  • well this is all fine and good but they could not legally make her get out of the car nor can they hook to it with someone in it.. They are lucky she got out or they would have had to call the law to come out and even then they won't necessarily make her give up the car.

  • If everyone were allowed to keep the car and not pay what they owe, precious few of us would be able to afford credit. I've had a car repo'd and it was our fault. When you sign an agreement with the finance co. to buy a car on time, you also agree to have the car reposessed when you stop making payments. Truth is I've been out of a job for a year and still have to make payments on my ride if I want to drive.

  • I have a problem with those who "hear what they see".

Things happen. Even people who HAVE "saved for a rainy day", have been there. I've been there because of an unexpected family crisis and I've lived in those section8 apartments when I worked two jobs while going to a 2yr. 40hr a week school.

May you never find yourself in THAT situation but, IF you get there, I hope others are kinder than what this company, you and others like you have been to her. You, without sin, cast the first stone.

  • I tend to find if you pay what you owe, the repo man does not bother you. what would you like em to do? let you pay them back over 100 years? She chose & bought the car, she has to pay for it, that simple. if you have not paid, then the company you borrowed from has a perfect right to recover THEIR car.gurlygurl your very naive, its only your car when you make the last payment.

  • I agree with the last part of your statement totally. she is entitled to respect and not have this broadcast all over the internet. I suggest you follow these guys around and post that on the net...see how they like being cyber stars.

  • right in front of the gates of her "gated community" I bet that was the talk of the month at the coffee mornings amongst the other "community" members. time to pay up and stop pretending to be rich. IF you don't think you can afford it, you probaly can't. its time you stopped trying to "keep up with the Jones's" (google the last bit if you don't under stand it)

  • Ok to start with, this is a very responsible woman! She raises two granddaughter's and has for 6 years. She worked in a Top Field for 25 years. Lost her job in July!! This car was paid for in full! But due to her situation she was faced with bills for the kids and food! Faced with the fact of not being able to privide for food and rent she turned to "TITLE MAX" with great remorse". She is a well respected person and has done nothing less than work hard in the same business as I said for 25 years

  • I assume you know this person from the information you offered.I respect your defense of this lady,As someone who has struggled with finances for long before the credit crunch started and owes nothing other then the mortgage payments I know you don't try and live beyond your means. If her financial circumstances had changed, she should have thought about downsizing her home to something more modest and either selling/renting it out.the car is a luxury u can afford to lose if u have kids to feed.

  • its a bad time for most of us,The time of impressing friends and neighbors with non existant wealth is at a end.How humilating for this lady was it to have her car seized right outside her home in front of her neighbors.Everyones having to make tough decisions,Your friend was slow making hers which is why this circumstance occured.I don't live in a gated community to impress people, because I also have kids to feed and bills to pay which is more important then how I am seen by strangers.
