  • you should have just paid him for his work and cut ties.

  • Well, the 600 bucks was a knocked off Price to begin with and you asked for another Pricedrop. The Administrator thing was useless. Either have him there or don't have him there.

And now you're asking if you should sue him. As if the American Justice System didn't have enough to deal with petty Bullshit that will accomplish nothing except him trying to get back at you after that.

  • People are so insecure.

  • Rick? Probably Santorum.

  • Business cold cuts hes like many IT guys he has no business sense and hes trying to sell his services he's unreliable and your best bet was to throw the pre-arranged amount at him and get rid of him asap. Oh well

  • Sue him for complete control of both sites, get a restraining order and sue him for $1000 for stress and internet hacking.

  • I think that what he did is illegal, can be proved, and can get him some jail time. TJ: you have to consider the fact that your site and every digital piece of information regarding your work on the internet is not only your property, but also what I call "digital assets" (like for any other tangible asset on any company o person) they are part of your work and persona, like Michael Jackson´s white globe is, so yes, you must sue and get your shit back!

  • Wait a sec... you ban people on your forum for expressing their opinions? What happened to your views on freedom of speech?

  • @thedonofnapoli There's a difference between voicing your opinion and just saying "Fuck you amazingatheist, you're a fat piece of shit faggot."

  • @bIoodypingu Um... no there isn't. That IS voicing your opinion.

  • @thedonofnapoli You probably would have done the same thing. Say that you created a forum, and so i get on this forum, and i'm calling a giant spineless pussy. Would you still want me there saying completely useless things? There is a difference between saying good ideas, and just spamming your forum with insults that are useless and have no purpose other than to troll.

  • @DnbDubJunkie Obviously, they were not just randomly trolling him. They had reasons for criticizing him. Whether or not those were good reasons, I don't know. So, no I would not do the same thing. I would not threaten to silence someone for voicing their opinion, no matter how stupid or offensive it is. Surprisingly, TJ goes over this in his "Everything is Offensive" video, which is why I'm bewildered by his statement about banning people on his forum.

  • @thedonofnapoli

Yeah but isn't it reasonable to say "opinions noted, now shut up"? Because who wants to read millions of posts critizicing one person when there are real topics to discuss. That's internet drama 101. A mob hating on one person for some minor thing.

  • I was a admin on a guild website and 1 day the guild leader pissed me off and said some nasty stuff so I shut down the website and voice server. Your contract should have ended when the site was running. But just learn from your mistakes. Still love u though

  • It's a tough 1 but don't sue. I had a simular problem with some gm's I appointed on my old lineage 2 server. You should have Payed him. Even if it meant posting a cheque. You could have then pursued for damages e.g money lost.

  • I would have found some compromise amount, and probably would have forced the money on him anyway. Don't sue him, it's really not worth it,

  • I still would have paid him the full price eventually, just not as quickly after the delays.

  • are you really 6 ft 7??

  • TJ, you should really have payed him what you owed him. Other then that, I agree with your other measures.

  • take him to judge judy !

  • I don't think that you should sue a teenage kid, TJ. Don't do petty shit like that. I know you like running things like a business, and you do what you want, but don't inflate this issue, and don't sue the kid.

  • He sounds like a major-crazy-dickhead doing multiple wrongs, but you should've paid him what you owed him.

  • Now that you placed so much emphasis on being impartial and how important that is, I kinda wanna hear his side of the story.

  • fuck it tj, just forget about it

  • @disasterpiece16 Youre a morron, gtfo

  • @Heklep was i fucking talking to you? I'm answering tj's question, which was wether he should sue the guy or forget about it, and I said "fuck it, forget about it", but ofcourse because theres fucking idiots like u that have to misread it, and believe it says "fuck tj". yeah, your real smart aren't you. go fuck yourself sideways.

  • personally i would file the lawsuit...

he's vandalised your website, can't see there being any way he can shrug this one off...

the guy didn't want your money, he doesn't deserve it...

  • this was worth my time LOL

  • Also TJ should know by now that if you try and rip someone off and they realize it, there's gonna be drama lol.

  • I don't buy for a second that this rick guy would ask for $600 for his work and then turn around later and say don't worry about the $ that's not why I'm doing it. I smell bullshit.

  • Where the hell is Cody??

  • @Makashi11 He died. Didn't you hear the news? TJ's been trying to avoid it because it's very emotionally hard on him, so don't mention Cody.

