Nice bounty ! I live in Boyertown pa , near Barto is the west branch of the perkiomen creek makes for good crawfish hunting. Some of the nicest crawfish with the meat I found is in the loyalsock river up around worlds end state park.
Nice. But every kit should have Zatarain's® Crab, Shrimp & Crawfish boil. It can also substitute for gold and silver in Louisiana should the economy collapse. Laissez les bons temps rouler.
@HawkLMT there isn't much we haven't had in the house over the years. Go out, catch a snake, kids tired of it in a few days, out it goes! same with turtles, frogs, fish, you name it.
Did you purge them first? I hope so otherwise I'm afraid you are likely in for a tummy ache. Properly prepared and cooked they are awesome. Hard to find them in sufficient size and quantity to make a meal outside LA and parts of MS.
@unknownperpetrator yeah, choosing specimens worth a bite is more difficult here. But in some grand scheme, food is food. We only take them from areas with moving water, and usually have them for at least 24 hrs with several changes of water before cooking. The difference in "dirt" between these and those from a lake(once was enough...) is amazing.
