  • The Malaysian Chinese want a bigger share in government post but they already have biggest share in economic sector. If you read the in job application newspaper ad, they will specifically ask for Chinese and Mandarin speaking people only. What do the Chinese really want? Power? Money?

  • Sdap je kate malayshit...indonkiparatbabi

  • I appreciate that this topic is being debated internationally. However, I strongly feel that a Malaysian journalist/editor to provide a fair and accurate account of the situation that Malays and non Malays face, because we're not asking the right and blunt questions such as why do we follow a racial quota system in public university entrance when it should be based on student's best performance whether academically or sports or etc? I understand this system was created years ago to help the low

  • dudes, try to understand this: Malaysia is a multiracial country. we realised of the importance of the multi-ethnics in this country. but then, since the independence day, those politicians still talking bout races after 50 years of liberalisation? come' on! people had changed. we move on and these thing is the one that kept us divided. so lets just forget once and for all, the word "race" and substitute it with "nation". that will be more appropriate.

  • minorities in other countries didn't has freedom as much as they got in Malaysia. How many countries in this world that consider to give an annual holidays to any celebrations, celebrated by the minorities? consider 2 allowed the minorities to have their own kind of schools? allowed d minorities 2 practice their own cultures, religions, and language? most of the minorities abandon their own cultures and practices just to avoid alienation in other countries...but not in M'sia, sgpore and ect.,.

  • @andreatia21,

A Malaysian regional-government is arresting Ahmadis and professing non-Muslims for no crime other than religious worship. Several Malaysian states criminalize converting from Islam and other states, although they don't execute. So it's a lot better than some other states like Iran and Pakistan, but it's still got a long way to go.

  • @andreatia21 i'm totally agree with you......

  • flat nose mongoloid whore and their monotheishit

  • the world is a suck place to live.. the racism never comes to the end...we're just like an animal killing each other like a food chain..the more wealthy that country the more higher in the food chain...

  • Most Malaysians (Muslims,Buddhists, Hindus, etc) are peace-loving and friendly people. But there are some extremist groups within these religious community.

  • Islam is tolerant of all other religions..... as long as they are islam

  • @dubaipete You're absolutely right !!!

  • @dubaipete You're absolutely right !!!

  • what the?? this guy just goes on the internet to do his news. cheap and nasty

  • @noraklagrangian This isn't news dude.

  • It it natural, all Majorities in the world want to keep their superiority, but it will increase tension in that country. How about EQUALITY ?

  • Muslim countries are hell on earth

  • although i like how streams have been using social media tools to create talking points but on this case in particular the crew had not done their homework well, they were clearly throwing guesses on the make up of malaysian constitution, foreign policy questions on immigration and opposition grievances on local politics. the program didn't manage to give a historical background on the questions they wanted to address and haphazardly tried to stitch it with irrelevant social media blurbs.

  • i love Malaysia such a nice country and humble people. get your actions together xD

  • With religious bigots in charge and reluctance to accept meritocracy, how Malaysia is to be a developed nation by 2020?

  • @rhr1988 well said! It is not 2020 but 2200...

  • Al-jazeera just poured oil over a tension fire in Malaysia. Not good. Not good at all.

  • @Zakaria90 Blaming the messenger won't work. :-)

  • Malayshit,, u ar BUURRRNNN !!!

  • Look up "OPERATION METAL-GEAR"! " We do not forget".

  • Rising ethnic and religious tensions continue to divide Malaysia but only 1 political party is causing all this. That guy on the left of the skype stream is talented but too bad he belong to that party. I'm glad Marina not thinking like her father. That specky guy... I'm ready to give his party and coalition a chance to MANAGE this country.

  • Is this an organic program or are you fomenting social unrest though twitter, facebook, myspace, etc. It seems with the ability to filter opinion you also have the power to shape opinion of the uninformed unwashed masses.

  • To be malay u have to be born malay..... otherwise u r a convert, for indians it would mamaks and chinese I dont know the term but it is not very complimentary. Both sides consider those being malay traitors, opportunists (special malay benefits) or seriously in love with their partners to convert.

The school system is fantastic... look at Penang.. we have the highest scoring students in the national test in chinese schools which is why malays sent their children t those schools to get that edu

  • we have more chines more indians more other cultures & religions in dubai than malaysia & its islamic state & all do know what ramadan is so wtf is happening now in malaysia ???? first they started with ramadan & muslims then foreign students

so fuck off it wont be another sudan idiots,,,,,,,,,,,,,

  • Even as an Indian I first want South East Asia to be stable, as it's beauty hasn't been fully diluted by religious divisions.

  • Any country that doesn't separate bullshit religion from the state is a country of morons.

  • @movieklump shutup we have a good culuture better than ur lack of belief

  • Propaganda for Islam in Malaysia.

  • This Ladies and Gentlemen - is how the New World Order - tries to destabilize countries which are peaceful, in order to stage an excuse for invasion...