  • @DuncanTalks Well isn't Duncan just fucking hilarious

  • lol 11:47 he was talking about me and the thread I started. It feels funny to be mentioned by TJ, even in a really trivial way =D

  • TJ will block you if you leave rude comments. He blocked me on his other channel.

    watch?v=eA3JamXNsqU

  • @BestVideoResponse Nobody really gives a shit if he blocked you. sry

  • He isn't just civilly liable for what he did, he actually committed a felony when he re-gained access and defaced your website. You might not want to send him to prison over this but if you wanted to that is certainly a possible outcome.

  • @ess1898 Just want to be clear that I don't think its reasonable to destroy the guys life over this incident.

  • omg what a cunt. Shit only goes wrong when you trust in another person. notproductive still happening?

  • WTF are you wearing you sexy beast? ;)

  • I wouldnt sue him, dude. Not that you wouldnt have the right to, I just think you could come up with something more creative. I would worry about getting him out of the mix and your site up and running first. then, Id drop the whole thing and let your subconscious work on the problem. Opportunities always arise, and if you really wanna get back at him youll get your chance.

You could also just bitchslap him. Thats usually a solution I support, but in this case, i dunno. just my 2 cents

  • Rick seems to me the type of person who is internet warrior... all bitch when offline. bitch slap him the moment you see him...

  • why do i care about tj's problems so much

  • Bill him for the days your site is down,

    ( (your monthly cost) / ~30 ) x (days down)

  • Comment removed

  • get a couple junk keys and some epoxy. coat the keys in epoxy, insert them into the doors of his car, then break em off in there.

  • just found out about all this forum shit and freespeechvideos. wow didnt know tj was such a faggot

  • To all the people saying "SUE HIM!!" - more often than not you incur a loss as a plaintiff unless you're looking for large sums of money and actually win. Lots of states charge a couple hundred bucks to serve papers for small claims court. Shut the fuck up with the suing bs.

  • This is all bullshit, you banned him because he was a furry.

    Bigot.

  • I hope you changed all the FTP info and passwords and such. If he developed the site he has pretty much full access to the databases and so on.

  • Write a post about your negative experience with him and post it somewhere, being involved in tech future potential employers will look for background information on him

  • "Sue that asshole" just screams "The American way" to be. Be the bigger man, take it on the chin, take it as a learning experience to keep tabs on people you employ to show their work.. set interim objectives and goals. Overall it's just a case of you being too trusting, probably a little naieve so take it on the chin, realise the guy is a massive cock for acting the way he has and get on with things.

  • Don't sue him... Just get on with your life and try to forget about the whole situation.

Not saying you were in the wrong, in the situation, (because that was clearly Rick) but I don't see any reason to suing him.. Cmon, let's be less american about this.

  • Sue that asshole. Although the lawyer will be expencive and might not be worth whatever you are rewarded with.

  • If you have ANY of this in writing, your first and most important step is to cancel all accounts that he has had access to in the past, and rebuilt the site from scratch. Also, the only real course of action (again, if you have any of this in writing) is to talk to a lawyer and get the specifics of the laws in your area.

  • It sounds to me like he had a bunch of extra usernames/passwords for the admin panel/forum/etc. It's a common way for people who do this kind of work to "take revenge" if something goes wrong, and something to look for when dealing with people like this. I've known a lot of people that do this sort of work and I've known quite a few to leave back doors 'just in case'.

  • I'd take that 450 bucks, buy the sickest metal baseball bat and beat the shit out of him.

  • I am dead fucking serious. Rick is seriously one of the biggest douchebags I've ever heard of. He's no terrorist but he relates SO MUCH to all the douchebags I know in my life.

Fucking SUE that asshole TJ. We're standing by you man you're not alone.

  • Jeez, Rick is a shit spurting gaping asshole.

  • I would take what money you DID pay him back. i know it's a little unsubtle. but he conned you out of money you deserve back.

  • seems like you got yourself a web developer with bipolar disorder.

  • TJ, sue him. Just sue the shit out of the fucker.

  • I hate this kind of bullshit. This is why I no longer do anything regarding large sums of money with anyone who I do not know or trust professionally, also why I have a problem trusting people. People constantly fuck each other over all the time to make themselves feel higher than their target, and it pisses me off. Rick is in the wrong and he's being a child.

  • TJ's the god of his forum! "Stop or i ban you!"

  • I mean, the guy actually sounds a little nuts, tbh. I wouldn't go and keep harassing you if I knew what's good for my reputation as a web designer.

  • He wasted your time and kept you waiting, and then messed with your forum. You did the right thing. I felt sorry for him up to the point where he renamed the thread.

  • He fucked up, you payed for it, you deserve all your money back. it that simple.

