You know what I don't get? in the forst game Fire Emblem: Path of Radience Ike kills Oliver. He kills Oliver because he bought Reyson off of Nessalah. So now in the sequal Why is he alive? In the first game, Ike saves Reyson and the Herons forgive the Appostle Sananki. So whats the deal here people.

Lekain plotted against Oliver to pay him back for sending the Raven King to steal from his ships, which is why the Apostle got the idea to send Ike and Co. to check out Oliver out of all other Senators.
Oliver isn't evil, he is a fool. An old fool who is losing it due to old age and years of pompous politicking. Yes, his manner is disguising if taken seriously, but if you can accept he is a silly fat mad man, his dialogue can be funny.

Everyone sees him as a useless fat bastard. I see him as a repenting man, who has a fine taste in art. He even hellps you when he sees Rafiel, the people he used to enslave. He even turns against his own comrades for this sake of protecting him. So he may be hated, and pretty damn useless, but he truely must be credited for at least this.

love it when Oliver puts on his black suit of Armor, picks up the holy blade alondite that Asherea gave him in hopes he wouldn't kill her, and goes to beat the shit out of Ike in POR.
But after beating Ike so many times, he got bored, and gave both the armor and the blade to his disiple of beauty, Sephiran, who then gave it to his man-slave, Zelgius.
@opianista81 Oliver is the real hero of the game. Everyone else is just a poser. I bet at night, Reyson sobs because he cannot find a lover who satisfies him like Oliver did.
@hjt091 Oliver really isn't a bad bishop, he's just not as good as the others. If you didn't already have them, he'd be a great addition, fat or no. At least in this game he doesn't look tumorous like in the first one.
I think hes an useless waste of space but his battle music and death music are quite interesting i always recruit To get hands on the powerfull light spell Nostrafou if thats spelled right.
Odd... I ended up with his Eva at nearly 100... o-o I just did a mage-centric playthrough, and personally I found that in the last/second last battle he's the most self-standing efficient mage... Except for Micaiah, of course, but she just doesn't count. :P
Ahhh, that's rotten luck... :( I had him missed by a 83 and two 88 accuracy weapons in the same turn. As far as I've had it he's been borderline untouchable.
She's always really slow, as far as I've had. I always gave her a specialized Light tome, with the highest hit possible (wait for triple arrow to come up)... I think that's really the best bet for her being any use other than in the last few levels; it's lovely that nobody can hit her anymore.... xD
Her speed isn't a bother, given how ridiculously high her magic power is. Besides, to be fair, her speed growth is actually the same as Ike. If it gets in your way, give Micaiah Resolve; that's more than enough to double in Part 1.
There's no need to give Micaiah any specialised tomes: just give her Thani, a decent avoid support, and watch those poor Begnion bastards burn.
Playing through again (yet...yet...again) I've found Laura to be an even greater unit - any white mage who caps their MAG so high and so quickly is without a doubt very efficient, and with supports and a few item boosts, she can be fantastic...
on the other hand, she's in the fail brigade, and there are better healers to take into the tower. IE, Micaiah, Elincia, Mist... and the herons, if you count them.
But we can use that to our advantage. :D Since only Micaiah and Sothe need EXP, give any spare to Laura. I trained her 100% on BEXP the first time through, and she turned out my best healer. o_o She really is an epic unit, but the Fail Brigade killed her image. :p
Nolan is a waste of space in the tower, due to the surprising lack of Lance units, and ability to kill them easily. (A single mage can tear Levail, the best of them all, to pieces)
Edward is fairly decent, but the other Swordmasters in the game can be so much more convenient... I would use Mia before any other, though Eddie second for sure.
on the other hand, Nolan is earth aligned, so a high level support with him is helpful to anyone and the weapon triangle doesn't much matter by the endgame.
Illyana, she is by far the best Anima magic user, she has more strenght than many melee characters and she can solo the dragon stage. Laura's class is godly. Unless u've maxed out every dawn brigade characer you cannot understad why people use them so much. And typing channlish is faster, and allow info to be transported faster
Ilyana is passable...if only just... Strength matters near-nought for magic users, and the little importance it has can be gained by any, really. xp
She's the only one who can use Rexbolt (?), though, so kudos to her. However, her magic, defense and speed have holes in them, her class considered...
The only reason she can solo the dragon stage is because of her lightning advantage, and probably Rexbolt. Notably, Kurthnaga can solo the stage on (hypothetically) level 1,
Soren only beats her in Magic, Calill only beats her in lck and skill. Tormod only beats her in spd. She is easily the most rounded of all the anima users. Her def is tenfold Soren's and her growths r better as an archsage. Kurth can solo the dragon stage, but he'll probably take a few hours. Ilyana can solo but survive hits from dheginsea and many red dragons. Yeh i tried and was able ot solo with kurth, believe me my friend, it will take atleast an hour and a half
when u say fail brigade, r u implying that the dawn brigade sucks. U r pathetically mistaken my friend. Every character in the dawn brigade turns out the best of their class. Laura, surprisingly, is the ebst magic user in the game. Forget healing, she is a power house with unsuaul defence. If turned into a lvl 20 saint or even lvl 15 (thats when most her stuff is maxed) she iwll be ur MVP from matches hereafter
they are the fail brigade because they don't get enough screentime and they are burdened with leonardo, meg, and fiona. damn fiona. even meg is marginally useful the first time you get her.
u do realize that every one in the brigade, turns out the best of their class. Each time i've played this game, my final 11 always consisted of the brigade, except volug. U clearly have never maxed out any of the following above, or u'd would never day Leo is a burden.
would you please type in english and not Chanlish? And Godtrie beats Meg, no contest. Shinon is a candidate for best archer in *Fire Emblem* and Illyana is good for panty shots. okay, she's awesome. I do agree that Nolan, Edward and laura are the best of their classes, but you don't need laura's class anyway.
. Anyway, the saint class is amazing as they wield the only magic in the game that can screw over any boss (Rexaura), i was able to get Laura to kill Ashera in 3 turns of one on one. Now meg, she has the best speed, luck, and skill. Her strength is second to gatrie and her def & res is lower than Brom and Tauroneo's, but she is more useful because her Def is not that bad. Its not godly, but its real good. She can easily h0ld her own against an army and attack twice
Micaiah is hopeless. Please don't try and deny it.
Sothe can't beat Volke.. Their stats are almost the same, but Volke comes with an awesome knife and a the Assassin class. Not by biology, but by pure image, Sothe is outclassed.
Meg is definitely the best armoured unit, but by the time you don't need punching bags, armours become...well...eh.
Haar is s demi-god, Jill is a full goddess. If haar does 25 damage, Jill will do 22 damage twice, plus her res is much better. Only her defense is a flaw compoared to Haar. Ed is Stat wise the best swordmaster in the game, Mia has less str then Illyana, and i dont care how high her skill is, if she can only do 2 damage, she can only do 6 on a critical. And Ed outclasses her in every stat xcept speed. Ed>stefan>Zihark>Mia>......Lucia. Thats how it works,
Ahh... I exclude Titania by defualt (due to her status as a 'Jeigan'), and I've never been overly fond of Kieran. xp But mentioning it, both are considerably better than Nolan.

