, that this time is different.move on get a job or hobby
How has he changed things for the better or brought us all together? he hasn't now, we are just scared that our grandparents are going to be denied healthcare by government death panels and that our taxes are going up and our kids are being taught allegiance to Obama in school instead of allegiance to the flag. I can't wait to vote in someone new!
and now our country is falling apart. I would like to thank you and everyone who voted for Obama for facilitating our destruction and hastening our march towards socialism.
Not that there's necessarily anything wrong with socialism, I'll bite. George Bush nationalized the banks before leaving office. (That's socialism with a different name) Many of our government services are socialized already for example: Fire departments, police, defense, social security... everyone pays in, everyone gets some. Take your hate mongering elsewhere. Nice video :)
"Not that there's necessarily anything wrong with socialism"
aside from socialist economies usually experiencing stagnation or anemic growth, as opposed to the soaring growth the US (a capitalist country) has experienced over the past 30 years
"fire departments, police"
which are payed for by local governments to enforce de jure property rights (not socialism)
"defense"
like hell. all our "defense" budget goes to funding wars overseas!
Oh yes, the last eight years have been an enjoyable wonderful bliss. Where are the weapons of mass destruction? Where's that "Mission Accomplished" banner? 4273 dead US soliders. 100,000 civilian deaths. For what. Lies. Oh yes, the last three months are the beginning of the destruction of this great country. Based off of what. Republican Talking Points. Or should I say a bunch ignorant incest driven uneducated hillbillies who think they know anything and everything with a 7th grade education
The Republican and Libertarian criticisms are based upon 35 years of experience and academic research. Obama is wrong on the economy, he's wrong on civil liberties, he's wrong on tax policy, he's wrong on just about EVERYTHING.
I can hardly imagine what you must know about the truth of our nation's history when you say that the the nation is coming together more than any time in our nation's history. The truth is that our nation is currently falling apart more than any time in our nation's history.
he's a well-groomed puppet, so I presume he will dance to whichever song his masters sing for him. I'm very afraid that all those people that voted for him may be in for a not-so-gentle let down.
On another note ....if Obama getting electd is the your personel "BEST Day Ever"....you need a life MJ....and actually if im posting about your lack of life ..so do I.
I plan on waiting to see how he handles his first major crisis b4 i get geeked about Presdident elect Obama. I am optimistic. My main concern is for the people that act like hes the second coming . You voted for a man not a superhero. Expect no more from him then you would any other politician. By all accouints hes voted along party lines 97% of his time in the senate..you can expect the same from him as president. Thats not a bad thing or a good thing. Its what politicains do.
MJ u r hot and you are smart and geeky and u should marry me!
on a serious note people should understand that change will take time. obama winning is not the "on flip-switch" to a better economy. i'm so relieved that he won. god bless.
There is much to be optimistic about...the global ramifications of this election are already in motion
Every time someone suggests a lack of confidence in Obama, all I can think of is the guy who has been in office for the last 8 years. I was fed up with Bush 43 in 2002. The opportunity for redemption looms large.
Nuance is irrelevant: race is a social construct, not a well-defined biological concept. A person's heritage is whatever we define it to be. For political purposes, a black person is someone who would have suffered discrimination for being black. In 1950s Alabama, Barrack Obama would have ridden at the back of the bus, drunk from the "colored" water fountain, and been effectively denied many of the privileges of citizenship. In my book, that makes him as black as the darkest pure-blood African.
My comment was in the context of 2008, when some of us can possibly learn something from & about a person with a black father & a white mother. There is nuance to that. It is all the more relevant because, as you stated, in the past "black" was anything not pure white.
You are always bright and lively, and your work is much appreciated. But do you have to use that awful modern slang "sick" to describe something as being good??? Ouch! It's one bend too many in the use of our language. However, once more--- your postings are entertaining, intelligent, and appreciated. Good luck!
I am very pleased with the results. Not just that Obama won, but that he won by such a large margin. Also, I'm glad that McCain was so gracious in his defeat. I'm confident that the nation's future will benefit greatly.
Hopefully I'll see you in Washington. Do you know where you'll be staying? I'm having a hard time finding accomodations I can afford.
Both mccain and obama are nearly identical on every issue that matters. mccbam will change nothing that matters. If he gets rid of nafta (like he promised) he may be a decent president.
As a Canadian I could neither vote for Obama nor contribute to his campaign. In lieu of that, please accept my heartfelt thanks for the effort you and your fellow volunteers put into getting him elected.
hmm i really hope that front page of the LA Times isn't the last thing you add to your obama scrap book. I hope that there a lots of headlines from his 8 years of presidency that also find there way into that scrap book. This is the beginning and not the end :)
MJ, At first I liked you (a year ago) and after awhile I began to think you you were too conservative for my taste; and now I'm realizing you rock in an intellectually way that resonates with deeper feelings. Rock on conservative/liberal hot chick! The night is ours!!! Does this make any sense?
I clearly dont understand that if you dislike Obama, then why would you watch this? I mean, besides to bitch about what would have been...what could have been if McCain won. Shut up, grow some nuts, get out of your parents house and do something productive with your lives.
I do not know if that last question was for me, but I will answer you.
4 years I ago I was not old enough to vote. However, I would have voted for whoever I thought could lead for the most people. I refuse to vote simply on the basis of one's political party distinction.
I vote for who ever I feel will bring the most good to the most people. Also, someone that is able to look at problems from both sides.
The world is not black and white, but it is simply put shades of gray.
I am soooo happy that we finally elected someone that will bring us a better reputation with the rest of the world. (I hope.) Thanks, Melissa, for uploading your thoughts on Obama, Palin, and all of it. Itwas nice to have someone as positive as you to llisten to when I felt down about our country.
And for all the people that don't like him, Obama's changes will take time. Please give him a chance to prove himself.
Well, the Mesiah won, You all voted for him for "CHANGE." Now, I just love, even before he wa sSWORN in, Barack makes a speech and states, "I don't think I can change anything in my term."

Then you're going to explode in your pants everyday for the next 4 years, because Obama is going to continue the exact same spending policies.

Saddam had the equipment to make WMDs, which could have made WMDs in a few weeks.
Oh and BTW, Obama is going to continue the same BS interventionist foreign policy. Mark my words!