  • Also if i made a site for someone i would put in some code so i could crash the site remotely and delete the sql database...

  • Your site is down

  • You never paid him the agreed price for the website. You tried to wiggle out of paying the full amount. You lost your website. It was technically never your website. As someone who donated towards it I'm disappointed how this was handled on both sides.

  • I say call it a loss and get a New designer.

  • LOL. Id love to see you take someone to court for 200$...

  • Rick has barely any money. suing him for this is just retarded... You both fucked up. You ARE being biased and you both should be ashamed of what you did. Oh and you left out the part where you said he should commit suicide... Retribution on either of your parts is totally stupid. You go on about it as if you did nothing wrong. YOU BOTH FUCKED, UP!

  • @MyHairIsAbnormal He said that both of them f up at the start

  • Yeah, mixing friends and money is generally a bad idea. Right around the point where you said that you didn't pay him for his work (right away, anyway), it was clear that was going to become a problem. Him offering to do the other site for free is also a huge red flag. I always make absoutely clear agreements because of this, and always pay/demand what I may be owed right away.

The rest of the time I though you were in the right, though I'd have given him the 600 anyway, to stay on good terms

  • Rick's a dick. Sue his ass.

  • Sounds to me like you were in the right the whole time, this Rick's a douche, I agree with Beidoll (don't pay him, but don't sue him), and, WTF, you are a giant (seriously, I'm only 5'3").

  • However once Rick messed with that thread "I didn't know TJ was such a giant" and your forum in general he's 100% in the wrong and no longer has any defense. At that point he's just being butt hurt.

  • I think at the beginning it would've been prudent to ask Rick why he's so depressed, try to make up a new schedule and continue to work on the site and I wouldn't have taken away his administrator status because his lack of work on that second site has nothing to do with his work on thatfathatheist. and when he asked about the money I would've paid him half since he at least did a good job on thatfathatheist.

  • A lawsuit would be ridiculous anyway, i think.

Up until the point where he started getting crazy, changing shit, it was just a normal conflict that could've been resolved in civilized manner where u both where in the wrong. He, cuz of slacking and U cuz of not 100% pressuring him to be paid for the 1st site. But I think after him starting being a dick he abolished his case.

  • caged death match

  • talk faster and get to the punchlines......geesh.

    thanks.

  • @OdeToNecrophilia this channel isnt 100% funny if you want more comedy theamazingathiest is what its for... thats quite intelligent. this is just what he wants to post for people who want to know

  • You don't owe the child a single cent. Whatever it is you do, I wish you luck in ruining this man's credentials for the rest of his life. He deserves it.

  • I love when the top comments are one serious good one, and a hilarious one :)

  • True, not professional at all. It seems he reacts upon impulse a lot. A lawsuit would ruin his reputation, so even though he wasn't professional, maybe he doesn't deserve that, especially seeing how good he can be at certain tasks.

  • What can be deduced from this communicated point of recount and rational is that the other party intended to produce a website, but the personal and likely emotional criteria for him to complete such a task was impaired and he became to proud to share that, in which case communication and empathy (not legal cases or other forms of retaliation) are the only production measures that can be taken, of course it is probably to late for that. Or he did not intend to benefit you from the beginning.

  • written contracts, tj. anything over $100.00, no matter what it is, i get in writing. always

no matter if it's my wife of 20 years, written contracts bub.

  • Comment removed

  • This kid has a degree and is an adult? He certainly isn't professional. I'd pay him what is owed in full, and sue for the losses.

  • The problem comes in when you dont pay the agreed amount for work done, if he wanted to do it as no charge he wouldnt of told you 600.00 from the start. Ive seen people that get weird talking about money with friends when they preform a service for them. You shouldnt of made him ask for the money owed him, it should of been ready when the job was done. everything after that is him being an asshole for sure but you set that situation up to happen by not paying him really

  • @vatokiss But you have to consider the problem that arises, When he will not physically let himself be paid, Or only a certain amount such as 150$. In that situation there is nothing you can do if he won't take the money. It's not TJ's Problem if he later asks for it. You have a set agreement for the money to be paid at a certain time or on the completion of a certain project, It's not TJ's problem if he voids that payment, And Does not justify him asking for the money whenever he feels like it

  • @vatokiss At a later date. If you agree to Void that payment, Then you cannot go back whenever you feel like it to get the money. Think of how ridiculous that would be. People Don't always have a certain amount of money on them, They are expected to have the amount agreed upon at that time, But at a later date they may not have that money on hand. TJ could have told him he gets nothing. And he would have been right to do so.