@hjt091 Oliver really isn't a bad bishop, he's just not as good as the others. If you didn't already have them, he'd be a great addition, fat or no. At least in this game he doesn't look tumorous like in the first one.

in fire emblem radiant dawn it's called Oliver's Fall. Yes it is called Power Hungry Fool in SSBB but it doesn't make much of a difference.

Odd... I ended up with his Eva at nearly 100... o-o I just did a mage-centric playthrough, and personally I found that in the last/second last battle he's the most self-standing efficient mage... Except for Micaiah, of course, but she just doesn't count. :P

Ahhh, that's rotten luck... :( I had him missed by a 83 and two 88 accuracy weapons in the same turn. As far as I've had it he's been borderline untouchable.

Micaiah is good, cept for me she can't be touched or else the enemy doubles her and she dies...she's my slowest character pretty much

She's always really slow, as far as I've had. I always gave her a specialized Light tome, with the highest hit possible (wait for triple arrow to come up)... I think that's really the best bet for her being any use other than in the last few levels; it's lovely that nobody can hit her anymore.... xD

Her speed isn't a bother, given how ridiculously high her magic power is. Besides, to be fair, her speed growth is actually the same as Ike. If it gets in your way, give Micaiah Resolve; that's more than enough to double in Part 1.
There's no need to give Micaiah any specialised tomes: just give her Thani, a decent avoid support, and watch those poor Begnion bastards burn.

Playing through again (yet...yet...again) I've found Laura to be an even greater unit - any white mage who caps their MAG so high and so quickly is without a doubt very efficient, and with supports and a few item boosts, she can be fantastic...

on the other hand, she's in the fail brigade, and there are better healers to take into the tower. IE, Micaiah, Elincia, Mist... and the herons, if you count them.

