A Malaysian regional-government is arresting Ahmadis and professing non-Muslims for no crime other than religious worship. Several Malaysian states criminalize converting from Islam and other states, although they don't execute. So it's a lot better than some other states like Iran and Pakistan, but it's still got a long way to go.

although i like how streams have been using social media tools to create talking points but on this case in particular the crew had not done their homework well, they were clearly throwing guesses on the make up of malaysian constitution, foreign policy questions on immigration and opposition grievances on local politics. the program didn't manage to give a historical background on the questions they wanted to address and haphazardly tried to stitch it with irrelevant social media blurbs.

Let me first tell you that this country was Colonized by the East India Company - working for the British Crown - and there were essentially only TWO classes of people, "white" and "non-white" - Didn't matter what you're nationality was, so long as you were "Non-White" you had little or no chance of making it to the top.That's discrimination

Being a Malay guarantees a wider range of benefits even though that Malay has the same qualities of a non-Malay. Denying Non-Malays of certain benefits or privileges because of the colour of their skin is equivalent to discrimination. The reality is that equal treatment does not exist in Malaysia now. Yes, the government is supposed to take care of us to a certain degree, like education and healthcare. More specifically, it is supposed to provide help to those that can't afford it, but instead it is providing help based on race.

A foreign student is allowed to work in Malaysia :S they can get a work visa. I saw it on the International Islamic University website. You have to have special permission for this visa though.

i find some of the questions not relevant to the topic like should foreign students get to work in Malaysia. Foreign students should study, not work.

On the other hand , there is no discussion on how the East Malaysia tribes (mainly Christian) are badly treated by the government.

In the case of Malaysia, while is it not impossible to work while studying, it is very difficult to finance your studies while in the country (esp. with private uni.), considering the pitiful pay foreign workers get (even on fulltime).

Those that work normally do so to in the semester break, normally to gain some work experience or to kill the time.