  • @vatokiss But he did tell TJ that he did not care for the money at some point. As they maid no contract in written form, I would take that as after he paid that $150 he told him that it was up to TJ if he wanted to pay the rest and that he therefor no long was obligated to pay the guy.

  • Just don't pay the fucktard and try again?

  • Comment removed

  • sue him

  • So you're saying "Im not gonna pay for this Windows 7 system, cuz the trial version of Office didnt work?" I think you're at wrong, and in fact that's very petty and cheap.

  • TJ you're so cheap, you should've just paid the guy.

  • @KingTekins He was going to but not the full pirce because he lost money because of them.

And then that guy wants to sabotage his site? Fuck that guy

  • @KingTekins He was going to but not the full pirce because he lost money because of them.

And then that guy wants to sabotage his site?Fuck that guy

  • You and rick made two separate contracts. You still owed him $600 no matter how you want to swing it. Even though he breached the second contract you can't legally breach the first contract just cause you are butthurt, You still owed him $450. If you were to buy a car and didnt pay for it they would sieze it from you. And he did the same thing to your website more or less. It was an asshole move and it wasnt as well calculated but i still think he was in the right.

  • @awerner2007 Imagine if you bought a car for $6000. Then they told you hey its cool pay us later. You gave them $1500. Then they said hey im gonna give you some free tires and your like cool. Then you drive up and they are like sorry we ran out of tires two hours ago and you are like hey you owe me for gas now so im not gonna pay the full $6000. They would tell you to fuck off and pay up.

  • Next time make a contract.

  • Take him to court. Drama aside, it's about money. Let the courts decide that part, then you decide if you want him to remain in your circle of acquaintances.

  • Ok Here is how it works out. Take him to court, and lay out the details in front of a judge. You pay the remaining $450 or so, and he pay's the costs which he owe's you. It will come out to all agreements fulfilled, plus the costs on his part, but everything is fulfilled.

  • I'm not sure how this would work in court, I mean did you have a contract?

If not I suppose the best you can do for retribution is to just be successful without him. Find someone else who will do the work for your websites and make him regret screwing himself out of a golden opportunity.

  • Try to solve it peacefully one last time. Then take it legally. It's your assets after all. So i totally agree with @elocfreidon and @rysha101 . This can severely bite him in the ass. So attempt to be a gent and then run him over if he still bitches. my opinion ^^

  • next step- cody gets preggers and we have baby mama drama.

  • If i had a gun i'd shoot him in the palm of his mouse hand

  • you need to take the smile off that assholes face

  • what a butt hurt bitch that guy was lol

  • Give him a single chance to undo everything he did, and if he doesn't get your paperwork together and take him to court. Also @elocfreidon has a very good point, although he deserves it.

  • man what a retard

  • Sue the shit out of the fucker

  • I would take legal action

  • forums = fora

Most people call them forums, though.

  • Gigantic Quivering Vagina... That's funny.

  • i would sue him

  • Get the rights to the websites, give him the money. Move on.

  • I reckon you should take legal action against him.

  • You paid for your site TJ! he has no right to take it down! you can and should take legal action against him! Try talking to him to see if he would listen to reason and fix the website; and warn him if he doesn't fix it you will take legal action.

If not then take him court!

  • His actions on your web site sort of cancel out the work that he did for it in my opinion. If I were you, I'd take the money you already paid him as a loss. I wouldn't sue him, but I wouldn't pay him the remainder of the money either. If he wants that money, let him take you to court. And then make sure you bring evidence of what he's done since, and also of the money that he has cost you for his actions on the other site you mentioned. Other than that, I'd say to just forget him.

  • who pays for websites anyway

  • i just wouldnt pay him

  • Next time draft a contract....

  • Jesus I feel like I am trapped in a giant junior high school.

  • Comment removed

  • SIX FOOT SEVEN?!!! What a giant, fuckin' asshole!

  • Ahhh...Good old troll of pestilence how you entertain me.

  • this is why you make backups

  • You seem to make an impression of a logical, reasonable person and somehow you got yourself into this ugly shit. A few rules which usually prevent making sad videos where you bitch about things like a girl: 1. Contracts for everything that involves mutual obligations and expectations. 2. Don't delegate admin rights for your systems if you don't know exactly how they work/what you're doing.

Pretty basic things most people who claim to be logical should know. Good luck next time.

  • Don't bother suing him. It will give him way more attention than he deserves, and it won't be cheap. Plus, you don't have much of an argument. Shit happens, but suing is usually not a good idea. I'm a lawyer; I know.

