I think the reason why this is "part 3" and not 2 is because back in 1982 many people still had vinyl record players. I had one myself, and I had the single to this. It was too long for the entire song to fit on those small "single" LPs, thus, the original was broken in half to put on the single vinyl LP. Thus, "parts 1 and 2" and this became "part 3."

I always thought classics were for old people and geeks, I hated classics until I heard this years years ago after my parents bought the cds, then it really got me listening to the classics and really appreciate all the beautiful works. Whoever came up with this idea was a genius!

I agree with you and it also took me a while to acquire a taste for classical music. These works are done in just a proper way to not be disrespectful to the great composers.

I plan to play this music when my grandchildren visit. They are 4 and 5.

@guirexyz --yes, I actually listened this record when it came out in 1982, I was 15 then and I remember my dad always told me I should listen to the full, original versions of these pieces. But I'd not stop listening to these "hooked" versions!!. Well, thanks to this record I came to love classical music -and did actually listened to the full versions hundred times over.... And, now, thanks to youtube, I revisit them with much affection!

On the disk "Hooked on Classics", track 3 is written "Hooked On Classics Part 3", because track 1 is mentioned as "Hooked on Classics Parts 1+2" (I don't know why)

@ensimon the tittle "Hooked on Classics parts 1+2" comes from the vinil single, on the B side the medley is on two parts, the first medley has Piano Concerto, the Bumble-Bee, Symphony 40, Rhapsody in Blue, Karelia Suite, the Marriage of Figaro, etc. And the second medley begins with Karelia Suite, Symphony 5, Toccata, Eine Kleine Natchmusik, Symphony 9, William Tell, the Marriage of Figaro and the March of the Toreadors.
