Lord Pym says that her 'weakness' was she was opposed to "compromise" with socialists... she had a truck load of old upper class men with great big egos who were used to getting their egos stroked and their wants pandered to...the very idea of this "lower middle class woman" telling these egos what to do!!...the politicians that did not like serving with the PM should have done the honorable action and resigned, they did not!! She did her best to reverse (great?) Britain's decline.
She was colossaly right about some and endlessly wrong about other aspects. a person who did things that had to be done and a person who inflicted havoc on others...a fascinating figure, far from perfect and hated with a passion by some for good reasons
Brilliant woman, shame she was surrounded by a bunch of wets. Shame SJP were too greedy to hang onto the wealth she handed out to all those that bought their council houses. They proved their greed by splashing out on new cars/holidays and frittering away their windfalls instead of hanging onto their free nestegg.....Unions were as bad as the HSE are now, both managing to bring the country to its knees. One thing history teaches us, is that history doesn't teach us.
She may have been right about Europe, but Jim Prior was spot on - Britain has never recovered its manufacturing base since those early 80's. She stuck to her guns on policy, but British industry paid the price.
She destroyed the British economy - yay. She took Britain into an unnecessary war.
What a shame her son didn't have the b.... to go to the front line. But I guess it's only the riff raff who have to do the killing and the dying for Thatcher the psycophathic coward.
She showed strength that so few had in the decades before her. Was she kind? No. Was she always right? No. Was she what Britain needed at the time? Probably. Can't love her or hate her. The UK was a mess when she came to office. Harsh medicine was needed but not embraced.
You wouldn't know "democracy" if you fell over it. When you have the media monopolies on your side you can win any election and Murdoch was thoroughly behind this filthy guttersnipe of a woman.
Did you go to the Falklands - did you give your son's life for this filthy woman?
As I said - she wouldn't have been so tough if her own son was at the front line - cowardly piece of shit.
@Helenmary123 Rant on darlin'. You don't know a damn thing about me, what I believe in or what I've done so all you're doing is showing the world that you're every bit as narrow and dictatorial as those who claim to despise. If you all you have to offer is jumping to assumptions about people you know nothing about and indulging in personal attacks you're just trolling. Pointless.
We no longer have politicians of principle... regardless of political leaning and ideological attachment it is fair to say that many modern 'politicians' shrink in the shadow of public servants of the past...
Like her or loathe her it was perfectly right what the cabinet did, we do not elect a Prime Minister, that office is given to the person who can command a majority in cabinet and in the house of commons, so if the cabinet does not vote with the P.M or think they are the right person, the P.M as to go.
What treachery! her own party forced her out. What right did her cabinet have in ousting her? surely as a democracy it should have been the people that elected her in office to oust her.,

Where there was kindness, that woman brought greed
Where there was 'us', that woman brought 'me'
Where there was love, that woman brought hate
Where there was good, that 'woman' brought evil.

Some people love dictatorial, authoritarian rulers - you are obviously one.
The rest of us want a real democracy.

@Helenmary123 Seem to remember she was democratically elected 3 times. Don't assume you know a damn thing about my politics.

You mean the freedom to starve! This woman is a real nutter - she wouldn't know democracy if it was shoved up her bottom.
"Wets" - lol - she didn't have to go to her filthy war - nor did her son - other peoples' sons died for this filthy, cowardly woman.

@MrMdjmeredith That's Westminster Democracy. You don't elect a leader, you elect a group of individuals who choose a leader.