  • Sue him, make sure he never graces the web developing community ever. He is a child and needs to be taught a lesson in integrity. Not to mention the fact that he tarnished a partial amount of your reputation by slandering your name on the boards. Get the console log from the dedicated box, and hire a cyber-bully lawyer lol.

  • whip out your dick and skull fuck his mother

  • So for 450 bucks.. you lost everything? Have a blogtv session specifically for lawyer funds & sue.

  • sounds like he is like 14

  • this is a kinda shitty situation to be on tj's end from the sounds of it. i would like to hear rick's side of things, but from what i am hearing soo far, i think taking this to small claims court to have rick pay whatever it takes to get TJ's site back up and running like it was would be perfectly reasonable. as well as possibly a small amount of further compensation for the trouble and all that.

i would still take into consideration the money TJ owed him too though.

  • I feel for you, bro.

  • Rick sounds like a dick

  • @NinjaPutz Literally. Even rhymes

  • Mate, you should be more worried about Rick suing YOU! You took advantage and basically gave him a measly $150 for hours and hours of hard work and him running the site... You should have given him the $450. You never told him that there would be penalties for lateness, there was apparently no contract and certainly no advance payment. You do sound very petty and pompous. I still love your videos but you need to get some perspective. ps I recently completed a Law degree

  • @hobuspobus Your law degree hasn't done shit for you. If someone tells you that they don't request further payment, it's not your duty to do so unless you have a written contract saying that you're legally bound to paying them.

  • @shnish96 honey, 'oral contract'. Look it up

  • @hobuspobus Then he's technically making that oral contract null and void by saying he requests no payment.

  • @shnish96 I would have to hear the exact wording... But the fact is, the work was done and the oral contract was over by that point. TJ was already violating the agreement. I could quote you various cases as setting precedence but not sure how much detail you need? Contract Law is my absolute favourite and I love cases like this. TJ would lose in a split second he doesn't have a leg to stand on. There could be a separate case for the sabotage on the forum etc but the website, no way.

  • @hobuspobus You're an idiot. Do you really think that you can just present "they made an oral contract" as evidence as to why tj would lose the case? TJ wasn't violating the agreement by not paying him. If I said to you I'd pay you $500 to do something, gave you $100, and you told me you didn't want anymore money, then you're the one violating the contract by not accepting the money. If later on you ask for the money, and I agree to give it to you with deductions, no law is broken.

  • @shnish96 What you are unwittingly referring to is estoppel. However in this case TJ would have to prove he genuinely believed this Rick did not want a penny more etc, hence why I said we'd need to hear exact wording and so on. I do not think it would hold on that basis as I can think of a variety of similar cases that fell through at the first hurdle, and this seems textbook to me. Anyway look it up and let me know if you have any other questions. I love contract law so it's my pleasure.

  • @hobuspobus I kinda agree with this, im gona use the lates banking example. Tj u are like a bank who took the risk in business and it failed and now u are asking for the bailouts... now if i remember correctly your words in regarding banking crisis are "let the mutherfuckers burn"... Regarding Ricks actions u should suspect that his not "proffesional" when you offered him payment and he didint exept it coz he should atleast take 300 from u to pay up his partner in business.

  • @fragelius haha yes good point - kind of ironic how tj is acting like the biggest corporate prick, the kind he always preaches against. Disappointing isn't it.

  • Sue him. You can't just let people spit in your face like that and get away with it. Otherwise it will just happen again.

  • Sometimes the best revenge is living well.

I'd ignore him. Go about my shit. Out class him. Be the bigger man.

Sometimes douchebaggery can speak for itself. Let the watery-vinegary smell of his behavior waft across the digital ether and sooner or later it will catch up with him.

Otherwise, move on and do you.

  • when you sue him, will you swear the whole truth and nothing but the truth so help me god?

  • As much as he deserves a lawsuit, I don't think it's worth the effort. You won't gain nearly as much money as you will probably put out.

  • MY NAMES... NOT... RIIIIIIIIIIICK!!!!

  • @fotmusic lol what movie is that from

  • @randomness711 It's from the Spongebob episode "The Fry Cook Games" hahaha

  • @fotmusic I can't belive TAA fans thumbsed up a spongebob joke. life is nice

  • Sue that motherfucker.

  • This happens quite a bit with freelancers. Honestly, he may be good at what he does design and development wise, but his terrible business skills are lacking. Honestly, I dont think you did anything wrong. Especially as the owner of the sites, and the supplier of funds of those sites. Even if you didnt really pay much of anything at all.

  • sue that motherfucker, this America, and in America we sue assholes