  • @MathewTitus What peace? If Muslim where treated as they treat the minorities in Malaysia, they would nave already bombed the country. It's peaceful because the oppressed are not rioting violently

  • @annata12

Minorities? - Since when has there been discrimination against "minorities" ?

In Malaysia, everyone has got a fair chance at prosperity because each race has its own particular talent - and each race contributes to the well-being of the other.

People who say that there is discrimination - are the ones who are too lazy - or, too dumb - to take advantage of the highly stable society that the Malaysian Government has provided to its citizens - for over 40 years!

  • @MathewTitus Hi. matthew titus, how do you define discrimination? Discrimination is prejudicial treatment of someone based on their membership in certain group or category. (Wikipedia). I appreciate it if you do your research into the racial quota system in education, the New Economic Policy introduced by Mahatir and the Malay Supremacy ideology. To write hardworking Malaysians off as lazy or dumb when we speak of discrimination is tantamount to downright ignorance and laziness to research.

  • @hosuwei10

If you use that "Wikipedea" definition - then I suppose we are ALL "discriminated" - but there is a much better word - "distinct"

Let me first tell you that this country was Colonized by the East India Company - working for the British Crown - and there were essentially only TWO classes of people, "white" and "non-white" - Didn't matter what you're nationality was, so long as you were "Non-White" you had little or no chance of making it to the top. That's discrimination

  • @MathewTitus I do not see the relevance of your argument. Why are you talking about events 100-200 years ago? Being a Malay guarantees a wider range of benefits even though that Malay has the same qualities of a non-Malay. Denying Non-Malays of certain benefits or privileges because of the colour of their skin is equivalent to discrimination. So are you saying it's perfectly alright if we are treated based on the color of our skin?

  • @hosuwei10

You are asking for "benefits"? You want the Governement to take care of you? Like the Government does in Europe? Or, in America? - Is that what you want?

The reason you don't see the relevance of History - is because you don't know enough about it. What was true back then - is still true today.

It's PERFECTLY ALRIGHT if the Government gives us (Malay or Non-Malay) NO HELP WHATSOEVER. The more "help" you get - the more DEPENDANT you are on it.

  • @MathewTitus Stay on topic. We are talking about treatment based on the color of our skin by the government, not whether we are dependent on it. The reality is that equal treatment does not exist in Malaysia now. Yes, the government is supposed to take care of us to a certain degree, like education and healthcare. More specifically, it is supposed to provide help to those that can't afford it, but instead it is providing help based on race.

  • @MathewTitus Well, maybe i don't know enough about history, but the British are gone for about 40 years now, so enlighten me how your argument about "non-white and white" is still relevant today.

  • @annata12 You are NOT oppressed. You have no idea what oppression is. Malaysian have had a stable and benevolent government - unlike many other countries, like the United States for instance. Their corrupt banker-occupied government is now not only sending the children of the poor off to die in a fake war - they have now moved to bankrupt every middle class family in the country through a financial scam. THAT is OPPRESSION.

  • A foreign student is allowed to work in Malaysia :S they can get a work visa. I saw it on the International Islamic University website. You have to have special permission for this visa though.

  • this is made up bulshit

  • i find some of the questions not relevant to the topic like should foreign students get to work in Malaysia. Foreign students should study, not work.

On the other hand , there is no discussion on how the East Malaysia tribes (mainly Christian) are badly treated by the government.

  • @rhr1988 its hard to do an exchange in a country and not work during that duration, unless you plan on incurring large student debts, working in a country increases the contacts and the different level of immersion that students recieve

  • @im1canadain

In the case of Malaysia, while is it not impossible to work while studying, it is very difficult to finance your studies while in the country (esp. with private uni.), considering the pitiful pay foreign workers get (even on fulltime).

Those that work normally do so to in the semester break, normally to gain some work experience or to kill the time.

  • Khairy: deserving Malays = UMNOputras? undeserving Malays and Bumis = vast majority of Malays and natives sabahans and sarawakians?

  • Stupid religions...

  • those intolerance is incited by the government to get political mileage.

  • Al Jazeera is not credible. You've been warned, the next thing you know, they'll be promoting the international community to bomb Malaysia.

  • @eflip1 Why? whats your evidence?

  • @Sagefrakrobatik Libya.

  • Malaysia is a muslim country, whats there to argue about?

    don't like it, gtfo

  • @Koldness99 One third of the population isnt!

Malaysia should show how tolerant and peaceful religion of Islam is or Muslim should STFU.

  • Comment removed

  • @Koldness99 +1 Amen to that brother.

  • Someone pushed the thumb down button already?

  • @nadoeloiskat Bots, they don't even bother listening to what they down vote. Look up "Operation Metal-Gear".

  • @bluegreen1138 Yeah, sure, bots. Makes perfect sense even though there are no intervals and it isn't a flood of dislikes but a very gradual flow of likes and dislikes. Get your head out of your ass.