But we can use that to our advantage. :D Since only Micaiah and Sothe need EXP, give any spare to Laura. I trained her 100% on BEXP the first time through, and she turned out my best healer. o_o She really is an epic unit, but the Fail Brigade killed her image. :p

of course, if she, sothe and laura are the only dawners going into the tower, you have to do without Eddie and Nolan. not all that fun in my opinion.

Nolan is a waste of space in the tower, due to the surprising lack of Lance units, and ability to kill them easily. (A single mage can tear Levail, the best of them all, to pieces)
Edward is fairly decent, but the other Swordmasters in the game can be so much more convenient... I would use Mia before any other, though Eddie second for sure.
But definitely ditch Nolan for Laura. :x

on the other hand, Nolan is earth aligned, so a high level support with him is helpful to anyone and the weapon triangle doesn't much matter by the endgame.

Illyana, she is by far the best Anima magic user, she has more strenght than many melee characters and she can solo the dragon stage. Laura's class is godly. Unless u've maxed out every dawn brigade characer you cannot understad why people use them so much. And typing channlish is faster, and allow info to be transported faster

Ilyana is passable...if only just... Strength matters near-nought for magic users, and the little importance it has can be gained by any, really. xp
She's the only one who can use Rexbolt (?), though, so kudos to her. However, her magic, defense and speed have holes in them, her class considered...
The only reason she can solo the dragon stage is because of her lightning advantage, and probably Rexbolt. Notably, Kurthnaga can solo the stage on (hypothetically) level 1,

Soren only beats her in Magic, Calill only beats her in lck and skill. Tormod only beats her in spd. She is easily the most rounded of all the anima users. Her def is tenfold Soren's and her growths r better as an archsage. Kurth can solo the dragon stage, but he'll probably take a few hours. Ilyana can solo but survive hits from dheginsea and many red dragons. Yeh i tried and was able ot solo with kurth, believe me my friend, it will take atleast an hour and a half

Consider an average unit who gives +x stats to other units.
Now consider a very good unit who gives +x-1 stats to other units.
There isn't the space to waste on having him there for supports. D:

But I did manage to get Jill, Edward and Nolan to second tier far before the end of Part one without using any BEXP.

My recommendation is save all your BEXP until the Dawn Brigade comes around for a second time, then immediately boost Laura to 2-1.

when u say fail brigade, r u implying that the dawn brigade sucks. U r pathetically mistaken my friend. Every character in the dawn brigade turns out the best of their class. Laura, surprisingly, is the ebst magic user in the game. Forget healing, she is a power house with unsuaul defence. If turned into a lvl 20 saint or even lvl 15 (thats when most her stuff is maxed) she iwll be ur MVP from matches hereafter

u do realize that every one in the brigade, turns out the best of their class. Each time i've played this game, my final 11 always consisted of the brigade, except volug. U clearly have never maxed out any of the following above, or u'd would never day Leo is a burden.

would you please type in english and not Chanlish? And Godtrie beats Meg, no contest. Shinon is a candidate for best archer in *Fire Emblem* and Illyana is good for panty shots. okay, she's awesome. I do agree that Nolan, Edward and laura are the best of their classes, but you don't need laura's class anyway.

. Anyway, the saint class is amazing as they wield the only magic in the game that can screw over any boss (Rexaura), i was able to get Laura to kill Ashera in 3 turns of one on one. Now meg, she has the best speed, luck, and skill. Her strength is second to gatrie and her def & res is lower than Brom and Tauroneo's, but she is more useful because her Def is not that bad. Its not godly, but its real good. She can easily h0ld her own against an army and attack twice

Dawn Brigade...well...
Micaiah is hopeless. Please don't try and deny it.
Sothe can't beat Volke.. Their stats are almost the same, but Volke comes with an awesome knife and a the Assassin class. Not by biology, but by pure image, Sothe is outclassed.
Meg is definitely the best armoured unit, but by the time you don't need punching bags, armours become...well...eh.
All power to Laura. No more needs to be said.

Nolan is pretty sub-par as well... Actually, all the axe users in the game (save for Haar, maybe) are... o_o

Haar is s demi-god, Jill is a full goddess. If haar does 25 damage, Jill will do 22 damage twice, plus her res is much better. Only her defense is a flaw compoared to Haar. Ed is Stat wise the best swordmaster in the game, Mia has less str then Illyana, and i dont care how high her skill is, if she can only do 2 damage, she can only do 6 on a critical. And Ed outclasses her in every stat xcept speed. Ed>stefan>Zihark>Mia>......Lucia. Thats how it works,

Ahh... I exclude Titania by defualt (due to her status as a 'Jeigan'), and I've never been overly fond of Kieran. xp But mentioning it, both are considerably better than Nolan.
